Your Booking Helps Alex Fight Cancer!
Since losing my job in November 2013, I've been the primary caregiver for Alex, my partner of 15 years. Alex is suffering from incurable Stage IV rectal cancer and requires 24/7 assistance. Proceeds from bookings help us pay living expenses and medical expenses not covered by insurance, like transportation to/from the hospital for radiation and chemotherapy.
I've very proud to have raised over $22,000 in an online fundraiser to help pay his medical expenses. To learn more, just search for these words: Help Alex Fight Cancer Fortunato. Without proceeds from guests like you, Alex and I would lose our home and would not be able to continue our fight against cancer.

We had a great stay at Jerry and Alex's apartment. It is indeed as good as it appears in the photos, with a lovely, light, spacious main room; the five of us, including two late-teen-agers, fitted comfortably. It is a real home, with interesting ornaments and personal touches. Our son loved the opportunity to stream his music through the sound system, and we all enjoyed having Netflix available. The kitchen was fine for us to cook at home when we chose to. And the location is of course so convenient, with the High Line nearby in one direction and various restaurants and grocery stores in the other. Jerry was kind and helpful whenever we needed. Highly recommended.
The experience at Jerry's home was fantastic. They were welcoming and lovely. the apartment was really cozy with good beds and great TVs everywhere. It was nice to be able to come home and watch a movie or zone out in front of the TV on the cozy couch ( and a working fireplace!). Also very easy access to the subway was a huge plus.
Hope to stay again sometime.

I'm an easy-going professional New Yorker, originally from NJ. As soon as I got my MBA from Rutgers University in 2000, I moved into this Chelsea townhouse with my partner Alex. For a few years we had two apartments, one of which I rented to visitors. You can see many positive reviews for the second apartment.
