Where you’ll be

Detroit, Michigan, United States

You'll see a brick single family boarded up home(s) and begging to be restored, and maybe some that are too far gone to be saved.

This neighborhood reflects the true historical charm and potential for the future that you hear about when people discuss Detroit's resurgence. The residents here love our city and have very little patience for anyone who chooses to emphasize the negative and not take a chance to explore all of the hidden gems our neighborhood has to offer.

the SHAW house is walking distance from Central HS and Life Remodeled in the old Durfee School bldg. There you have access to fields and a running track for exercise or flying a kite! Let me know if I need to pick one up for you. You can learn about Detroit's music history at the Motown Museum, just a 10-minute drive away. Make your way to the New Center neighborhood and explore the Fisher Building, home to local retailers and "Broadway in Detroit". You can catch the Q-line (street car), rent from MoGo bike share or hop on an electric scooter to make your way to one of the other popular neighborhoods-Midtown, Corktown, Downtown, West Village and more!

the Shaw house is a mile from where the '67 rebellion began on 12th (Rosa Parks Blvd) and Clairmount. There are new parks and displays at museums that honor the seriousness of the civil unrest and challenge at that time in Detroit. Our block is a diverse (young Wayne State students/ to the elderly) community which depicts the past and future. It's my pleasure to invite you to experience the SHAW house.
