Deer Ranch is a newly remodeled 2 bedroom, 2 bath, 1600 sq ft home with a 6-person outdoor hot tub and plunge pool. This contemporary Frank Lloyd Wright-styled-like home sits on top of a hill, covering 4+ acres. The meadows below and towering redwoods add to a peaceful lot of seclusion and still only minutes from the hamlet of Occidental (1.3 miles). Pool is open during the summer months only (late May - early October). Hot tub is on all year-round.

The space
The open living areas allow easy sliding door access to a large outdoor deck from three different rooms. The serene views and feeling of tranquility is a statement by all whom visit. Inside, vaulted open wood beam ceilings and floors throughout home with a cozy wood burning stove make this a perfect romantic and family/friend getaway. The property receives a lot of sun and light across the grounds which illuminates the home through its many windows from dawn till dusk. Step outside the deck and enjoy the hot tub year-round, with surrounding redwoods and forest.

The designer/owner has kept the charm of the oak kitchen countertops, cabinet doors and redwood gas stove top vent which ascends to the ceiling like a sculpture. State-of-the-art stainless steel appliances installed, all new designer furniture, and a remodeled Moroccan style master bath embrace the homes’ charm. Larger openings have been created between two living areas flowing into master bedroom. An outdoor coat of dark grey/black paint, stained beams transform and maintain the original contemporary feel. This is a must see ranch home unique with clean lines, fitting perfectly into the surroundings, giving you an indoor/outdoor feel.

This property sits on a large lot. There are decks, steps, staircases and uneven surfaces that are not toddler-friendly. We encourage visiting with kids 7 and older but not suitable for toddlers. Hot tub is on all year-round and plunge pool is open only May through October.

The property is pet-friendly, so 1-2 well-behaved dogs are welcomed to stay. There will be an additional $150 pet cleaning fee if a dog is coming with your group and it will be charged separately from your reservation.
