Separate entrance, bed, private bath, living room, porch 800 sq ft. I king bed in bedroom, futon and couch in living room. Indian River frontage. Small kitchen area with microwave, small refrigerator, toaster over, coffee maker. Watch the dolphins!
We are located on the Indian River. There is a large yard and a dock. You can walk along Indian River Drive, kayak, or take out a stand up paddle board. The space is one half of a walkout basement with bedroom, bath, living room, limited kitchen type area (see appliance list- you can cook if you are creative) and screen porch. 800 square feet plus the screen porch with the view pictured. This location is perfect for a visit to the Space Center. It is also fairly good access for the Canaveral National Seashore.
The entire area (this is a walkout basement) is available for the guests and it is separate so they do not have to share with the owners. There is one king bed in the bedroom and a futon and couch in the living room so up to 4 can sleep in the "apartment".
Interaction with Guests
Guests can have privacy or they can come upstairs to the upper deck if they wish to socialize. They may have company on the dock, but the screen porch is private.
The immediate neighborhood is a nice area for walking and bicyclists are everywhere. There is easy access to SR 528 and I 95. If you look at the map from Airbnb you can't tell that there are lots of trees and that is is a somewhat rural atmosphere. I would try (website hidden) Earth to get a feel for the area.
Public transit is on US 1, but it is a bit of a hike. The bus system does not provide terrific service. Plan on having you own car.
Other Things to Note
This setting is somewhat rural. It is almost an acre and there is a lot of vegetation. If you want marble and glass, this is not the place for you. If you want classic old Florida, this is the place for you. We live upstairs, so you will see us around and because you are downstairs, you will hear footsteps. We try to be quiet, but you can hear us.
Eden was very welcoming, greeting us the night we arrived. She also provided a spare mattress for us (I didn't think we would need it, but our 4 year old son ended up sleeping on it, so it worked out great!) The description of the place was accurate. We appreciated the yard and especially the soccer ball, which helped us burn off said 4 year old's energy.
We enjoyed our stays at Eden's home. The room is spacious, private and comfortable. They have a beautiful waterfront views. Everything is as described. The hosts are really nice people. They had the extra mattress and heater ready for my one year old son. Eden's husband showed us around and their lovely chickens the other day. We talked a lot about the areas. I would recommend this place to my friends if they visit Cocoa.
We were able to easily fine our accommodation thanks to plugging in the address on (website hidden) Maps. Our host’s instructions for parking down at the bottom of the drive couldn’t have been clearer so that basically we had a non eventful arrival. Everything was laid out clearly, and we even had computer printouts stuck on the doors in our lower “basement” facilities directing us to the main living area.
This AirBnB really is nicely appointed with careful attention to detail. We had use of kitchen and large living room, and of course there’s the back porch looking over the river, and the large wide expanse back lawn.
Our only regret is that we could only stay one night and could not take advantage of the canoes, paddle boards and swimming off the dock or just sit in the sun. We would definitely like to come back in warmer weather.
The rooms were all clean and for this cool night, comfortably warm. The apartment, including the bathroom was spotless. And the towels were luscious.
Eden's home is the perfect respite. She provided everything my family (2 adults, 2 teens) needed for a comfortable stay. Great location for the Kennedy Space (website hidden) at sunset and coffee and breakfast (all provided by Eden) on the deck. But to make a 5 star stay even better, the kids used the resident kayak and paddleboard for a close encounter with dolphins. Priceless!
We really enjoyed staying at this so beautiful house with a garden directly on the Indian River. Eden and her husband are so nice. They told us the morning before our arrival that a rocket launch had been postponed, so we arrived on time to see it from their private dock on the river ! The appartment for the guests at the first level, directly on the garden, is big and confortable. One of our best moments in Florida
We had a wonderful stay at Eden and Vic's home. It was so comfortable and roomy with a great waterfront view. We got to fish off the dock-Vic even helped guide us in casting and the types of fish in the water there. We quickly referred to it as "home". Thank you, Eden and Vic! We must return and do the nature tours!
Communication before our trip was friendly and most helpful. When we arrived, we were more than pleased. The accommodations were very nice including a very comfortable bed and a great shower. The location was beautiful. We very much enjoyed Eden and Vic as hosts. Our next trip to Florida will definitely include a return stay.
I am a middle aged mom with a husband and 17 year old son. We are an active family with a son who is on a crew team. I surf and ride horses for fun. I work full time and so does my husband. We like living on the water and watching the dolphins and the manatees. The ospreys nest in the large pine tree in our neighbors back yard, so you can watch them from the screen porch. We aren't very interested in the theme parks, but they are about 50 minutes away and it is an easy drive. We are 40 minutes from Orlando International Airport and again it is an easy drive. We are a good spot to stay if you want to go to the Kennedy Space Center. You can see the Vehicle Assembly Building from our dock.
