The house was as advertised and Jan was very pleasant to deal with in the lead up to the vacation. The location of the house is gorgeous and the view from the front porch was amazing on a sunny day. My only issues were that the TV in the master bedroom was broken and that we had to supply our own toilet paper. From my previous AirBnB experience, that wasn't the case. Having to run out to the grocery store at 10:00 on a Sunday night to buy toilet paper was not something I anticipated having to do on my vacation. While I understand that I wasn't renting a hotel room, I was still paying a significant amount of money to rent Jan's house and something as basic as toilet paper should have been provided. Other than that, my family and dog absolutely loved the house and everything Asheville had to offer.
Brett, I am sorry the master bedroom tv went out while the guests were in the house the week before your arrival. I didn't have a chance to repair or replace it, as my mom was very ill and passed away the weekend of your arrival.
As far as the toilet paper issue, I left a roll in each bathroom to get you thru your first day or so of your stay. I am sorry, if on the 2nd day, you had to go to the grocery store. Other than those issues, I am glad your family enjoyed our house and the beautiful NC Blue Ridge Mountains.
My experience with Jan was a good one. She was very patient with me as I am new to AIRBNB. Communication with her was good, and her Home was very nice. Views from the house were better than I had imagined. The neighborhood was upscale and quiet with incredible vistas. Location was just right, not too close to everyone at Lake Lure, but not too far away either. Chimney Rock Park is also right around the corner, and it is a must see. There is also a supermarket that is minutes away. The Blue Ridge Mtn. House is Rustic and Classy at the same time. My family and I enjoyed staying there. Would recommend it to anyone.
I went on vacation with my wife and 3 kids to Our Place the 3rd week of July. We had an amazing time! The view from the front porch was spectacular! There is so much to do in the area that we only made it to Lake Lure for a few hours. My only regret is that we had to leave so soon. Among other things, the trip into Chimney Rock was definitely worth the price of admission and nearby Asheville is fun for the whole family.
Jan was a most gracious host and provided us with local information and insights which helped us maximum the fun we had during our stay. The house was very clean and well-maintained, and the blend of relaxing time at the house and the outdoor activities in the area gave us exactly what we were looking for in a vacation. Thanks, Jan!
My husband and I stayed in this beautiful log home for two weeks. We loved every minute of our stay and look forward to returning this Fall. It was peaceful and so relaxing. The sound of the crickets at night are amazing. We never saw another person the entire time that we were there. Jan was always available in a moments notice for any questions. Can't wait for our next visit. Lisa Skiffington and Randy Cole
Thank you, Lisa. I do hope you and Randy return to visit with us very soon. The word is getting out about the new equestrian center and I have several folks from Camden, SC (another big horse town in SC) calling about our house. Let me know if you are planning another trip down here.
our host, Jan, was extremely attentive, delightful and always available. The Description was of her Cabin was exactly as she had described it; spacious, fully equipped, and uniquely decorated. The neighborhood was just as impressive it's a gated community, that's only 12 minutes away from the town of lake lure, very conveniently located with 5 minutes from an awesome grocery store.
Stayed at our place June 20-22. Lovely home, very spacious, clean, beautiful, and charming. Host very accessible, accommodating, and easy to work with. House is located in beautiful neighborhood, 10 minutes give or take to the main area of Lake Lure. Would recommend staying to anyone looking for a mountain getaway close to the like and Chimney Rock.
Ed and I built this house 7 yrs ago. After months of going there every weekend, working on it, we fell in love with the house and the quaint mountain town. We have made many family memories over the years and have loved this place. Ed and I are both business owners in Columbia. We have 3 children between the 2 of us. My daughter lives in nearby Hendersonville, NC and works as a nurse. Her favorite place is still on the front porch of "Our Place"
Ed and I love to ride our motorcycle thru the mountains, sit by the fire on cold winter days and love on our dogs.
