1. If you are coming from Limerick bus/train station or Limerick City Center follow these directions...... When you arrive in limerick you will need to ask for directions to William Street. In the middle of William Street there is a shop called "Centra" where the "Eurobus" departs at 20 minutes BEFORE each hour until the last bus at 8pm. This bus is called the Eurobus - DO NOT TAKE ANY OTHER BUS!!. Ask if you are not certain. This bus costs €1.50. My home is about 5 km from the city center. You will pass the University of Limerick. After this the next Suburb is Annacotty. Ask to be let out at O'Connell's Bar at the Newtown Centre in Annacotty. My house is a half km away. Look this up on (website hidden) maps or text me to come and get you. Or... Walk in the opposite direction the bus was travelling and take the first right (15M). Walk past O'Connells bar and take the second left (80M) - (You will see a soccer pitch). Walk for 30M and take the first left and my house is a corner house 30M on the left.
2. Coming from Dublin, I suggest you take any bus (Dublin Coach or Bus Éireann) and ask to be let out at Annacotty. (First stop in Limerick)Dublin Coach costs €10 from Dublin City center and has a website for times etc. You can buy the ticket on the bus. Look at (website hidden) maps for the 1 km walk to my house. Or..... Walk DOWN the slip road in the direction the bus was travelling on the same side of the road past the large estate entrance with the iron gates on your left. Walk over the bridge (50M), take the 2nd left (50M) at which there is a statue or sculpture. Walk 50M to a small roundabout. Walk 150M to a soccer pitch and turn right. Walk along the soccer pitches (Aisling Annacotty)50M and take the first right. Walk 30M and take the first left and my house is a corner hours No. 60 Castlemara and it is on the left after 30M. All of these distances are very much guesswork.
Other Things to Note
This is a busy household and is not for those who want quietness or who wish to party.
I had a fab time staying with Martina and her family. They were really welcoming and went out of their way to help e.g picking me up from the bus stop, showing me where to go for shops, food etc. They were good fun which made my trip even more enjoyable - much better than staying in a hotel and great value too! The room was lovely and big, and had an electric blanket which was great. I was very busy as I was in Ireland for a course, would have loved to have seen more of the place and the family - next time!!!
Martinas was very helpful at short notice. Very friendly and room was perfect
Martina and her children are very nice and welcoming. That's the first time that I come in Ireland and that I use airbnb, but I've ben very lucky to find this family who helped me and made me feel home.
I highly recommend this host.
Martina and her children are some of the kindest people I have ever met! They made me feel so welcome and comfortable. Martina even gave me a ride into the city or to the bus stop when she could and invited me to eat with her family when their schedules allowed (which isn't always - they are busy people!). I was also able to do some laundry - so nice. I highly recommend. The best part for me was getting to know the family and see how they celebrate their heritage and culture with Irish dancing, traditional music, etc. if you are looking for a homestay experience with a welcoming family, look no further - you've found it!
I can't imagine better host. She even organised me every day transport to University of Limerick.
Every day I had breakfast and sometimes even dinner.
Martina and her family are very friendly and talkative so if you would have very good possibility to improve your English.
Martina was the perfect host from even before I checked in. She responded promptly to my request (which was very last minute), picked me up from the bus stop and even drove me to several places during my stay. The room is big and clean, bed is very comfortable with a luxurious duvet. Bathroom with tub and shower, plenty of hot water for showering / a bath.
Martina cooked me a very good breakfast every morning, and the freshly made espresso set a good tone for my day.
Please note, as she says on her profile, you will be staying in a home with several children/teenagers. If you love being part of a real Irish family, this is your place. Martina's children are wonderful and I had such a good time chatting with them during my stay. This is your chance to experience life in an Irish family! Loved every minute of it and will be going back for another stay next year.
Can warmly recommend staying here.

I am the mother of 4 girls and one boy between the ages of 17 and 8. We are a traditional Irish family. The children play the piano and Irish music. We love where we live. I like to walk and do yoga. The children however perfer the local skateboard park.
