Situated high in Montepertuso, Colle dell'ara offers breathtaking views over Positano. From the road, it's a challenging hike, about 200m up a track to the residence. Your luggage is taken up for you. The room we stayed in on the first floor was basic and clean with a private balcony and internal bathroom. Some rooms have the bathroom located in the hallway, so check if this is important to you. Downstairs are the common areas and main balcony where breakfast is served (weather permitting). Breakfast was a real surprise in an amazing way. Fresh fruit salad, yogurt, cheese, bread, frittata, cakes, tarts, boiled eggs and coffee. Now, the stunning views comes at a cost. You are a long way out of Positano - around 20 minutes by bus. If you dont have a car you will be dependent on the bus schedule which runs almost every hour between 07.40am and 10.20pm. Miss the last bus out of Positano, and it will cost €30 for a taxi back. The hosts were amazing, Marco, Giacomo and Michele (Pasquale was away). They arranged our transfer from Naples, offered advice on local dining, helped with restaurant reservations and even helped me when I padlocked my key inside my case. In summary, a wonderful experienc to complement a great trip to the Coast.

Pasquale and Marco were wonderful hosts! Everyone that helped us, answered questions, chatted with us, was just delightful. The rooms were simple and clean. The location was perfect. We had great breakfasts there. Of note, we had our favorite meal at La Terra, with Roberta as our waitress. She was darling and the food was the best. Many thanks to all of you for your hospitality. We had a beautiful time.

Pasquales Airbnb has breathtaking views over Positano and is a lovely place. The guys communicated well throughout and are very friendly. You need to get a bus into positano (the buses are once every hour) and you probably want to avoid taxis as they are around 40 euros. You also need to navigate a little hike up the mountain but that is a small price to pay for the best view of positano!

My husband and stayed at Colle dell'ara and it met all of our expectations. We wanted to be situated away from the city and in a quiet and relaxing spot and this fit what we were looking for perfectly. We were aware of having to climb up through the rugged stairs and path to access the place and that was part of what I thought made it special. Beautiful hike to the top and down. From our room we had a large patio area in which we had beautiful views of the Amalfi Coast overlooking Positano and of the surrounding mountains. Our room was comfortable with private bathroom and shower. The place is close to the Path of the Gods which is a must do if you enjoy nature and hiking. We ate at the restaurants the hosts recommended (very good food!!) and there is an option to get picked up and dropped off by these restaurants which I thought was a nice option. We rented a scooter and found that was a fun way to get around. You are quite a distance from the center of Positano, the roads are very narrow so you will either need to take the bus which has a regular route past the place or rent a car or scooter. Or if you need a driver the host Marco was really good at getting us a driver when we needed it. We hired a driver to take us there and back to the airport. You could take the bus but it sounded like a logistical nightmare to us compared to hiring a driver. To get to Colle dell'ara you will need to pay attention to the directions they give you. There is a well marked sign and near that is the button you push to summon the host. They then will come down and load your luggage on the ingenious lift and guide you up the road to where the stairs/path are. If you don't mind hiking uphill and love nature you will love this place. If I make it back to Almafi Coast I would definitely stay here again.

This B&B was absolutely stunning. We ended up spending a bit more time in our room than usual just because of the incredible view of Positano and the water. Definitely stay here if you have a chance.
