A double bed in an Historic Victorian house with private bath/shower, great views. Limited parking, but ok on Sat/Sun, evenings. Good transportation to downtown. Stunning views over the bay and downtown area.
The house was built in 1893 and is a corner property filled with sunshine. We are just outside of the fog belt in a fairly quiet residential street.

Interaction with Guests
As much or as little as you require. I will be available in the morning for questions, as I also live in the house.
I love Courtney's, which is a corner store providing fresh sandwiches, fruits, flowers, vegetables, cheese
You can walk down to the N Judah tram about 3 blocks and it will take you to downtown, or to the Golden Gate Park and the ocean. You can take the 37 bus up 14th St to Buena Vista Terrace. If you walk from the N Judah walk up 14th St, not Duboce (too hilly). The 24 bus goes to the Castro, Mission, and back to Pacific Heights.

The WiFi service is HOMEA017 and the password is BUENAVISTA.
There is no smoking allowed anywhere on the premises. And I can't take pets. For those staying upstairs, I would appreciate the use of soft soled shoes.
Kate and her beautiful house beat our expectations in our first airBB experience. We chose to explore the area by foot and visited Haight Ashbury, San Francisco state university, and Japan town. Her house if centrally located and in a very nice neighborhood. The view from our kitchen table was incredible adding the perfect ambiance for our take out dinner and breakfast. Kate was a fantastic host and a wonderful spirit. I wish we would have stayed longer and we will defiantly return for another stay.
What a great place! It's a ton more space than I expected with a living room, kitchen & balcony for use. In walking distance to Mission, Castro, etc. which offer a lot of activity, and yet the apartment is in a peaceful quaint neighborhood - so you get the best of both worlds. Kate is so accomodating and helpful, and very sweet! Definitely stay here!
Kate was a very accommodating host! The apartment was beautiful and Kate had good tips on how to enjoy San Francisco.
I had a great stay at Kate's apartment. The location is perfect and central and the view from the balcony is unbeatable. You can have your coffee and homemade scones while watching the sun rise and the fog roll in. The apartment itself is very minimal, not much in furnishing, but it's all I needed - cozy bed and a hot shower. Kate lives on the first floor, is there when you need her with great suggestions, but won't interfere if you don't.
We really enjoyed staying at Kate's place, what a great oppertunity to stay in a classic San Francisco brownstone! The flat is in a beautiful part of the city just off the Castro district and had an amazing view! Croissants and juice while watching the sunrise over San Francisco was a very special treat. Bed was great, bathroom was small but shower was good. The flat was very sparsley furnished with one lounge chair in the livingroom but it didn't bother us. We didn't have too much interaction with Kate, we were on a very busy schedule and were out most of the time but she was very sweet and very accomodating. The croissants every morning were fantastic! We weren't completely sure how much of the place we had since the listing says private room but it seemed to be the whole thing, I'm sure this would have been cleared up if we had more of a chance to check in properly (entirely our fault we were sadly so rushed). Would definitely recommend this listing to friends and we're a bit sad we weren't able to stay longer.
My stay at Kate's place was wonderful. This was my first time using airbnb and it exceeded my expectations. She was very warm, friendly, and helpful but also very respectful of my privacy. When I arrived she told me about the transportation system and left some maps and restaurant recommendations. The apartment is very spacious and charming, much nicer and bigger than I expected from the ad. The room and bathroom look just like the pictures and I had access to a full kitchen which was very helpful since I was there for more than a week. I was able to go grocery shopping and make a few light meals. The views of SF from the kitchen are amazing. There is a large living room and the apartment is very sunny. I was searching for jobs while I was there so it was nice to be able to use the living room to make calls or do other work. She even provided light breakfast items every day including coffee and juice. I would highly recommend Kate's place and would love to stay there again on my next trip to SF.
Lovely apartment with a truly amazing view of the city. I also loved the location since it was in a quiet area while being close to public transportation. Kate was very accommodating with my check-in, check-out. Apartment is very basically furnished but was fine for me. Kate also left me some basic breakfast items which I greatly appreciated.
