The apartment is more than just a place to stay, its the sort of place that will make your stay in Nicosia more memorable.
Its bright, with open spaces and a spacious, decked terrace offers up spectacular views of the Kyrenia mountain range.
The living room has three huge double glazed windows which can slide into the walls. This opens up the space even more by connecting the indoor with the outdoor.
The building itself was built in 1975. The flat underwent a full renovation to make the most of the larger spaces that these older apartments tend to offer.
Enjoy breakfast in the sunshine, an al-fresco barbeque or nights with a glass of wine watching the sun go down.
It has windows which face north, east, south and west making it easy to adjust the light or catch the breeze. The apartment tends to keep cool in the summer months and relatively warm in the winter.
You can get to the beginning of the the walled old city within a 20 minute walk, the center of the old city is a 30 minute walk or a 5 minute drive or cycle.
If you would like some food shopping done, that can be arranged, so when you walk in you can just start enjoying the apartment and Nicosia straight away.

The neighborhood of Ayios Andreas in Nicosia, formally known as Tophane, is tranquil and contains some of the oldest, largest and most beautiful houses in the capital. The neighborhood is well serviced and most things can be found within a few minutes walk from the apartment.
Ayios Andreas is one of Nicosia's 24 historic neighborhoods that can be found within the walls. In 1923 it was extended to encompass an area outside the walls.
Ayios Andreas was a prestigious neighborhood, where Turkish, Greek and Armenian Cypriots used to coexist together with the Latins. In Turkish Tophane literally means "the cannon’s house" or "arsenal", and the house (called "Castelliotissa"), which the area derived its name from, can still be found in the neighborhood. In September 1945, the Ottoman name of the Tophane neighborhood was changed into Ayios Andreas.
Castelliotissa, which is near the Paphos Gate, was originally a part of the second Royal Palace of the French Lusignan royal dynasty of Cyprus. It was later used as a munitions storage by the Ottomans and that is when the area received the name of Tophane. It continued as a storage site during the period of British rule.
After 1960, there were no Turkish Cypriots living in the neighborhood and the last Turkish name, that of Tophane Mesdjidi Street, where mainly Turkish Cypriots resided, was changed into Granikou Street sometime after 1963.
There is bus stop within a 2 minute walk from the apartment that can take you to the city center / the old city in a few minutes.

Very nice place, neat, clean, and modernly designed, relatively quite neighbourhood, over all my stay was amazing here, i recommend it
The apartment was really nice and spacious and we like liked staying there. Mario was a very accommodating host and we spent some time together dining locally the first evening, and while he arranged for the heating unit to be fixed - highly appreciated because this winter was freezing cold! The big terrace seems perfect for the summer.
We stayed in Mario and Alex's sun-filled apartment for a week and had a great stay. Mario is a friendly, responsive host who was kind enough to meet us for a later check-in. The view from the apartment is amazing; just watching the clouds flow over the mountains is a great afternoon activity. The main bed is almost impossibly comfortable and the neighborhood is quiet, so we slept very well. Both the host and apartment are highly recommended.
We managed well staying here without a car, but we're rather fond of walking. We walked to the center of town most days - it's about 20 minutes, give or take. There are also good food options - both restaurants and groceries - within 5-10 minutes walk from the apartment.
Mario & Alex's flat is very nice - certainly spacious, and it was nice and clean. The kitchen is well equipped and the TV huge! It's in a nice neighbourhood. Right next door to the British Ambassador's residence in fact. And the Australian one too! The balcony looks lovely, but as it was so cold during our visit we did not really use it. On arrival we were greeted by Androulla, who made sure that we knew where everything was, and that we could use the keys properly. It is a real home from home in Nicosia! Thanks, Mario and Alex!
First, the apartment is lovely…the views and the terrace are amazing. On a nice day, you can slide open the 3 glass door to have on big continuous space. The living room is very comfortable and include TV and great speaker system, in which you can plug in your music device. Second, the apartment was very clean and had all that we needed (including a great espresso maker) was available. Third (and most important), Mario was very helpful and responsive to any request or question that we had. The walk into the old city is about 15 min and the neighborhood is quiet and pleasant. We are planning to stay at the apartment again..when we visit Nicosia.
We had a great time in Nicosia and at Mario's apartment. The place is really amazing, very spacious, especially the living-room that opens up to a huge terrace, offering a nice view to the surrounding mountains. We stayed here for one month and can fully recommend this place for long or short-term holidays even during wintertime. The apartment is more than just a space for sleeping but a great place to spend your time reading, working, watching TV/playing videogames, cooking and hanging around... The neighbourhood is a suburban living-area, offering all the infrastructure you'll need ... pharmacies, bakery, restaurants, supermarkets... The distance to the city-center is about 20 minutes by foot and just a puddle jump by car or bike. It's a great basis to discover all parts of Cyprus within a day-trip... Mario was an easy-going and very helpful host. Once we had a problem with the shower and he showed up within half an hour to fix it. Never had any problems afterwards, everything was perfectly fine! The sweets we got from Mario at the end of our stay were a very nice gesture. Hope to come back one day;-)
My brother Alex and I have been using AirBnB since 2011 and its been a great adventure and service for us. Its lead to meeting many interesting people and seeing some great places along the way.
As Alex lives in Germany and I am based in Nicosia, most, if not all of your interaction will be with me. What a pleasure : P
Im laid back and open, like new experiences, meeting new people and live life one day at a time.
I love Cyprus, its the perfect place to go looking for an adventure on a motorbike. With sun in the summer, snow in the winter, beaches, mountains, mouthwatering food, good friends and ice cold beer what else could I ask for?
Wanna know more? Just ask ...
