To help orient yourself. . . and you may be planning an event and it makes sense to book the whole place!
LET YOUR MOUNTAIN ADVENTURE BEGIN! Yurt parking is on the left just after pulling in our driveway at our mailbox next to the metal potting shed. There is room for 2 vehicles there. The yurt is located up the driveway past the barn on the left and the gothic chicken coop and the log sided goat house on the right - on a solar lit foot path up a short steep hill behind our farm house, not accessible by car. Communicating and coordinating your arrival time is important if you would like asistance to the yurt with your gear. *IMPORTANT* If arriving in the evening after dark, we may not be available to assist you to the yurt. Solar lights on the goat fence will mark your path up to the yurt. We will meet you in the morning, as we are early birds. *NOTE*-if we have had many days of rain in a row, the path to the yurt can be a slippery slope to navigate with the "Bellhop Husky" and we may have to help you up by foot. "You can't enjoy the view without the climb."
Snuggle under the stars in front of a romantic fire. Cook for yourself on a charcoal grill or arragnge catering for a stay-put no fuss stay. Off the grid in seclusion can be just what the doctor ordered....great way to reconnect. There is a battery powered lantern in the yurt and tiki torches and solar sticks to light the area outside. Headlamps/Umbrellas are a great idea to bring with you. Pets-yes!
Our yurt is a Mother Nature lover's getaway, boasting a beautiful view, romantic queen bed, dining table and chairs, candles, skylight, picnic table, grill, firepit, 2 camp chairs, tiki torches. Full moon evenings are amazing here! You can forage for firewood (we have an ax & saw) or buy dry cut wood from us.
We have a modern bathhouse/shower in front of the barn right near where you parked, and for your convenience, just outside the yurt, a brand new outhouse is also available. Just outside the bathhouse in the breezeway you have access to a microwave, refrigerator and coffeemaker (we supply the coffee).
We can have chilly nights here, so if you are cold natured, we have one warm blanket and a coverlet available, so if you think you might want more, bring it. We have bath towels for you.
We do have water vessel filled with our own spring water in the yurt for drinking and a wash tub just outside the outhouse.
We also have 2 OTHER Mountain Fiesta Glamping listings on Airbnb. Check them out too. Great for a family compound.
PLEASE PRINT & refer to our detailed directions provided on our Airbnb location page and our Mountain Fiesta website , as cell service is spotty and GPS has misdirected some of our guests. We have a Verizon cell booster at our house, so if you have Verizon service you are in luck to make a call from our deck or our front porch. For emergencies, you can use our house phone. Closest place for service for other cell providers is 3m from the barn.
Unplugging is great for your health!
GROCERY/LIBATION SHOP BEFORE YOU ARRIVE. JAL "Just About Love" Lookout Yurt is located at our event venue, Mountain Fiesta.
You can walk our meandering gardens.
If unoccupied, Casa Viva, overlooking the creek, has a very inviting porch and it is a wonderful place to hang out when it is raining to read, play cards, have a glass of wine or just listen to the rain on the tin roof. Across the road from Casa Viva is fire pit for your use ( if we do not have creekside camping guests) and you and your pets can refresh and you can get your feet wet in the creek. As well, if the barn is unoccupied enjoy a movie or ping pong or take a nap in the hammocks. At the very least give a peek in the barn in case you or someone you know are planning an event or celebration, it is a beautiful rustic party space.
If you are a musician and would like an audience, let me know and that can be arranged.
Interaction with Guests
Please let us know when you plan to arrive so we will be on point to greet you and plan the flow of our day. Our friendly dogs, Elsa and LaLa will no doubt greet you first. Both are friendly, Elsa will probably have her flying squirrel ready for a new play partner and LaLa is our police officer, but she is all talk.
We will openly communicate with you to make sure your needs are met, without interfering with your privacy.
Mountain Fiesta's own Chef Mo & Brenda Jane can prepare breakfast or dinner . . . let us know if you are interested in our menu or we can create a custom menu, or you can visit him just down the road at the Trust General Store and Cafe.
You can order on Airbnb or talk directly with Chef Mo. Please contact us as soon as you can about catering as we may not be able to honor last minute requests because of our distance from the grocery store. All catered meals are served from our house, at a mutually agreed upon time, or you have many options for places to dine on the property. A few "camp store" items such as charcoal, lighter fluid, cut firewood bundles are available.
