Don't feed the monkeys!
We loved staying at Casa Lunatica. Angie met us at El Avion and we followed her to the house. You definitely need to be an experienced and confident driver to get to and from the house because the street is extremely steep and narrow. The house is beautiful and clean with a wonderful view. We were surrounded by a tropical paradise. The hosts left a beautiful floral arrangement and drinks in the fridge to welcome us. Loved all the wildlife. We would highly recommend casa lunatica and would love to visit again.
We had a wonderful time at Casa Lunatica and I would definitely recommend staying there! The views of the rain forest and ocean are stunning and the apartment is very clean/well cared for! In fact there is a maid that comes every other day to help keep things clean. It has all the essentials you will need and is well stocked for cooking light meals or preparing breakfast. There was coffee, milk, and orange juice already waiting for us when we got there. Thomas and his team are incredibly responsive and will help you organize anything you need. I enjoyed a nice massage on the deck with the sounds of the rainforest in the background. You might also get some little monkey visitors and iguanas on the deck. You are able to walk to many restaurants and the beach (be ready for a bit of a longer walk) from Lunatica but be prepared for the hills of Manuel Antonio. There is an incredibly steep hill that you climb to get to the main road from the house but I was 8 months pregnant at the time and still managed it. You also have access to many cabs and the bus which will take you where you want to go. At the end of the day you can relax in the hammocks on the deck and the air conditioning in the bedrooms works well when it's time to go to sleep. The walls of the bedroom and bathroom don't quite reach the ceiling and it is more of an open floor plan so be aware of that if you are sharing with another couple. There is a safe in one of the rooms to keep your passports, valuables, etc., in. Casa Lunatica and Manuel Antonio is a great place to relax and unwind. The wi-fi worked well when we needed it but this is a great chance to disconnect from technology and reconnect with the nature and life going on around you.
Our stay at Casa Luna Tica was excellent! The apartment is perfectly located and very nice (cosy, great decoration, great equipments, amazing view...). Everything was perfect.
Thomas and Lili were always available (when we called them), very helpful (to organize transportation) and attentive (they bought for us some foods and drinks). It was very appreciable.
I fully recommend this place.
The apartment has stunning views of the Pacific and monkeys visit the surrounding trees . In fact, we had a great encounter with a family of monkeys who came up on our deck.
But, the information provided to us about a parking space and six steps to the casa was inadequate as the drive to the parking space from the road was daunting! We chose to leave the car on the road and walk up and down a challenging climb.
Thomas and Angie were helpful and dealt with some minor problems promptly. A great place but not for those who cannot handle the steep climb/drive.
Thomas and his crew were fantastic. They made us feel welcome and helped with many arrangements like transportation, groceries etc. When our daughter's flight was delayed he was in constant contact with us and her helping her get to Manuel Antonio safely. The house was as advertised and very comfortable, however the bedrooms and bathrooms were open at the ceiling and might be considered semi private. The view was unmatched for its beauty and the monkeys were adorable. Wish we could've stayed longer. This apartment is not for those who have any mobility issues due to the number of steep steps from the street.
Beautiful house! The view just never gets old. We felt safe and secluded. Angie was helpful. The road going in and out of the house is incredibly steep!

Moved from Switzerland 16 years ago, just love it here! The people are "pura vida", life is so easy, the climate is very healthy! Very lucky to have purchased a big piece of property in the Playa Macha area, declared as green zone, where I offer the Tree House and Villa Malinche. It's almost like the National Park, lot's of wildlife and very peaceful, surrounded by lush rain forest!
My wife Lili is a licensed physic therapist, also with a great dedication for massage treatments, she can make you feel in heaven.... Don't miss an onsite treatment during your stay!
We are happy to share this relaxed jungle feeling on our property with the people we meet through Airbnb. Just lay back in the hammocks, taste the famous coffee and watch the monkeys fly by...
