Where you’ll be

Lytham Saint Annes, England, United Kingdom

Granny’s bay is just a 2-minute walk from the house, famous for its bird wildlife. The lovely Fairhaven Lake is at the end of the road with all its wide, open green spaces, coastal walk and amenities, such as tennis, boating lake, café and crazy golf.
A short stroll brings you into vibrant Lytham with all its cafés, bars and excellent restaurants, the famous Lytham Green and windmill. The small museum in the windmill opens to the public in the summer months. Lytham Green provides the backdrop for the famous Lytham Proms music festival, when the town is buzzing with a whole week of live music, theatre and comedy.
St Annes (a 5 minute drive) in the other direction, is a historic traditional seaside town with its stunning beach stretching for miles to Blackpool. There is the lovely traditional pier with its stunning views up and down the beach, slot machines, cafes, and fish and chips.
St Annes also plays host to the annual World Kite Festival when hundreds of fantastic, elaborate and unique kites are flown on St Annes beach creating a marvellous and colourful backdrop. It is a stunning spectacle to behold! The festival brings a party atmosphere to the town with stalls, children’s rides, street food and live music down on the beach.
Alpine Gardens on the promenade is a pretty area with it’s waterfall, pebble bridges and children’s play area. There is a miniature train ride, trampolines, pitch and putt, paddling and boating lake.
Golfers are very well catered for, Royal Lytham and StAnnes Golf Club is a five minute drive from the house and the fourteenth green is only a five minute walk. You can also enjoy a round at Fairhaven Golf Club, Green Drive Golf Club as well as Old Links Golf Club in St Annes. Royal Birkdale is an easy distance by car for those who want to maximise golf opportunities.
The house is also only a 10 minute walk to Lowther Gardens with its café, theatre, gardens, pitch and putt and crazy golf. There is a busy theatre schedule all year round to include plays, cinema and comedy nights as well as regular music events.
Park View is another lovely park for the children in Lytham, with a delightful children’s play area, water and sand play area, woodland walk, activity areas for the older children such as basketball, football pitches and outdoor gym and a lovely dog friendly café.
Clifton Hall can also be found in Lytham and is a lovely area for walking the dog, cycling and running. There is a lovely café there with outdoor seating and the grounds play host to a schedule of outdoor theatre through the summer months. The snowdrop walk is a local favourite in the early springtime.
