About this listing
After fifteen years of Marrakech, on which are added both desire for freshness and children’s emancipation, Pierre and Katia seriously considered moving out to the countryside. In April 2011 they moved in to KP 35, three kilometers past Tahanaout. The house left unoccupied for at least six years was surrounded by an impenetrable jungle.
Today the garden has regained its charm and they can offer travelers a welcoming and comfortable lodging. Recreating a riad not far from Marrakech was not Pierre & Katia’s objective.
The two rooms they offer revolve around hosting and sharing related to homestay. A kind of "room homestay"!
The Jasmine room is the first of birth. One accesses it from the living room through a double door screened by interior curtains. It is quite spacious (20m ²) lighted by a window that opens onto a courtyard decorated with bright bougainvillea and jasmine in pots, hence the name. It is furnished of a double bed and one single bed, two bedside tables and lamps, desk and chair, a coffee table, two ottomans & a large in wall closet. At your disposal, in the room, is a small eclectic library (novels, comic books, travel and now & then writers...). The decoration includes Moroccan carpets, a wooden framed mirror, painting of a local artist and some prints. The en-suite bathroom, with a window offers a sink, a walk-in shower (recessed tray in the soil), WC, wardrobe. For your convenience, hairdryer, fans and heating.
The second room, the Student, is smaller (15 m²). What you notice right away, entering from the living room, is the intimate atmosphere induced by the changing screen. It is furnished with a double bed with bedside tables, a cupboard, a desk and a small library. The decor, Moroccan carpets and prints, is sober. The bathroom, independent, has bathing tub, washbasin and WC.
Whether you be Student or Jasmine, you will enjoy breakfast served at your convenience, in the living room, your room or on the terrace. Composed mainly of coffee, tea, milk, fruit juice, yogurt, butter and jam, bread. On your request, Moroccan pancakes, omelet or egg in the shell

Home appliances available: DVD, TV, Wireless Internet access.

This not in disregard to our furry friends, but to avoid extra tenseness prejudicial to everyone’s comfort since four cats and two dogs are already there

Pierre and Katia will be happy to share with you their knowledge of the country and delighted to show you some nice discovery routes
I visited Pierre in October and stayed there for 3 days. It was beginning of my trip around Morocco and it was a very smart choice to stay there.
I was really lucky because I arrived to Pierre's by the beginning of Eid al-Adha - the Muslim holiday of sacrifice and Pierre arranged my participation in the holiday. I had a chance to see the actual sacrifice of a sheep and to try its meat with a local arabic family then.
Actually, it's enough to enjoy home-cooked food and amazing Moroccan nature but for those who want more there is a resort near Pierre's place also. It has plenty of activities such as horse riding, zip-line sliding through the canyon, the pool, etc. It's located on the top of the hill and the view is amazing there. All the appointments were also arranged by Pierre.
I recommend Pierre's place for those people who eager to see not snake charmers entertaining tourists at Djema el-Fna but true Morocco, the charm of small town, the beauty of Moroccan landscapes and the everyday life of common people.
- clean and cozy room

We had a good time at Pierre´s and Katia´s place!
If you want to explore the mountains or need a good place to stay before you are crossing the big atlas by car (as we did), this is a great possibility.
Pierre can explain you a lot and is always good for a nice talk!
We can highly recommend to ask Katia to cook for you, the meal we had with them was really amazing delicious!
Thanks again, and hope to see you next time!
My stay at Marrakech Rouge was excellent and my girlfriend and I enjoyed the environment there. The staff was friendly and helpful and gave us great advice. There are many areas to sleep and the other guests made our stay even better. We definitely recommend the hostel when in Marrakech
Even if it wasn't for the fantastic food, it's worth staying with Pierre and Katja just for the local knowledge! Pierre can answer any questions you can think of about the true Morocco and Katja will cook amazing dinners for 80d each a night. (The stronganoff is not like any you have ever tasted.) We stayed 2 very comfortable nights and I don't think you need longer as that is enough to see Tahannout and appreciate the quiet way of traditional life.
We stayed one night at Pierre's and Katia's place. Very nice and welcoming people. We had a nice clean room with an attached bathroom.
Katia made us the best beef stroganoff. Although you are in Morocco and you should eat Moroccan, you should really try it. You also just drive by and have a lunch, dinner there in there lovely garden.
Pierre is always in for a good talk about anything.
Thank you, Pierre and Katia! (and Aziz..)
Pierre and Katia are great Airbnb hosts. Both were friendly and helpful with all aspects of our stay. Staying with them was almost like staying with long-time family friends. Pierre managed to anticipate our every need before we realized it ourselves and Katia is an amazing cook. The meals we had with them were some of the best of our entire trip, and at a very reasonable price. Also, for a very reasonable fee Pierre can arrange transportation for you. The room is comfortable, spacious and extremely clean. We will definitely be back!
