Morris and Yuka provided the most unbelievable sense of hospitality, I would give them 10 stars if I could. A delicious breakfast was provided for the first morning, along with lots of fresh fruit and a beautiful dining table set-up. Morris also arranged to give us a tour of the property and a tasting of the fruit from the property, which is really going above and beyond! Morris and Yuka really go out of their way to make your stay special.
The house is huge and has really unique 60's mod architecture. We were only 4 people, the house would comfortably accommodate 6 or more. The house was also fully stocked with anything you needed- towels, kitchen gear, beach stuff (snorkel stuff, towels, chairs, umbrellas), and even winter jackets so we could enjoy the summit of Mauna Kea. The location was great- about a 15 minute drive to Hilo town and relatively close to all the sights on the Hilo side of the island.
We had a wonderful time!
Morris and Yuka are kind wonderful hosts! They made us feel very welcome during our stay. The Guest House is quite spacious and is equipped with everything that we needed - beach chairs, swimming gear, flashlights, toiletries, etc. Morris & Yuka are so generous and thought of every possible detail to make our vacation that much more special. They provided fresh fruits, a scrumptious breakfast and other thoughtful little gifts we enjoyed so much, as well places to visit in the area and restaurant recommendations. The Guest House is located in a central location, near to Volcanoes National Park. Morris' shave ice was very yummy and he was wonderful to speak with. This was our second time staying at the Guest House and we highly recommend this lovely place.
When I was planning our trip to Hawaii, I couldn’t decide which island we should stay on until I came upon Guest House. After seeing the pictures and reading all the reviews, I knew I had to stay here and I was not disappointed. Morris and Yuka are gentle, genuine, and generous. You can tell that they put in a lot of thought preparing Guest House for all their guests. The house has everything you need for all the activities you do on the island: warm coats, thermal water bottles, beach and snorkeling gear, strong flash lights for spelunking, and coolers to bring your food. We saved a lot of money and time by bringing our own lunch for our daily outings. The house itself is well-designed, breezy, and spacious, and two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and the full kitchen is a big plus. This is our first time using Airbnb and we were so lucky to stay at the Guest House. We would definitely come back to Guest House if we visit Big Island again.
We felt very welcome. Morris is a wonderful host. Our breakfast was great as was the house. I would highly recommend it. We loved the shaved ice he made for us. He was also very helpful with suggestion of where to take my daughter for illness which was not far from their house.
Morris and Yuka were exceptional hosts. Our stay at their private guest house was wonderful, and they made us feel right at home. The photos and description of the house were very accurate. They provided a delicious first morning's breakfast and several other tasty surprises. We loved Morris' tour of the property and learning about all the different fruit trees. The fruit tasting and shaved ice were a great treat! While the location was a bit noisy from the highway and neighbor's roosters, they provided ear plugs, and it was a prime central location for quick access to multiple outdoor excursions -- Volcanoes National Park, Pahoa, and Hilo. Morris was the most friendly and accommodating host we have ever rented from. Everything we needed was in the home, including snorkeling gear. They were so kind and generous during our stay, if we find ourselves on the Big Island in the future, we will be sure to come back to Morris and Yuka's guest house!
What can I say about our stay with Morris and Yuka that hasn't already been said? The glowing reviews are all true! We only met Morris during our stay, but he was such a sweet, kind, giving person! The house was easily big enough to fit two families with kids and it seems that Morris and Yuka have thought of everything from toothpaste, shampoo, and sunscreen to beach chairs, high chairs, and umbrellas that they charge so little boggles the mind. I would definitely come back and will recommend them to all my friends!
About the Host, Morris & Yuka
