We stayed in Morris and Yuka ' s beautiful guest house on the first stage of our Hawaiian adventure and we couldn't have had a better welcome after a 30 hour journey. There were many gifts and lovely surprises to make us feel special and the ingredients for a lovely breakfast were provided. The house itself is airy and spacious and decorated to a high standard - excellent value for money too! Situated just off the main road, access to àll the wonderful local attractions is easy. Morris himself is an excellent host and very helpful- even providing a suitcase when one of ours had broken in transit.
Morris and Yuka were awesome host with a beautiful guest house. They were very responsive before our arrival and met us to show us around. They even had us over for shaved ice and left us with a volcano DVD as a souvenir.
There is plenty of space on the main level and in both bedrooms. The baths are well stocked and have great water pressure and temperature.
We would *definitely* stay here again.
Morris and Yuka's place is so wonderful! It's close to the Hilo airport, just around 15 minutes' drive. We were warmly welcomed by Yuka once we arrived. She showed us around the guest house and my mother and I were completely stunned by the beautiful design of the house. The house is clean, spacious and has everything we needed (cutlery, towels, etc), it even has a swing! My mother kept taking photos of the house, saying it's so beautiful after Yuka left :) Morris and Yuka were so nice and thoughtful. They prepared the first breakfast for us (homemade waffle, eggs and fruits) and gave us many surprising gifts (a bootle of wine, macadamia chocolate and coffee). We stayed for three nights and on the fourth morning when we dropped by their house to say goodbye, Morris gave us a special Hawaii quarter as a goodbye gift. We were so flattered :) Overall, the location is wonderful, the house is wonderful, the hosts are wonderful, you won't regret for choosing this place for a vacation :)
We had an incredible time. There was nothing that we needed. You guys were the perfect host. Your place was short of nothing. Very clean and as beautiful as your pictures.
My family and I absolutely loved our experience staying at Morris's guest house. The place was clean and we were so surprised by all Morris did.
Morris had a wonderful breakfast ready for us on our first day there. He also had fresh fruit, wine, and information about tourist attractions and food for us.
This was by far the best Airbnb experience we have ever had and if you are staying in Hilo, you must stay at Morris's!
Morris and Yuka can confidently claim: "We do AirBNB *right*!" They truly do! This is above superb attention to detail, this is about the warmth of Aloha glowing from our dear host from the very moment we set eyes on him. It's little things like the night-light in the corridor, the chocolate at the bedside, the towels wrapped in the shape of a puppy, the waffles with home-made coconut syrup for your first breakfast. The minute you walk into this home, you *feel* home. You *feel* you want to kick off your shoes (leave those at the door, this is what you do in Hawaii), settle into the sofa and have a glass of your favourite beverage, which Morris even contributes to. The cleanliness, the quality of the bed (like sleeping in a cloud!), brilliant internet speeds... everything about this place says quality.
You're close to volcano, close to Pahoa and Kalapana and Pohoiki and all that, close to Hilo -- 15 to 20 minutes, tops -- and with the improvements to the road soon to be finished, the travel time to destinations even further away (like Akaka Falls, Hamakua Coast and Punaluu) will be significantly shortened.
I so wish others would take Morris's correspondence course on how to do AirBnb: nowhere have we ever encountered such a total first-class experience. And we love AirBnb.
Morris and Yuka stand head-and-shoulders above all the rest.
This was our first experience with airbnb and it exceeds all expectations. Morris & Yuka are TOP of the line hosts. The listing was very accurate and was everything they said it was plus so much more. We felt like "their" personal house guests. We'd definitely stay again if visiting the big island. I've already recommended this listing to several of our friends. Thank you again for a wonderful place.
We love the Big Island, the best of all the islands in Hawaii. There are so many things you can enjoy on this island: beautiful stars, beaches, Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, snow atop Mauna Kea and tropical fruits all year. We love to meet people who visit from all over the world.