If you need anything do not hesitate to knock on our back door. Leave us a note/text if we are out.
Linger long enough to experience “Mountain Time” in little known Spring Creek community, a slice of heaven not to be overlooked. Madison County, “The Jewel of the Blue Ridge,” shines with the Township 8’s little gems of Spring Creek, Bluff, Meadow Fork, Joe, Keenerville, Little Creek, Max Patch, Poplar Gap, Fox Run, Ball City, Betsy’s Gap, Friezeland, Trust & Luck, local areas of reference, from an era gone by, but names still honored today, each adding to the luster of the county jewel.
Farmers, some on land that has been dearly held by their family for generations, artists, craftsmen and laborers working hard for an honest day of work, rugged young families living off the land, Conservatives – Liberals, all live here with a common interest to breathe life, here in this amazing slice of Madison County. This is not just a romantic idea . . . . it’s a conscious choice, and a way of life that is cherished, relished and admired. Come get a taste. We think you will be drawn to the creek again and again.
From the top of Doggett Mountain, NW of Asheville & The Biltmore Estate and over Betsy’s Gap NE of Waynesville, to just south of Max Patch Bald and Hot Springs, Spring Creek is just over the Tennessee line, near Newport. Already a favorite ride for cyclists and motorcycle enthusiasts, fishermen and hunters, and destined to be a favorite weekend retreat destination for rest, reflection and a reconnect. Leave the city, the familiar, the routine.
Remote, yet accessible, tucked and rooted with rich history.
Historic Hot Springs is 15 miles from the yurt, a beautiful 30m drive and worth attention with restaurants and the hot springs fed tubs. Of course, downtown Asheville with it's wonders and the famous Biltmore Estate is only 45m away.
We have a small general store 2m down the road, but items are limited and they DON'T sell beer/wine/alcohol. They do sell gasoline and have a country café, which is where my sweetheart, Chef Mo works. Dave’s Burgers just opened at our Spring Creek Community Center.

We had a wonderful night in the yurt. It was the first night of our honeymoon and we couldn't have asked for anything better!
We had the most amazing time! Brenda and Moe are the sweetest host ever! They took such great care of all our needs and their barn and yurt is a truly magical place to stay!
Brenda was an amazing host for our weekend wedding adventure! The property is stunningly beautiful. Brenda had so many little details around her property to make us feel welcomed and cared for. The yurt and it's site were amazing-- including a view of the milky way outside your door, owls calling in the woods and so much more. Even if you aren't getting married here (which you should), you should treat yourself to a gorgeous, escape.
Brenda was a wonderful hostess and made us feel right at home. She was very helpful pointing out the amenities available as well as local places to hike. She was also nice enough to lend me a couple of items for my hike. WIFI was available and worked fine. There were nice hot showers, a toaster, a microwave, a coffee maker with free coffee, and a refrigerator located near our parking spot. For those interested in hiking Brenda also had a book listing the local hiking trails next to the microwave. Brenda met us when we arrived and drove us and our gear up to the the mountainside where our accomodation was located. She was also there to assist us with transportation when we left. She was a very nice hostess.
My boyfriend and I rented the fiesta yurt to get away from the city and into the mountains I love. It was a great way to catch up and spend time away from all of our electronic gadgets. Brenda was a great host and invited us to a potluck. She was really friendly and told us all about the yurt and the surrounding area. The yurt was amazing. It wasn't too hot or too cold and the composting toilet is great so you don't have to go down the hill too much. The view was incredible and I just loved spending my time there. I hope to return!
We had a great time, the yurt is amazing, very nice and clean and cozy but feels totally secluded and peaceful and off the beaten path. The view down the valley at night was so (website hidden) is an excellent chef and it was great to have the option of having delicious meals. They were both very kind and looked after us, even contacted a hiker friend for good suggestions. I really liked how if you take a hot shower in the morning, you can see rainbows in the sun.
What a perfect place to spend the night! Brenda + Mo are absolutely amazing! Spending time at Mountain Fiesta was dreamy and peaceful. The yurt was quite warm during the day but nice and cool during the night. It was probably the best nights sleep I've had in a long time. I surprised my boyfriend for his birthday and he was speechless when we first arrived and continued to be throughout our stay there. It is obvious that Brenda + Mo have spent lots of time making this place (website hidden), thank you so much for the delicious dinner! We had a lovely time and can't wait to book again!
