  • Stayed here with my wife, mom, and sister. Everyone loved the Terra Cottage Inn, the surrounding property, the neighborhood, and the hosts. I'll stay here again my next time in Ashland.

  • We loved our stay at the Terra Cottage Inn! It was so easy to just walk into downtown. We also enjoyed easy access to trails, and an elementary school playground so that my 8 year old and I could go play basketball and football (we travel with our own balls!). Mark and Elizabeth we so helpful, accommodating, and friendly! We can't wait to come up again!

  • Mark and Elizabeth were communicative and friendly. The cottage was so comfortable with everything we needed. The location was perfect with an easy walk to downtown. We would definitely recommend a stay here!

  • We have been coming to Ashland for the girls' Shakespeare weekend for 5 years and this was the best of all. Terra Cottage was perfect! The rooms were perfect, the kitchen had everything that you could think of and we loved cooking in the outdoor kitchen. I am also a potter so that talking to Mark and Elizabeth about their work was an extra wonderful bonus.
We will be back next year!

  • Terra Cottage was so much better than we expected. The pictures online were very representative, accurate, but just do not convey the beauty and warmth of this inn. Mark and Elizabeth were very welcoming and had thought of just everything you could possibly want or need, right down to the chair cushions and blanket for the outdoor theater to the sewing kit with extra buttons. Spotless, quality through and through, heavy tight cotton sheets, great nubby towels, sea salt hand scrub, ceiling fans above the beds, indoor and outdoor kitchens, fully equipped. I can't think of a single item I could have wanted that wasn't there. Games in the cupboard, bathrobes and slippers, lavendar sachet in the drawers. It was quiet, beautiful, peaceful, fun and, we got to purchase a little butter keeper and a bud vase from Elizabeth's pottery shop. I can't wait to go back again. I can't see staying anywhere else in Ashland and hope there will always be a vacancy when I can go. I hesitate to even review them because you might want the same time and I am selfish!

  • Terra Cottage Inn is very attractive and in an excellent location. Bedrooms are very small but good use of closet space for unpacking. Extremely creative outdoor spaces provide private decks for dining or just hanging out. Cute!

  • All the little thoughtful touches in this place (spice rack, welcome goodies, open garden) made us feel so comfortable. My mom and I had a wonderful time and will be back!

Cottage Industry: Art, Pottery and Communication workshops
Mark and Elizabeth Schoenleber are artists (sculpture, pottery, drawing and painting) Mark has been teaching art at Ashland High School since 1983 and Elizabeth has been creating beautiful hand thrown stoneware pottery since 1988. After the favorable response from guests in our Terra Cottage Inn we decided to create a traveler's accommodation from our home of twenty years (2007). The High Street Cottage is a lovingly refurbished 1931 cottage that is tastefully decorated with just enough modern touches to make your stay comfortable and memorable. beyond the 'park and walk to everything' location... the High Street Cottage sits on a great piece of property. Koi pond, Gardens (flowers, herbs, salad and vegetables), decks and patios to relax and enjoy your stay a great laundry facility and a full outdoor kitchen. At the center of the property are our art studios and too many great amenities to list. Please Note: There is a 2 night minimum
