Semi-private guest suite (1400sq ft) with separate entrance, private guest bathroom and 2 bedrooms. Our listing accommodates up to 4 adults in 2 bedrooms. Guests have the use of the sitting room with TV and Netflix, a fridge, kettle and hot tub and outdoor seating on a private patio area.
Our home is a walkout rancher style. Guests will have full access to the basement area of our home. This includes the guest bedrooms, bathroom and large sitting room / TV area / gym area (and for the most part this area is your private suite - we will occasionally come down to access the garden/gym or storage). Guest access is via a separate door direct to the basement level (accessible from a sloped walkway at the side of the house) so you can come and go as you please. The hot-tub is next to the basement door which also gives access to the garden and a private patio area for guests.
There is a kettle and fridge in the room, and we keep it supplied with tea, coffee and milk/cream. Unfortunately there are no facilities for cooking. Breakfast is not provided.
Interaction with Guests
We live mostly upstairs! But our home gym, hot tub and some storage is downstairs in the basement so we will be popping down from time to time!. (Note: Hot Tub is seasonal - usually running from October through June.)
We have an enthusiastically friendly Vizsla dog. She's 3 and will want to be your best friend. We have a gate which we keep on the stairs so she won't come down to your area (unless you want her to!). She has (obviously) been throughout the house so if you're allergic this may not be the place for you.
We are in a quiet residential neighbourhood on a newer development.
We are within a few minutes drive of several of Lake Country's 6 wineries (in fact you could walk to one of them in about 20 minutes if you don't mind a bit of an uphill hike on the return!)
We have over 20km of gorgeous marked hiking trails within walking distance from our front door on Spion Kop - an area of Crown land with trails maintained by the WALC (Walk Around Lake Country) society. There is a connector trail from the neighbourhood down to Wood Lake (approx 1km from our house) and Pelmewash Parkway (which was the old highway and is now a multi-use recreation corridor). Both Lake Okanagan and Kalamalka Lake & beaches are less than a 5 minute drive away.
There are also lots of fabulous restaurants and wineries in Lake Country - Routes Grill, Ricardos Italian, The Greek House and Gray Monk winery to name but a few.
The nearest bus-stop is within sight of the house! - just a minute away. From there you can take a bus to Lake Country & UBCO with connections on to either downtown Kelowna or Vernon.
We are a 15 minute drive from Kelowna International Airport.
We do recommend a car if staying with us to really make the most of your stay in the area.
Other Things to Note
Our main listing is for a large queen bed-room, accommodating 2 guests.
We do have a second guest room with a king bed for up to 2 additional people, sharing the same bathroom. The second bedroom is a little more sparsely decorated and has a closet and bed-side tables but no additional storage. We will only rent out this second room to members of the same group so you will only ever share the bathroom with friends!
The cost for use of the second bedroom is $50 for the room, regardless of whether there are 1 or 2 people occupying it. Please let us know when there are more than 2 people in your group and we can send a special offer price for the second room. The additional fee of $50 is per room NOT per person.
We can do laundry & dryer loads for $5 per load (inc. washing detergent)
No Smoking household. Please leave outdoor shoes at the door - no shoes indoors please!
