Come and stay in the Xavier Project Guesthouse in Kampala! Our guesthouse is situated in Nsambya not far from St Peter's Cathedral and it offers a peaceful and functional base for anyone visiting Kampala. We have recently rennovated the property meaning that it is now very welcoming, with a cool air of sophistication. It boasts mod-cons such as hot water and a bathtub for guests - a luxury hard to find in this area.
Included in the price enjoy three meals a day based on a traditional Ugandan menu (specific tastes and requirements can be catered for on request) and other facilities such as clothes washing.
The guesthouse is designed to cater for travellers who are passing through as well as volunteers or guests who would like to stay for many months. A monthly rate is available on request.
At the Xavier Project guesthouse we are very conscious of security which is why every room can be independently locked and is equipped with a secure safe. The guesthouse is within a secure compound which is not far from the main road to Makinde.
Our office is a five minute walk away and we have high speed wifi there that you can use for free.
I had a fantactic stay at the Xavier Guesthouse. Edmund, Mildred and Kate were brilliant hosts with great knowledge of the local area and Kampala. The house was comfortable and welcoming, and being able to see and hear about the fantastic work of the Xavier Project was an added bonus! There are good shops, bars and restaurants nearby and a local hotel has a great pool you can use for 7,000 shillings.
Thank you all for an unforgettable stay in Kampala!
Super functional and the hosts are extremely helpful, friendly, and welcoming. Close walk to a nearby Shoprite and although taxi cars are not easy to catch in the evenings, there are tons of boda-bodas and, if need be or preference dictates, the hosts will arrange a car for you! Great food, comfy sleep, good location - and very close to the Xavier Project's offices! Check them out and learn about the org: stellar group!
Terrific value, very clean and hospitable, convenient location to getting into downtown Kampala - a great place to stay on all fronts!
The hosts were warm and friendly. The price was very reasonable and the guest house was always kept clean. Located not far from the places where I wanted to go and could easily be reached. I recommend this guest house.
Situated just on the outskirts of central Kampala, this cozy little guesthouse is a great simple place to stay out of the chaos of the city but within easy reach by public transportation, with all your basic needs available just around the corner. The house manager and maid are very welcoming and keep the place clean and tidy! And Edmund was very helpful arranging my booking and airport transfer. All around, I'd definitely recommend staying here!
Edgar and Maddie are great hosts! A very welcoming atmosphere. Clean and not far from downtown.
I have had a wonderful stay at the guesthouse. It is very clean and close to the center of Kampala. Edgar and Madrine are very warm and welcoming people. They made me feel like I was home. I would definetly come again and recommend it to others!

I am a teacher by profession currently living in Nairobi working for a project I founded called the Xavier Project. We provide education, employment and media opportunities for refugees, primarily from the Democratic Republic of Congo. I love Nairobi and enjoy many different aspects of it from the simmering technology revolution to the traditional customs and the simple way of life found in my surrounding neighbourhood. As a result I have a diverse selection of friends here who I can introduce you to and who can give you the full Nairobi story.
I also spend a lot of time in Kampala where my other listings are located. I have been coming to Uganda regularly for the last four years and in that time I ticked a lot of the tourism boxes so I can offer advice on the many opportunities Uganda has to offer. In particular I have developed a walking tour route around Kampala, which has more gems than people give it credit for. If I'm feeling energetic I can take you myself or give you a bespoke map! Included in the itinerary are Kabaka's Palace and Lake, Rubage Cathedral, the minaret at Gaddafi's Mosque (top of - great views), Owino market, the craft shop complex, and Uganda Parliament, wrapping up with a drink in Boda Boda bar overlooking the Golf Course. A very nice afternoon adventure.
