Interaction with Guests
This is our holiday home and it is taken care of by our wonderful neighbour Eileen on our behalf. Because we spend our summer, Easter and many weekend breaks here we are thoroughly familiar with the area and are at the end of a phone or mail if you need us.
The stunning scenery. As soon as we arrive at Ballinskelligs, we head for the beach. As we take in the views, the changing colours, the sound of the waves, we breathe a deep breath and welcome the familiar feeling of contentment and relaxation that comes with Bliss Beckons.
You'll need your own car to get around and enjoy the many many sights, adventures and places to visit.
Treat the house as though it was your home - light the turf stove, read some books, listen to music or the waves. This is a pet free and smoke free home.
We need you take care of your rubbish and dispose of responsibly at the local store in the proper bin bags which are sold there.
What a wonderful, relaxing, welcoming home! Brid was not in town while we were there but did everything and more to make us comfortable and welcome. The accomidations were more than we expected, what a delightful place to have Christmas dinner.
We very much enjoyed our time in Ballinskelligs. The home is cozy and lovely, the perfect space for us (4 kids and 4 adults), and the setting is just breathtaking. Brid was a very gracious host and had arranged everything. Lots of toys and movies for the kids. Even though she was not there, her next door neighbor was always available to help sort out any small things that popped up. Would definitely come back for another stay in the future.
The house is beautiful. Very well maintained and spacious. With panoramic views of the sea and mountains. Plenty of toys and videos for the kids. Our boys are aged 2 and 4 and there was not a moment of boredom in the house. The kitchen is very well equipped and the utility room was a treat. There was a bed rail, a stair gate, a step in the bathroom and potty. Every little thing you worry about bringing or not having for kids is there. Brid was so friendly and open with ideas and advice for activities. The beach is 3 minutes walk away and is beautiful with a beach shop which stocks nets for the kids, balls, buckets and spades, coffee and WiFi, yes WiFi. The pub Cable Olearys is very modern has a large play field for the kids to run around and is 5 minutes walk away. And yes Dads it will most likely be playing "the match" for whenever that may be during your holiday. The local shop is a short drive away for your "bits". Ballinskellig is a small happy community and you feel it when you arrive and Bliss Beckons is the jewel in its crown. If you are dreaming of an idyllic family getaway you can remember for years to come Ballinskellig is the town and Bliss Beckons is the haven.
We had a very enjoyable stay in Ballinskelligs, we are still talking about it! The house is perfect for a family holiday and is right beside the beach. Lovely views from the top of the house. It's also very near other attractions, Ballinskelligs Chocolate factory for one!, and Valentia island amongst others. I would definitely recommend this house, it ticks all the boxes. Brid was also a great help, providing a lot of detail about the house and the area. She really went out of her way to help us. 5 stars!
The reservation was canceled 10 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Absolutely fantastic place. We stayed for two nights (2 adults and two children 9 and 14). Brid contacted us in advance and gave all the details of where was of interest to travel to and details of the house. The area of Ballinskelligs would be enough by itself to sell this place. However, staying in a house like this is the icing on the cake. When you travel somewhere you really want something different while still having all the creature comforts. Having the living room upstairs and the bedrooms downstairs is definitely a novelty and really works very well. The house has everything that you could need to make your stay very enjoyable. The youngest kid was kept occupied with the toys and books to read. When we originally heard the beach was three minutes away we were a bit skeptical but it really is right on the doorstep and is a magnificent beach with a lot to explore. Not many beaches can boast a castle, terns diving in to the sea, starfish and really soft sand. There are plenty of places to visit including Skellig Chocolate Factory- try the White Hot Chocolate :) ,Valentia Island Lighthouse and then on to the Tetrapods. There is a pub Cable O'Leary's in walking distance that has a great atmosphere and very family friendly with a large outdoor area with picnic style benches. Also plenty of great costal drives. As this property is also on the Wild Atlantic Way it is ideal for anyone looking to do this route.
Thanks to Brid and this property for a very memorable June Bank Holiday Weekend.
