Ballyvaughan is nestled in the heart of the Burren on 'The Wild Atlantic Way' The Chalet is perched on the edge of Cappanawalla mountain overlooking the coastal village of Ballyvaughan with views of Galway Bay. An ideal place to experience the 'great outdoors' and be at one with nature. Sightseeing, walking/hiking, surfing, canoeing, swimming, yoga, writing/painting. Exploring the flora/fauna, limestone rock formation.

The space
The chalet is on the grounds of the main house. There is ample car parking. The chalet can comfortably sleep, 4 people. It's open plan with a comfortable mattress on the top level with a view to the sea and mountain. There is a futon bed(double) in the living area. The kitchen and shower/toilet are off the living area. The upper sleeping area of the chalet has a low roof, so standing is not possible. There is an induction hob, microwave, griddle, toaster, tea/ coffee making facility in the kitchen.
In keeping with peace and tranquillity, there is no wifi in the chalet but it can be accessed from the main house. If you are looking for peace and quiet or are a writer, painter, the chalet is ideal.
The wooden structure allows you be close to the elements ( wind/rain) in the warm cosy Chalet. On a sunny day, the sunshine enters every aspect of the Chalet due to the open plan. Listen to nature as its surrounds the Chalet.
Even though it nestled away, you are near the village and sights such as
the Aillwee Caves, Poulnabrone Dolmen, Doolin, Cliffs of Moher, Lahinch, Kinvarra, Aran Islands and much more.

Guest access
Guests can roam the grounds and use the tennis court.

Kate follows strict guidelines on the enhanced cleaning and sanitising of The Chalet for the comfort and safety of all guests. Bearing that in mind sometimes check-in times may vary but Kate will give advance notice.

The Chalet is airy and full of light to enhance the feeling of being at one with nature. In keeping with peace and tranquillity, there is no wifi in the chalet but it can be accessed from the main house. Kate will organise a taxi if required but will need advance notice.
Kate has two dogs, who are free to roam but stay in the main house. Please let Kate know if you are not comfortable with dogs.

There are numerous walks in the Burren( Green way). It is also a popular attraction for cyclists, rock climbers, surfers, kayaking, yoga and more. Bishopsquator beach is 7 minutes drive and its 20 minutes drive to Fanore beach. There are lots to explore in the local area, Neolithic period -Poulnabrone Dolmen, Historical structures, The Cliffs of Moher Geopark, The various flora and fauna. The Aillwee Caves. The village of Ballyvaughan has numerous eateries from the beautiful tea and garden rooms, the soda parlour, and Monks seafood restaurant and bar.
