THE OUTDOOR BATH-HOUSE IS CLOSED FOR WINTER*
Snuggle in at the Lake-View Cozy Nest near Slocan Lake (2-night minimum). We've included everything you need, think "tiny house living" and you'll have the idea. Well-appointed, private tiny-suite with lake/mountain view, a comfy double bed, en-suite powder room, sheltered flagstone patio and outdoor fireplace. Toaster-oven, coffee-maker, kettle. * In winter, shower in shared bathroom, in summer enjoy the unique Kootenay-style outdoor bath/shower.

The space
THE BATH-HOUSE AND OUTDOOR SHOWER ARE CURRENTLY CLOSED FOR THE WINTER (anticipated reopening date is approximately May 1st, weather dependent).

The tiny-suite includes an en-suite powder room (toilet and sink). A shower is available for your use year-round in our upstairs bathroom.

Guests call the Lake-View Cozy Nest tiny-suite the "guest womb" because it's so snug, private and well-appointed. Think tiny-house living and you'll have the idea.

There is a pillow-top double bed (a DOUBLE, not a queen), a comfortable chair with a good light for reading, a coffee/tea station and a toaster-oven. No fridge but a cooler with ice packs is provided. Good wi-fi. There's a counter with bar-stools at the window where you can sip your beverage of choice with a pretty spectacular view of Slocan Lake and the Valhalla mountain range.

NEW as of summer 2020 you can have a relaxing bath or invigorating shower in our beautiful and unique outdoor bath-house (spring/summer/fall, closed in winter).

The Lake-View Cozy Nest tiny-suite is part of our farm property in Hills, BC. You can meet our chickens if you wish, you may see a mother deer with her fawns, or a flock of wild turkeys may wander by. Enjoy rural living at its finest. We look forward to welcoming you.

Guest access
The Lake-View Cozy Nest tiny-suite, en-suite powder room, flagstone patio and outdoor lawn area (including outdoor fireplace) are your private space.

The tiny-suite is located in the lower walk-out level of our timber-frame home. It is totally self-contained and separate from the rest of the building. The photos with this listing show its location.

You'll have a private entrance at the front, facing the lake. The sheltered, covered, flagstone patio is yours for relaxing outdoors: consider it your outdoor living room. The tiny-suite features an en-suite bathroom (sink and toilet).

In spring/summer/fall, the bath-house and outdoor shower are yours to enjoy at any time of the day or night... sprinkle in some lavender bath salts and light some candles, it's super romantic! The bath/shower space is sheltered from view (except possibly from the mother deer and fawns who occasionally visit our orchard) and completely private. Please note it is available in spring/summer/fall but not in winter. (In winter we encourage guests to visit the Nakusp Hot Springs). As well, there is an indoor shower for your use in our shared bathroom upstairs.

The tiny-suite features a decent-sized toaster-oven, a small coffee maker, kettle, some dishes and cutlery plus a cooler (we provide fresh ice packs daily).

Space is minimal for food preparation but guests manage fine preparing a simple breakfast or snack or heating up a take-out meal. (There isn't room to go on a cooking extravaganza, take a look at the photos and judge accordingly!)

Other things to note
- Level 2 Electric Vehicle charging station available for guest use.
- Land-line phone can be used free for calls within North America, good wi-fi, decent cell reception.
- Toaster-oven in the space for heating up food.
- Guests must do their own dishes, soap, dishcloths etc. are provided.
- You'll find we are friendly and helpful hosts, if you need something, just ask.

You will find me a helpful and accommodating host. I enjoy my farm lifestyle and my chickens, I love where I live, I'm active in my community and I'm a conservationist. I helped establish our local community foundation, the Slocan Valley Legacy Fund. Am currently a director of two environmental organizations, helped protect a local wetland and three nature sanctuaries in BC. I've lived in the Slocan Valley for +25 years and am a huge fan of our wild and beautiful region. We are less than 3 minutes from Slocan Lake and situated on a network of world-class hiking and cycling trails. I work to protect the natural beauty of our area and I enjoy sharing it with my guests. When you stay at my Lake-View Cozy Nest, my mission is to provide "country solace for city folks." Guests love our farm setting, the peace and quiet, and our lake and mountain view. This year's addition to our guest offering is an outdoor bath-house and shower, it's been greeted with rave reviews! I'm really proud of my heritage-breed chickens and would love for you to meet them, if you want. My style of hosting is to treat my guests as friends come to visit, yet you have complete privacy when in your space. I pride myself (my nickname is "The Dutch Cleanser") on providing a clean and well-appointed accommodation. When not working, I play clarinet in several bands and groups, enjoy hiking and outdoor pursuits, and reading. Fave books: anything by Barbara Kingsolver, Vladimir Nabokov, Hillary Mantel, and (my guilty pleasure) the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon. I look forward to meeting you... - Your host, Lorna

During your stay
The guest space is a tiny-suite on a separate level of the house (walk-out basement level) and therefore totally private; you won't hear us nor will we hear you. You have a private entrance and can come and go as you please without disturbing anyone.
The accommodation is totally self-contained and your stay can be zero contact with your host if you wish. When we chat with you it will be outdoors, +6 feet away and I'll be wearing a mask.
And of course everything is washed and cleaned thoroughly and sanitized before and after every guest.
