The Space

Moroccan owned and Moroccan run - Riad Layla Rouge is a tiny jewelled palace in the middle of the beating heart of Marrakech - Place D'Jeema el Fna.1 minute from Place D'Jeema el Fna in the centre of the souqs and the first ever edible hostel riad for adventure hungry travellers in Marrakech The free tea and cake may stop you from trying to bite into the walls – or maybe not... Have a taste…

Riad Layla Rouge has 3 private suites, a luxurious dorm with giant bath and a glamping style tent. You are welcome to use one of our 2 kitchens for a cooking class or to make your own food as though you are in your own home.

You would be staying in the area of El Ksour - in the middle of markets within 5 minutes of all main tourist attractions. Or, if you want to just take a step back - relax on our top terrace (one of four) and enjoy 360 degree views of the medina with a glass of tea and shisha pipe.

Riad Layla Rouge is traditionally Moroccan. Not just in its architecture or decoration which may make you feel as though you are in a colourful jewel box, but also through its cuisine and language. 'Cooking Chez Layla', 'Arabic Chez Layla' are just two of the courses that Layla offers for you and your companions to get a taste of Moroccan life.

  • I highly reccomend this accommodation. It was a small boutique style with great staff. Aida is just gorgeous and if you are looking for just a little step up from your average dorm, this is the place to stay. The best breakfasts I have had anywhere I have stayed in the world. Thanks Aida and staff.

  • We were only here for one night, but the hostel was great - beautiful and clean. The staff were completely wonderful. They helped arrange our taxi back to the airport and accompanied us to find the taxi. Breakfast was fantastic!

  • This was by far the best place we stayed in Marrakesh! We were here for 5 nights and stayed in 4 different places to see as much as possible and this was the most welcoming, comforting and fantastical place of all!

They were extremely helpful in arranging an excursion into the desert for one night as well.

I can not begin to describe how wonderful the people that work there are. They instantly feel like family and were probably the nicest people we met in our stay in Marrakesh. To put this in comparison we also stayed at the La Mamounia and the staff here were far better!

They also have cute baby turtles to play with that are not photographed. The pictures do not do this place justice.

About
Love independent travel, love independent travellers! Feel that time should be made for tea and cake every day. Twice. It is good for the soul. It is always joyful to feel as though you are part of an extended family when travelling in new, unknown places. We certainly like to feel that way and hope you do too.
