Our yurt is a Mother Nature lover's getaway, boasting a beautiful view, romantic queen bed, dining table and chairs, candles, skylight, picnic table, grill, firepit, 2 camp chairs, tiki torches. Full moon evenings are amazing here! You can forage for firewood (we have an ax & saw) or buy dry cut wood from us.
PLEASE PRINT & refer to our detailed directions provided on our Airbnb location page and our website ((website hidden)), as cell service is spotty and GPS has misdirected some of our guests. We have a Verizon cell booster at our house, so if you have Verizon service you are in luck to make a call from our deck or our front porch. For emergencies, you can use our house phone. Closest place for service for other cell providers is 3m from the yurt.
Unplugging is great for your health!
We have a modern bathhouse/shower a short walk away. For your convenience, very nearby, a brand new outhouse is also available. The modern bathhouse is connected to our Celebration Barn, which has power and a refrigerator. No power in the yurt. There is a battery powered lantern in the yurt and tiki torches and solar sticks to light the area outside. Headlamps are a great idea to bring with you.
We can have chilly nights here, so if you are cold natured, we have one heavy blanket and a coverlet available, so if you think you might want more, bring it.
There is a water vessel filled in the yurt for drinking, which can be refilled in our house or you can supplement with your own bottles.
IMPORTANT . . . please let us know when you plan to arrive so we will be on point to assist you up to the yurt. Our friendly dogs, Elsa and LaLa will no doubt greet you. Both are friendly, Elsa will probably have her flying squirrel ready for a new play partner and LaLa is our police officer, but she is all talk.
If arriving in the evening after 8 pm, we may not be available to assist you to the yurt. If not, we will leave instructions/flashlight/umbrellas in the bathhouse breezeway for you. Solar lights will mark your path up to the yurt. We will meet you in the morning, as we are early birds.
You can walk our property and during berry season feel free to snack.
IF NOT OCCUPIED . . . . . Casa Viva, overlooking the creek, has a very inviting porch and it is a wonderful place to hang out when it is raining to read, play cards or just listen to the rain on the tin roof. Across the road is another fire pit and you and your pets can refresh and get your feet wet in the creek.
Peek in the barn in case you are planning an event or celebration, it is a beautiful rustic party space. AGAIN . . . if not occupied you can use this space for expended fun.
If you are a musician and would like an audience, let me know and that can be arranged.
Interaction with Guests
We make our home on this property, so we are available, but respect your privacy needs. If you are interested, request our catering menu. You can pre-order, breakfast and dinner if you wish, directly with Chef Mo (text only (phone number hidden)). Please contact him as soon as you can about catering as we may not be able to honor last minute requests because of our distance from the grocery store. All catered meals are served from our house, at a mutually agreed upon time, and you have many options for places to dine on the property. Catering and a few "camp store" items can be paid by cash or (website hidden) Wallet (cc payment app for (website hidden) account users).

Already a favorite ride for cyclists and motorcycle enthusiasts, fishermen and hunters, and destined to be a favorite weekend retreat destination for rest, reflection and a reconnect. Remote, yet accessible, tucked and rooted with rich history.
Historic Hot Springs is 15 miles from the yurt, a beautiful 30m drive and worth attention with restaurants and the hot springs fed tubs. Of course, downtown Asheville with it's wonders and the famous Biltmore Estate is only 45m away.
Other Things to Note
JAL "Just About Love" Lookout Yurt is located at our event venue, Mountain Fiesta. Mountain Fiesta's own Chef Mo & Brenda Jane can prepare breakfast, lunch or dinner . . . let us know if you are interested in our menu or we can create a custom menu, or you can visit him just down the road at the Trust General Store and Cafe.
We also list our barn on Airbnb. Check it out too. Great for a family compound.
Do not disturb the tranquility of the sounds of nature.
Downed limbs in the woods can be gathered for firewood. Fire safety is a major responsibility. Jugs of water are available under the outdoor counter for emergencies.
No smoking in the yurt.
We are very pet friendly, however please be mindful of other guests and "pick up" after your pets. Either compost for them far away from the yurt in the woods or put it in the outhouse compost toilet. Please do not let your pet up on the bed on our sheets. If that is your habit, we would appreciate it if you bring your own queen sheets. Clay paw prints stain sheets! An additional $50 fee will be assessed if pet damage occurs.
The reviews don't lie - every corner of this place is magical! I can't get over how wonderful our weekend was. We spent Halloween with Brenda and Chef Mo and I cannot say enough great things about them - hospitable, friendly, warm, great for conversation. When we arrived, it looked like autumn and, in the morning, there was snow everywhere! The yurt is a perfect hideout with a great view and the outhouse is the cleanest, best-smelling and most environmentally-friendly that I have experienced. Also, be sure to order a meal with Chef Mo - delicious! Go, go, go.
We arrived slightly later than we had planned, but Mo was extremely welcoming and helpful in showing us around this incredible property! This was exactly what my boyfriend and I were looking for -- a peaceful night under the stars (which were SO beautiful!), relaxing next to a fire and then getting the most restful night's sleep. (Though I was hesitant to "waste" my limited time here sleeping!) Mo cooked us a delicious breakfast and we very much enjoyed hanging out with him, and then encouraged us to explore the rest of the property, which has so much to offer. We cannot wait to come back, and only regret having too little time to spend here.
I love Brenda, I love Mo, and I love the pleasure garden they have built on the side of a mountain.
Brenda and Mo were extremely welcoming. My boyfriend and I spent 2 nights in the yurt in late October and the property is just beautiful. It was chilly so we'd recommend bringing a down comforter or sleeping bag if you plan to stay in the yurt or tent. Chef Mo cooked two breakfasts and one dinner for us, all of which were delicious. Brenda gave great advice on what to do in the area. Great find!
Enjoyed the yurt, really enjoyed saying the word yurt. Super comfortable bed. Really enjoyed Chef Mo's dinners and breakfast
Brenda Jane and Mo were the best hosts anyone could ask for as they made us feel like family. The yurt was even better than we imagined and the facilities throughout Mountain Fiesta were fantastic. We had great fun foraging for firewood near the yurt and my partner even proposed by the campfire! All of the food was utterly incredible and everyone needs to try Chef Mo's oreos. There is so much to do (and eat) at Mountain Fiesta that you don't even really need to leave, but it's great Asheville is only a 45 min jaunt down the mountain. The seclusion at Mountain Fiesta and the resulting view are quite breathtaking and we can't wait to go back again.
Brenda was amazing and accommodating. We absolutely loved our environment and would recommend her again HANDS down.
