Riad Najmati is built around an enclosed courtyard, on three levels, rising to the terrace with wonderful panoramic views and the spectacular Atlas mountains in the distance. The terrace is designed for relaxing. It has sun-beds, a furnished tent (for shade and cool), fridge and a table for breakfast and dinner. Riad Najmati especially welcomes those who want to experience the very largely unspoilt heart of an ancient North African city renowned for its history, music, culture, architecture, vibrant life and welcoming people. From the moment the manager, or a colleague meets you at the airport or station, if requested, he will look after you and make sure your stay is enjoyable. He prepares and serves your breakfast. If requested he can arrange dinner. The riad has all the facilities and charm you would expect from a faithfully restored building dating back about 300 years. It is offered on a bed and breakfast basis, with self-catering facilities if required. The manager is often on site, for the comfort and security of guests, and when not onsite lives nearby.

Other things to note
I strongly advise you ask me to arrange that you are met at the airport/station by taxi and taken to the riad. This is the only way you can be guaranteed to find the riad safely and promptly, with the minimum of fuss.
There is a modest charge for this service of 250dh (local currency) payable after you have arrived.
Pricing depends on the number of visitors, length of stay, number of bedrooms used, season of year, and whether you are returning guests, etc.
Bedrooms are let on the basis that if 1 or 2 people make a reservation they will use/share a double bedroom.
If 3 or 4 people make a reservation then they will use the second bedroom.
Please note: if 2 people make a reservation but require a bedroom each a special rate applies. Ask for details prior to booking please.
I send a letter with helpful, practical information to all guests usually about 1-2 weeks before their arrival.
Access to the riad in through narrow, but flat lanes. The nearest a taxi can come to the riad is 500 yards.
There are no specially adapted facilities for those with mobility problems or wheelchairs. Sorry.
There are two steep staircases, with handrails.
The riad has an internal, enclosed courtyard at ground level, with an adjacent salon and kitchen, a semi-enclosed balcony with chaise longue bed on the first floor, and a private terrace on the third level, with tent (very romantic!), sun beds and a barbecue.
Respect for local culture and customs - which is not onerous as Moroccans are relaxed, friendly and open-minded people, with a great sense of humour.
Commonsense, flexibility, a relaxed sense of humour, and a prudent awareness this is North Africa, where poverty and deprivation is the norm, will take you far; so will an understanding that the infrastructure will not always be of the same standard as in wealthier countries. Illiteracy levels are high, and good quality health-care beyond the reach of many.
Safety and Security: as in any urban environment, anywhere in the world, sensible precautions are advisable but there is no need to be anxious especially if you remain vigilant and alert. There are many police in the city, uniformed and plain clothes, as well as security personnel.
Marrakesh is close to the desert. This means wind, heat, and dust are not uncommon especially in the summer months.
It is also a city close to the Atlas mountains. This means rain, and occasional dramatic thunderstorms, as well as snow in the distance, are not uncommon in the winter months.
Smoking on terrace is fine. Please be quiet especially after midnight, out of respect to neighbours. Parties by prior arrangement only. Please consult before bringing any pet(s). Alcohol is permitted.
Cancel up to 7 days before your trip and get a 50% refund plus service fees back.
