  • This B&B is perfect for visiting Positano or the Amalfi Coast. I believe Positano is the nicest of all the Amalfi Coast. The B&B is a little paradise. It is high in the mountain in Montepertuso which is simply an area of Positano (same city). It has the best views possible. The b&b is the highest one of all. You get a nice view of the sea, positano and Capri Island. We were on top of the clouds, literaly, sometimes. Beautiful. It felt like heaven. We stayed here for 6 nights at the end of October for our honeymoon. We had a room on the top floor. The balcony is huge and has nice view. Private bathroom. Very clean and a maid makes the bed each day and changes the towels after two-three days. The breakfast is great. Buffet style. Meats, breads, cereal, cheese, desserts, fruits, etc. coffee of your choice was also provided. perfect to start the day full and energized. They also organise a dinner made with the vegetables from their huge garden and local products. I'm in love with the Buffalo Mozzerella balls and their smoked cheese/ham appetizer. It was 30 euros and worth every penny. Huge meal and wine was included. Delicious and very creative! You also get to mingle with the rest of the guests.... Makes for interesting conversations. Our hosts was Pasqual and his father. Pasqual was super helpful and very friendly. Great advice. He gave us a bunch of lemoncello shots which they make... It was delicious. They also make other kinds of digestifs... We also tried walnuts, caroube and fennel. They were all great. The family is very generous and hospitable. I miss them already! They have a good philosophy on life and the way they run the b&b. it's a great family business. There was alway someone on site to help us when we needed something. Positano's best restaurants and very close to the b&b. walking distance or free shuttle provided. We returned to the same restaurant 3 times because it was so great: Il Ritrovo! La Tagliata was also very generous and delicious. Got there with an appetite! We easily visited Capri, Amalfi Coast, Pompei, Sorrento from here. The bus picks you up right in front of their driveway which is a short 5 minute hike downhill in the forest... Awesome! You can also hike down to Positano Beach in 45 min. The hike back to the b&b from Positano beach is also 45 minutes and a good workout for all we ate and drank. We did the hike 3 days in a row and it felts great! I highly, highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the Amalfi Coast!!! I could go on all day about how great this place was. No negative comments! :) Thanks for everything Pasqual! You were awesome. Say hello and thanks to your papa for us as well! It's too bad we couldnt speak to him in Italian.... Next time we're in Italy, we...

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay a Colle dell'Ara. During our extended vacation (30 days) we used Airbnb 7 times. All of them were in Italy and the duration varied from 2 to 6 nights. Just trying to establish that we know of what we speak.

Marco, Pasquale, and their father took such good care of us that we regarded them better than family.

The room, the food, the setting, the overall feel was absolutely unbeatable.

At first the accessibility had us wondering how it would all work out. But after realizing that it was part of the charm of this place, we would not have it any other way.

For our part, one thing we would change is to book weekdays, because Positano in general is busy on the weekend and the bus ride to and from downtown is crowded and slow.

We can only say that "We shall return".

Thanks for a world class experience.

  • Colle dell' Ara is incredible! It is situated in a beautiful location. The family is very helpful getting you up to the house, with your luggage. They have very good dinner suggestions for Positano and you definitely do not want to miss out on the dinner cooked by their wonderful father. This night happened to be my birthday and we had the most amazing dinner with some of the other guests! There was music, wonderful food, and this amazing view.
It was amazing. We read the reviews before we visited the house and it is really what it promises to be! So I would highly recommend this place! Unforgettable!

  • One of the very best places we have ever stayed.

The room was great, big private balcony and just an amazing view.
The location is wonderful, is was great to be out of the busy town, especially in the middle of the high season. The bus stops right nearby to take you into town often enough.

What makes this place so special though is the family running it. The three brothers were just outstanding. Giacomo, Pasquale and Marco are fantastic, and introduced us to their parents and girlfriends who all help out in running the B&B. they make you feel like part of the family and provide everything you could possibly need.

They greeted us with a glass of homemade ice-cold limoncello and told us about the history their family has in the town. Then we were invited to have dinner with them and the other guests on the terrace. €30 per head for one of the best meals we had in all of our 7 week trip in Europe. Included 4 courses, many wines, homemade digestives and many creations even without names because they were invented there in the kitchen.

We absolutely loved our time with the guys and would recommend this place to anyone. We were genuinely sad when we had to leave after our 4 night stay and will definitely stay in touch with the boys and return again in the future.

  • We loved our stay at colle dell'ara, everything was perfect and we wouldn't have changed a thing. The bnb was very easy to get to and we enjoyed the stunning views of Positano but also the tranquility that came with staying just outside the town. The brothers were perfect hosts, they gave us very good advice about where to eat and the breakfast spread was very impressive. We would come back in a heartbeat!

  • The house and hosts were wonderful. Giacomo and family hosted two delicious homemade dinners using ingredients straight from their garden. We enjoyed the walk up to the house working off all the fabulous food we ate. Do wish they had AC but we still had a fabulous time.

  • Colle dell ara is a piece of paradise in Positano. Up on the mountain we had amazing views of the Amalfi coast from our large private balcony. Even though the bus takes time to get up and back to the beach it is well worth it. The room and private bathroom were clean new and roomy. It is private and very safe. Giacomo and Marco were wonderful hosts providing good breakfast, a wonderful home cooked dinner with home grown produce, lots of information about positano and interesting conversation. Made us feel so much at home. Loved the cappuccino marco!
    Would love to stay again!!
