With Glasgow only a 20 minute journey by train (25 mins by bus) and the local train station and bus stop only a few minutes away, this is an ideal place to stay while visiting Glasgow and its surrounding areas.
Strictly NO SMOKING.
I don't charge a cleaning fee to keep costs down so guests are asked to leave the place tidy when leaving.
"Scotland's largest city is a friendly, bustling town with imposing 19th-century buildings, vibrant theatre life, the most talked-about independent music scene outside the USA and watering holes that run the gamut from trendy bars to traditional pubs. The city's buses and metro system make it easy to explore. Don't miss the re-opened Kelvingrove Art Museum, the Victorian Necropolis, or the surprisingly delicious local delicacy: deep-fried pizza. Glasgow is the gateway to the Highlands and Islands."
Guests have full access to the apartment. I will be staying elsewhere. The only area off limits is the attic where I keep some of my belongings.
Please note I have a fairly flexible check in policy however on days I have college commitments that I can't get out of or my friend is not available then check in time may be early evening. The other alternative is that if you happen to know anyone in Glasgow I can leave keys with them for you to collect or for them to meet you.
Interaction with Guests
I leave guests to it for their stay and only arrange to visit to collect mail for stays which last a few weeks or more.
I only ask people to treat the place as if it is their own.
It is an apartment in a block of 6 flats in total and would like tenants to respect the communal area and staircase. Please respect the neighbours below the apartment.
Strictly NO SMOKING.
Please leave the place tidy after your stay.
We (family of 2 adults and 2 kids aged 9 and 11) had a very comfortable stay at this nice, clean and tidy apartment.
The location is perfect for visiting Glasgow city being so close to a train station with a direct train to the city centre (in max. 20 mins).
We slept very well, it's nice and quiet and the kitchen is very well (website hidden) is nice and big with loads of channels to choose from (nice for kids).
We'll stay here again whenever we visit Glasgow in the future.
Nice flat, exactly as described. Clean, all the space needed for 3 adults no doubt 4 would be equally comfortable. Easy access to major routes into and around Glasgow.
We had a grest stay at Dereks apartment. Busby was a small, charming village and we didn't mind the 20 minute commute. Tha apartment was clean, and had what we needed.
Great flat in a lovely, peaceful location. Everything you could need and Derek left us very helpful information on local restaurants etc. We would gladly stay again.
Fabulous place! We thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Very short walk to the train, and a beautiful hotel for dinner. The place is very comfy. We hope to come back sometime and stay again!
Yes it was real pleasant stay there i Liked it infact we were 2 couple and all of us like the flat very much.
Derek is really nice host and nice person. He suggested some shopping area which was really good.
Lovely little flat in a quiet residential area. Derek couldn't have been more welcoming and more helpful - fantastic place to stay.
About the Host, Derek
I am originally from the Isle of Lewis (small Island north west scotland) and have lived in Glasgow for the last 13 years working in the city. I have several hobbies including watching sport (mainly football), read books on my kindle, walking and also watch tv and films. My first language is Gaelic however I am fluent in both English and Gaelic, I can also speak and understand a little bit of Spanish. I am embarking on a career in the Merchant Navy so my friend James helps me out with meeting and greeting guests when I am away!
