Interaction with Guests
The bulk of my interaction with guests occurs when they arrive. After the initial meeting, I find that guests are generally pretty busy so the interaction decreases quite a bit. However, I am always available and am willing to assist when/how I can.
My neighborhood is vibrant, diverse, accessible, and growing! In the last year we have added two new coffee shops (iMunch and The Monkey and the Elephant), and a new sandwich shop (RyBrew). This is in addition to the diners, Jamaican, Soulfood, and of course the pizza and cheesteak stops. By mid-summer we are expecting a new micro-brewery and "Pizza Brain" restaurant (responsible for the world's first Pizza Museum). The growth is exciting and the people around it are awesome!
There are several modes of public transport within 1 block of my house. The 15 trolley (access to Broad St. Subway line); the 48, 7 & 32 buses (access to downtown/center city with 15 minutes).
No pets, no drugs, no weapons, no additional guests, no loud music.
We stayed at Phil's place for one night and were pleased. It's hard choosing given the selection in Philly. We sort of randomly chose Phil's and it worked. He greeted us with the most fantastic fritters! My boyfriend and I fit in the queen bed well. A shade would have been much appreciated because the curtains let in a lot of light. That was our only complaint. What a wonderful cat too!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and Phillip was an excellent host. Once he gave us a tour of our living space on the 3rd floor, he graciously respected our privacy while still making us feel welcome in his home. The area is being restored and it's clear that people are proud to take care of their neighborhood.
We had a very quick stay at 3 Little Birds and it was great. Clean, private and Phillip was very nice and welcoming. I probablly could have done a little more homework about the location b/c it wasn't close to the wedding we were attending. But otherwise, seems like a good location near museums. Overall, good stay and fit our needs perfectly.
Phillip was a very friendly and polite host. He gave us some valuable advices where to go in Philly. His accommodation was awesome. It is located very convenient with a bus stop only 1 minute away which connects one with Downtown.
My girlfriend and I spent the night at Phillip's place and we both really enjoyed our short time there. Phillip was very easy to communicate with. His house is very nice and has everything there that you need. I will be contacting Phillip in the future whenever I come to Philadelphia.
Phillip was easy to communicate with prior to our visit. Despite our arriving much later than expected he was waiting to greet us and was very welcoming, orienting us to the neighborhood and making recommendations on where to go and what to see. During our stay the few extra things we needed he supplied quickly. If you’re not a city dweller the city noise and diverse neighborhood may take a little getting use to but we quickly settled in, felt safe and found the neighbors to be very friendly. There’s a good market a few blocks away for groceries, including produce, restaurants within walking distance and an excellent place for good coffee. Phillip’s house is a short distance from the Philadelphia Zoo and Fairmont Park and has easy access by trolley, bus or car to the other major areas of the city. Thanks for hosting us Phillip.
Phillip was very accommodating about my later than expected arrival. My flight ended up being 3 hours late, but he was able to arrange for his brother to meet me with the keys and show me the space. (I did get to meet Phillip shortly before I left, they are both very friendly). The 3rd floor has been beautifully done and was very comfortable to stay in, with plenty of room. Since the space is part of the family home, you can hear occasionally hear Phillip and the kids downstairs, but nothing distracting. The bedroom does face the street side, which is fairly active with the bus stop nearby, so keep this in mind if you need absolute quiet to sleep. I, myself, enjoyed hearing the buzz of the neighborhood. The overall location is also a plus. There is a great coffee shop just a block away (High Point Cafe) and the Eastern State Penitentiary (fascinating tour!) and Philadelphia Art Museum are about a 15-20 minute walk each. The bus stop on the corner also made it convenient for me to get to the Amtrak station. I would definitely recommend Phillip's place.
I work for a youth serving agency in Philadelphia and spend most of my days in Philadelphia Public Schools. I'm energetic, friendly and people think I'm funny- Lol. I'm extremely active as I enjoy biking, hiking, running the "Rocky Steps" learning new things and meeting new people! You'll also meet my Girlfriend, Angelica. She's an eclectic, friendly person that will make you feel right at home. She's an artist at heart that spends her spare time as a freelance photographer. She's also fluent in Spanish.
Most guests find my space to be comfy and private. Feel free to stop in, stretch out and enjoy your stay in Philadelphia- at my place, of course!
