About this listing
Steps away from Yale, our studio is designed with oak furniture and has strong air conditioning for the summer months. It is centrally located at the corner of Trumbull and Whitney and has a large private back yard with a garden.
The space is located very close to the heart of campus -- essentially on campus -- and right next door to the best restaurant in town, Caseus Fromagerie. I've also worked hard to furnish the apartment with nice wood furniture, desk and book cases.
Guests have private access to the whole apartment which includes a private back yard with overhanging pine trees and dogwoods. There is a full bed as well as a full inflatable airbed should you need space for more than two people. There is $1 washer and $1 dryer in the building. The apartment has a small kitchen, a typewriter, oak table and writing desk, and books which you are welcome to read. The bathroom is white tile and looks out onto the back yard. The apartment has Wifi internet, heating, and air conditioning.
Interaction with Guests
I am usually away when the studio is rented, however guests have my best friend who lives in New Haven to call for whatever questions or issues they would like addressed.
The apartment is in the most lovely and safe part of New Haven the -- campus/downtown area of East Rock.
There are Yale and New Haven City bus stops just around the corner. But because this studio is very much centrally located chances are that you will probably be able to walk everywhere you want to go.
Please try to leave the studio clean.
The apartment was perfect for my stay in New Haven. Convenient to restaurants, store and Yale. It was clean and quiet and the kitchen well equipped.
Allen was very responsive and a great host.
Very friendly and easy to communicate with. Small but nice apartment which is very centrally located.
Although I never met Allan (the host), he was very easy to communicate with and responded to my questions kindly and promptly.
My boyfriend and I were visiting some friends at Yale and the location is very convenient. His apartment is an easy walk to the University. Allen's place is on a beautiful street lined with handsome houses and dignified sycamore trees.
The apartment itself is also lovely. In my opinion it is more beautiful than the pictures on AirBnB indicate. We found it comfortable, beautifully furnished, very clean, and supplied with plenty of freshly laundered linens. Also, if you're an avid reader like I am, take note that he has a wonderful collection of (in my opinion) important books.
The only thing possibly inconvenient is that there is no separate bedroom - the apartment has an open floor plan so it is only one room (besides the bathroom). This was not an issue for my boyfriend and me, but potential guests should keep that in mind.
All in all, I would recommend Allan's apartment highly in all aspects and hope to stay there again next time I'm in the area.
The host canceled this reservation 19 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
This is a not-too-expensive place in New Haven with a fun grad student vibe. It's not lavish, to be sure, but it looks the part (great books and bookshelves, eg.) and everything works. It's also extremely well located -- right next to Yale, and right down the street from Caeseus, the best non-pizza restaurant in New Haven.
Malgré le fait que nous n'avons pas rencontré Allen, à notre arrivée, l'appartement était prêt à nous accueillir : linge propre, bouquet de fleurs...
Le quartier est très agréable. Tout proche de l'université de Yale et des boutiques.
