Colle dell'ara is not a hotel. Staying with us, in our home, means treating yourself to a rare experience.
We are in Positano, in the small village of Montepertuso, located just above this corner of paradise on the Amalfi Coast.
The building is situated on top of the hill and can be reached on foot in 5-6 minutes through an ancient path, fully illuminated at night.
We are Pasquale and Giacomo, who with the help of our father Michele, a few years ago we decided to undertake this activity which constantly
is giving us the opportunity to convey to our guests our main passions for hospitality and good food. These passions, well-established in our
coastal land and agriculture, allowing us to constantly reinvent the offer to our guests dedicated, basing it on availability and seasonality values.
We host you in rooms equipped with private bathroom and balcony overlooking the sea of Positano between the islands of Capri and Li Galli. Each room has a large double bed (with the possibility of adding a single bed), and are equipped with linens, towels and toiletries. Free wi-fi connection is working in all our spaces. We provide you with keys for your independent access at every time.
Interaction with Guests
Upon your arrival you will find free parking slots along the road and we'll help you carry your luggage with a special pulling system.
We will assist you from beginning, accompanying you throughout whole of your stay suggesting you the best local amenities including activities from ourselves offered.
You will have here the opportunity to experience our land through different activities such us farming excursions and local cooking classes (events organized on reservation). We always include breakfast, different every day and based on availability of our gardens, or made by the breads and cakes that we daily prepare.
The center of Positano is reachable by bus in 20 minutes or 35-40 minutes through a centuries-long staircase. For trekking lovers, our structure is directly related to the main paths of Monti Lattari and the most famous Walkpath of God.
However, we are located at the center of several important location like Pompei, Capri, Amalfi, Ravello and Sorrento, reachable by ferry, bus or car. Nearby you will find shops and restaurants.
Giacomo and Pasquale were exceptional hosts! We LOVED the location... incredible views, peace & quiet away from the bustle of town, and a lovely home. (And the walk to the house from the road really isn't bad at all, compared to walking around Positano!) The dinner was fantastic too! Thanks Giacomo for your hospitality!
We had the most amazing week long holiday staying at Colle dell'ara this September. When we arrived we were blown away by the whole place, especially the view which is absolutely stunning. We took so many photos of the view, it was like looking at a postcard every morning. Pasquale and Giacomo were the perfect hosts and gave us great advice on places to see and restaurants to visit. The meal cooked by Giacomo and Pasquale was delicious and great value. The meal was a really social occasion and was great to meet other people staying at the B&B. We absolutely loved our time at Colle dell'ara and have been recommending it to all our friends and family!
A highlight of our holiday in Italy! Away from the chaos and noise of Positano but with true charm and character. Family run business on their family home built by dad and grand dad. Pasquale is fantastic in assisting with excursions and restaurant recommendations. Family dinner is a must! Really taste of the region. The walk to the house from the road is really only a consideration if medical conditions prevail. Stayed an extra night as we loved the place so much! The Trusty Driver is well worth the convenience. Wonderful magical Colle dell'ara!
Fantastic experience in the heights above Positano. Great hosts that really looked after us, made bookings for wonderful in-expensive restaurants (Il Ritrovo and Da Adolfo) served organic homegrown vegetarian menu for community dinner £30 includes wine limoncello and great conversation with other guests. I loved the breakfasts on the terrace with fantastic view over Positano. It's located in Unesco national park so be prepared to walk up the winding steps from the road 5 mins (luggage goes up separately) and the rustic charm of the gardens and accommodation - basic, very comfortable bed, good bathroom, small fridge (no tea/ coffee facilities) with amazing views and Walk of the Gods just nearby (we did halfway and back easy 1.5 hrs). Superb views on path down to Positano, easy, safe but sore muscles next day ! We did it twice down (my husband did twice back while I caught local bus back!) highly recommend this place as is quieter, traditional away from touristic areas but so worth it if you're up for the adventure!
We had a most wonderful time staying at this beautiful home. It is so high up you feel like you are staying in the clouds! The family was so kind and made us feel comfortable. The room was big, bright and very clean. The breakfast on the terrace was amazing and fresh.
We took the beautiful walk by stairs down to positano and got some fantastic photos on the way. We took the shuttle to positano and back a few times, it's the second last stop going back. It's further away from positano, but this was not a problem for us as we had our own car and were able to go visit other places in amalfi, easier than being stuck in the traffic down in positano. Parking in positano is about 2-3 euro per hour. We highly recommend this property and would love to return one day.
We had a very nice stay at this wonderful b&b,our hosts were very attentive and helpful, they ensured that we were happy at all times and the easy relaxed feel of the b&b made it easy to meet the other guests and we hope to one day return to this place....
..things started off with a friendly and informative greeting, but have to say from there we were disappointed. The room we got was not what was booked with no en suite, and a bathroom some distance away. We were ok with the mix up and we were offered a bottle of wine in return, however that was never made good. Making maters even less favorable was a shower that ran either cold or hot and little in between, with no pressure, not at all acceptable. The room was comfortable and clean with great views, no problem there and the breakfast and service was good.
We actually got a watering problem in the building, so we asked them the favor to stay "only one night" in a another room. They refused to get the other room the day after.
It was very difficoult to interact with them. A very withdrawn couple.
About the bottle we wished to give them in return, it was not given because they left the place in the sly, even without say goodbye!

Hello everybody! I'm Pasquale.
I am graduated in Political Science and after many trips around the world I decided to return in Positano and running here, with my brothers and my family this "adventure" based on hospitality.
We always hope to offer you a new wonderful family experience in the heart of nature, good food and wine, and Slow Life!
