Located directly on the beach! Enjoy paradise off the beat path! We have 2 seperate cabinas attached to the main house with private entrances and bathrooms. Large porch to spend time! A fresh fruit breakfast is included in all rates.
Located RIGHT on Playa Matapalo, you can hear the waves crashing from your bed. Relax in our hammocks around the patio or enjoy a hammock between the trees on the beach. Matapalo is truly an off the beaten path and we like it that way! Enjoy the private beach almost all to yourself!
You are right between Quepos, which has the National Park Manual Antonio and Dominical, a cool beach town with great restaurant options.
Great big wrap around porch with 2 different tables and a sitting area with a couch and 2 single chairs.
Interaction with Guests
A fresh fruit breakfast is served each morning. We love to help guests with any tours, waterfalls, ect. We are here to help out!
Get a feel for the local small village of Playa Matapalo. You can walk to a small nature reserve just a mile North from the house. You can get there by beach or road.
We are about a KM from the highway and bus stop. You can walk into town but a car is recommneded so you can have the freedom to explore Manual Antonio and Dominical.
Other Things to Note
A/C- No, but you won't need it. There is a constant breeze off the ocean! There are extra fans as well.
Fancy Schmancy- No, who wants that! You have everything you need right here on the Beach! Enjoy your time!
Internet- YES! There is WiFi here at the house.
The reservation was canceled 31 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
This is pure gold! Seriously, this place is perfect, and Rachel and Adam are totally great hosts.
The beach is 40 feet away from the wrap around porch. You have a good sized room and a private bathroom. Everything is tiled and clean. They do a heroic job sweeping the sand away multiple times a day, but since you're right on the beach you end up loosing the battle with sand, and salt, and sun, and (at night) crabs.... but who cares???
You are sleeping to the sound of waves, waking up to walk on a very sparsely populated beach (it might as well be private), and the sunsets are spectacular. There's a turtle hatchery a short walk down the beach. There's a troop of monkeys which visit every few days (twice in our week there) and a mother sloth, with baby, was in the neighbor's tree. We took a kayak tour of mangroves, we took horseback rides on the beach, we heard about rafting, and waterfalls, and several other activities. We took day trips to nearby Uvita, Dominical, Quepos, and Manuel Antonio. They were all great, but it may be that we were happiest right at Dos Palmas, on Playa Matapalo.
We picked this place after a fair amount of searching in the area of Manuel Antonio National Park, but we weren't exactly sure what we'd find. We found something that suited us perfectly. Not luxury, not fancy, not touristy, not run-down... a great mix of comfortable, clean, convenient, affordable, attractive, and right-on-the-beach.
I highly recommend this place. I also highly recommend Adam and Rachel, they provided a great fruit and eggs breakfast, they helped us book several tours, and recommended places to go or eat. They were very friendly, and obviously cool people.
