Beautiful 1 bedroom in the heart of the Bywater, the most happening area of NOLA!
Everything you need for a few nights or an entire year. Ask about our bike rentals. Rates are higher for festivals like Jazzfest and Mardi Gras.
Come visit the Bywater Neighborhood in New Orleans, from historical shotguns around every corner to live music at Kermit Ruffin's bar - Vaughn's, you will have a blast! Our restored servant quarters offers over 700 sqf. of space and is cozy and close to many restaurants, dive bars, coffee shops, parks, and studios spaces. We offer wireless internet, a fully functioning kitchen, new linens, cable, new HD 32 inch flat screen, raised cover deck with private back yard, washer & dryer and everything you need to live comfortably. Our guests have had nothing but positive things to say so far. This bungalow is close to the Quarter, about 1.2 miles, the perfect afternoon walk. The shotgun and creole houses in the area are anywhere from 100 - 200+ years old and full of charm and history. I would suggest bringing a bike or two or renting them, it is a great way to get around the area. The NOLA bus line runs at end of the street.
Favs in the area: Satsuma - great coffee shop serving breakfast & lunch (try the beat and lime juice). Bachennal wine shop - amazing outdoor wine shop & patio with many cheeses and beers. An outdoor food vendor serves grilled pulled pork, amazing salads, and small plates of all kind. Mimis is a great older dive bar that serves strong ones. Fun place to hang with the neighbors and perfect for late night drinks (in the Marigny). Markys is a great beer dive for the games or just daydreaming, you will never feel alone (off Royal)...the list goes on......

Bywater is the top rated area in town for non- conformist, artist, hip tourist, and just down right awesome folks who like to walk and ride bikes!
bus, foot, bike, carpet ride.....12-15 min walk to Frenchman Street & Quarter
Other Things to Note
(website hidden) New York Times and the Bywater of NOLA
quiet after 10:30 pm, please respect neighbors, no smoking inside ($300 fine), big mess=higher maid fee, park in street and not in front of anyone's driveway.....number one rule - have fun and see the area, and always tip musicians!
The apartment location was quiet and a reasonable distance from the French Quarter, coffee shops and the Mardi Gras Zone grocery store.
Sorry Tiffany, we had 3 bikes stolen over mardi gras (two different occasions) after letting people lock up in Quarter and a yoga studio at night. They all had to buy new bikes and it was not fun for anyone. Sadly, there is a huge issue with bike thefts. We welcome all to rent bikes but we just cant lock for hours unattended right now until the police make some things happen.
We had a wonderful time at the Bywater Hideaway! Robert was very accommodating and the place was awesome. Unique and eclectic furnishings, nice outdoor patio, and a great location. Lots of excellent restaurants, bars, and cafes nearby, and just a short walk or cab ride away to the main tourist areas. Definitely recommend staying here! :)
My husband and I have stayed in Bywater many times. We can't get enough of this trendy, lively neighborhood. Robert's is a sweet, quaint, well equipped half duplex. We loved sitting on the back deck munching on the thoughtfully provided snacks and beverages. We stole some moments sittin' on the traditional front stoop of the attached duplex watching the full moon rise between the quaint rooftops of the houses across the street. We strolled to the arch and enjoyed the river park, casually conversing with the locals. We walked to nearby Elizabeth's for a delicious vegan dinner and walked to Satsuma's for breakfast three times! Don't miss the new NOCCA RESTAURANT. We walked to the french quarter. There is so much to enjoy. We did two loads of laundry in the w/d. This Abnb is comfortable, wonky, authentic and convenient. Robert suggested some new activities. Our favorite activity was the immersive movie at the WWII Museum.
We stayed here for my girlfriend's birthday and had a great time! The house is in a nice, quiet neighborhood. There was a yard, and our dogs were quite comfortable! It's a great place to stay away from the French Quarter. Thanks Robert!
great place! perfect place to stay, charming neighbourhood, close enough to get to the french quarter easily but far enough to be able to get away from it when you want some peace and quiet. bicycle theft is endemic so unfortunately it isn't possible to use the bikes to visit places and lock them up outside (e.g. to pick up groceries, visit a museum, walk around etc) - they will be stolen (it happened to me) - the bikes can only be for riding around on. if you need a gym the healing centre is the nearest, which also has a good if expensive co-op grocery store.
Robert's hideaway in Bywater is just right. It's in a great neighborhood with quick access to local bars and restaurants - many are just a walk away, including Elizabeth's (just a few houses away), Bacchanal, and The Joint. He also has bikes to get to more distant places such as the French Quarter, Garden District or City Park - quite easy to get around on bike; a lot of people do. The inside of the property is clean and has a fun, unique style. There's an adjoining section that can be rented out as well. There was another couple staying in the other section. We could hear them pretty easily from the kitchen, but it wasn't bothersome. Regardless, we were not at the property during the day, and it was quiet late at night. The weather was very chilly while we were there (Jan/Feb), so the house was quite cold inside. The space heaters that he has came in handy! Robert is very responsive via text/email, which was helpful when we had to stay an extra day due to a flight cancellation. And he was very accommodating with extending our stay. Overall, our time at Robert's house was a great, convenient stay at terrific value.
Our host Robert was wonderful. Upon our late night arrival, the house was warm (he left the heater on), jazz music was playing and there were beers in the fridge, so we immediately felt welcome.
The Bywater area is fantastic. It is only 30 min walk to French Quarter and a 10 min cycle. We hired two bikes off Robert and rode everywhere! even to the Garden district.
Also there is great little eating places around the Bywater like Elizabeth's; which is 4 houses down and always had a massive queue by 11pm and does a great brunch and The Joint was a great authentic BBQ place.
It's also really quiet at night so if you've had enough of the craziness of Bourdon and Frenchman's St then you can come back to this house and chill out and relax.
Would definitely love to come back and stay again!
