About this listing

Huge Art Deco apartment1930/One of the best neighbourhood in Montreal!
Close to Jean-Talon Market&Plaza Saint-Hubert&Jean-Talon, Beaubien&Bixi Stations! Good for shopping&coffee/Lot of bars&restaurants!
Free public parking/Easy access to Downtown!

The space

The apartment is so huge (3500 ft2) that we call it « our castle ».
It would be long and boring to enumerate all the rooms (about 20).
There are 5 double bedrooms.
The apartment spreads over 2 floors and a basement, devoted to cinema thanks to its projection room (10 feets large screen). There is a piano, 3 toilets and common spaces are very sunny and very well organized.
There is so much rooms, and each bedroom is so large that you can always have rest and intimacy at anytime you need it.
The bedroom I rent offers two sofas, a desk, a bed, a wardrobe, towels and bedding.
It has a private access from the street, by a nice balcony.
This bedroom has been entirely renovated last winter. We stripped the brick wall, painted the wood floor and bought new furnitures.

You will have access to all common spaces: the kitchen with a dishwasher, the living room with piano, the boudoir and the dinning room; furthermore, the backyard and its flowers, berries and fine herbs, and obviously the projection room, the laundry and the workshop in the basement.

The building in which the apartment fits into is almost entirely devoted to travellers and students. Because the backyard is open to all the tenants, encounters are numerous and the atmosphere is very friendly. I live in the third floor so I can be there to welcome you and I am at your disposal during you stay.

At the heart of the Petite-Patrie, a few steps from Little Italy, about twenty minutes walk from Mile-end, 15 minutes from the famous Jean-Talon Market. Even closer, there is a multitude of organic, Asian, Mexican and French grocery stores.. a joy for curious palates. The environment is family but remains busy with a multitude of bars and restaurants.

In 7 minutes by walking, you can reach Beaubien (orange line) and Jean Talon (blue and orange line) metro stations. There is also a bus line on our street. I addition, there is a Bixi station (bike self-service) a one corner, on a bike way. Finally, if you travel by car, it is possible to park on Christophe Colomb Street for free.

The apartment has air conditioning but not the bedroom. The bedroom has one celling fan and a brand new oscillating fan.

The bathroom is old but we work hard to keep it as clean as we can.

Julie was a great host. The room was great with fresh towels and a book of recommendations of places in Montreal. We had a great stay.

The apartment is great. Beware that the eating places around the neighborhood close early - we are outside of the center of Montreal. Plan accordingly. But, whatever you do, do not miss Boulangerie Automne. Croissants and breads from Heaven! Conveniently located near the Metro Beaubien (ligne verte).

Positives: comfy bed, clean, classic QC architecture Negatives: location is too far removed, the door to the room is tiny/thin so noise carries (hard not to make noise when four ppl), lighting is very bad (cant see things after sunset)

Response from Julie:
Hi Nessie, regarding your comment and the way you behaved in my house, you should look for a hotel next time. This is a family house here, so people coming back late at night and talking so loud is annoying. There is no matter about the size of my door! Finally, I would say that there are 7 lightings in the room, so I think it is largely enough.
