TerLa B&B was developed as a place for guests to decompress while visiting Leelanau County. Experience a working lavender farm with spectacular views of the lakes, fragrant breezes, a farm market and walking trails. Enjoy Italian Countryside themed breakfasts on the porch or terrace. Learn about lavender, wildlife, regional history and art. Slow down, take in the sights and sounds, enjoy the quiet, interact with guests, eat the great food and have easy access to regional attractions.

The space
COVID 19 Update: On June 2nd, the State of Michigan rescinded its "stay at home" order which formally opened the state’s lodging industry for vacation travelers. Beginning June 8th, Terrazza di Lavanda will begin accepting reservations for overnight lodging. Airbnb will automatically place a 24-hour block on reservations after each guest checks out (this means we must allow for a 24-hour buffer between reservations). Your hosts have implemented advanced cleaning and sanitization procedures recommended by Airbnb, CDC and local health authorities to minimize the spread of COVID 19 and other transmittable diseases. We will ask each guest to allow us to take their temperature via no-touch infrared thermometer prior to entry. Guests showing elevated temperatures will be asked to re-schedule their visit with us and we will make accommodations to do that (we recommend that you take your own temperature prior to travelling to our property to minimize the chance for a health cancellation). While moving in the house, we will ask guests to wear a face mask. Your hosts will also wear face masks while interacting with guests in the house. We will have hand sanitizer dispensers in each bathroom. Our homestead is limited to 5 guests in two rooms. Separated and unique entrance, sleeping, bathroom, eating, seating and parking facilities will be designated for each room which will promote compliance with social distancing without restrictions on enjoying the property. We are a very good alternative to high density lodging options in Leelanau County.

Our goal is to provide a SAFE, quiet and comfortable space for travelers to unwind. We have hosted many women traveling alone. They ALL have commented that they felt safe and their expectations on comfort and cleanliness were exceeded. Sleeping accommodations include a two-room suite. The bedroom has a King Bed. There is also an adjoining sitting room with a sleeping sofa. Both rooms have large picture windows overlooking the back yard pond and gardens. There is a large closet for clothes and drawers for storage in both rooms. The suite has a private full bath with shower and tub. The suite has a shared (with B&B staff) entrance from the driveway and is accessed through a utility area where there is a washer/dryer, microwave and refrigerator. Other guests will have their own entrance and areas for separate eating and sitting.

Guest access
Guests will have access to the bedroom suite and bathroom, adjacent utility room, front porch (for sitting and eating), lavender farm, farm market and walking trails.

Other things to note

Location

Lake Leelanau, Michigan, United States

The house, farm and farm market are located in a remote and rural location in the center of Leelanau County, MI. The area is zoned "agricultural conservation" and is surrounded by other farms and residences. It is a very quiet area except for the occasional sounds of farm equipment during the day.

After building corporate careers and raising a family, your hosts, Elaine and Roger, decided to change everything and follow their personal dream... to build a decompressive and hospitable agricultural destination Up North in Michigan. Roger’s family roots are in the state and Elaine and Roger attended university together in Ann Arbor. They purchased a wooded property overlooking Lake Michigan and north Lake Leelanau and have spent the past 3 years transforming it into a farm and B&B. The views are spectacular, the plants are colorful and fragrant, the walking trails are peaceful, the sunsets are breathtaking. The farm highlights lavender products, herbs, Elaine's outstanding cooking and baking, logo souvenirs, and crafts inspired by surroundings. Most of these items can also be purchased online throughout the year. Elaine and Roger open their home to guests so they can enjoy the majestic beauty of the property. The B&B provides king size beds in large, quiet, and comfortable rooms. Elaine and Roger look forward to spending time with you online, on the terrace, in the market or in the B&B Homestead. Please contact us online or stop by in person May through October.

Although we try hard to give each guest the attention they deserve, the Hosts also have farm chores to perform daily. Hosts will interact with guests at breakfast and during the day on the farm. We ALWAYS immediatley respond to texts and phone calls.
