  • My husband and I spent 4 nights at this cabin, and we loved everything about this place. Kevin and Becky are the friendliest, most gracious hosts. The cabin is cute, clean and cozy, and had everything we needed. The grounds are beautiful! We really enjoyed just sitting by the pond, watching the birds and relaxing. We would recommend this place to any couple looking for relaxation, away from it all.

  • Everything about Kevin’s cabin and the land surrounding it — near the Lamoille River, the two ponds, and the three beaver ponds, the marked trails through the 130 acres behind the property—exceeded our expectations. And to top it off, Kevin is a fantastic tour guide. His company, Mountain View Tours, has just acquired a super equipped, comfy van with Satellite radio. Kevin knows all the places to go and the quirky history of each one—fascinating.

The cozy cabin is superbly equipped. We were a bit leery about the low ceiling in the bedroom loft, but even though we are one of us six feet, the other six feet and over, it suited us just fine. The steep stairs up to the bedroom are easily navigated with just a bit more care than normal.

We had a wonderful, relaxing summer stay and are trying to fit a fall visit into our schedule. Thanks so much Kevin!!!

  • It was a pleasure for my wife and I to escape from the hustles and bustles of city life to this quiet and cozy place in Vermont! Waking up to the beautiful melody of birds singing, taking a walk through the woods, breathing fresh air that's not contaminated with heavy fumes were some of the benefits of staying at Kevin's cabin. The cabin itself is beautiful, equipped with enough fixtures to make your stay comfortable. Kevin and Becky are wonderful hosts; we enjoyed the time we interacted with them as they shared with us their experiences with ducks and geese on the property. We sure look forward to visiting again!

  • I surprised my boyfriend with a stay at the cabin for this birthday. It is located in off a quiet dirt road in Johnson, VT near the "center" of downtown. We loved the cabin as soon as we opened the door! It is small, quaint, clean and very cozy. Kevin left some lights on, and the fireplace was "blazing" :) The kitchen is tiny, and has everything you would need to cook a great meal. The living room has a very comfy futon, a huge TV and the windows give you a great view of the property. The loft is up a steep little set of stairs and is all open and airy. I can't express how magical this little cabin is! It's pretty small, so i think it's perfect for two people. The grounds that the cabin is on, and next to is equally magical. We snowshoed for an entire day, up and down a mountain right out back and saw nothing but animal prints and a few deer. Beautiful! We hope to head back to the cabin in the summer, and experience it then. Kevin was a wonderful host, came over to see if we had any questions and introduce himself.

  • We received a warm and inviting welcome when we arrived - the fire was going in the gas fireplace and soothing Sirius jazz music was playing on the big screen TV. It's obvious that much care was put in to the design and furnishing of this cozy little get away. We had everything we needed and felt totally relaxed from our brief respite. The surroundings are beautiful and we were grateful that Kevin and his wife are willing to share their little piece of nature with others. We will definitely return - not only next winter but hopefully in the summer or fall too.

  • What a perfect place for us to get away and recharge our batteries! Kevin stopped in to greet us upon our arrival and made himself available throughout our stay. The cabin itself is very nice and the Lendways thought of everything in all the small details. From the timed heater in the bathroom to the candles and toiletries to the kitchen utensils...everything was there! We had a great time exploring the trails by snowshoes and watching the abundance of turkeys on the property. Thanks for a great stay!

Owner and Operator of Mountain View Tours for the past 12 years in Stowe, Vermont ((website hidden)) Also Worked as a Radio Announcer and Disc Jockey in the Vermont market for many years.
About
You may not know this person or even seen his pt cruisers and touring vans on the back roads of Vermont, but thousands of people traveling to Vermont are glad they did. You see, Kevin Lendway with his signature Donegal cap is the owner and operator of Mountain View Tours, ((website hidden) ) a Tour company based in Stowe, Vermont has been dubbed: “Mr. Vermont”, by many of his customers. People come to Vermont from all over to get away from it all and unwind at a luxury resort far away. Searching the web, calling the chambers, often results in a simple call to a fourth generation Vermonter and tour guide for the past 15 years. "I really enjoy my work", says: Kevin, "‘What a thrill to meet people of all ages, from all over the world and from all walks of life such as: farmers, mechanics, truckers, school teachers to doctors, writers, artists and politicians,'” As far away as Cape Town, South Africa to addressing an audience of tour operators from Khuzestan Russia at a Vermont college., Kevin is more than up to the challenge. A husband of 37 years to Becky Lendway, although not having any children, he is a big kid at heart. Kevin was raised the youngest of 5 boys and 2 sisters, we never had a dull moment. Cable TV didn’t exist growing up, we grew up in the city of Burlington but had chores, chickens, a steer and a garden that would feed half the city. That was a lot of work. I learned from experience, that if one had goals in life then we would strive and work hard to reach them. I always liked radio as a boy. What a surprise that one day working at a college station in the city of Burlington did I learn I was the first radio announcer to talk on Vermont’s first stereo rock station, I was only 16 at the time. More recently, Kevin had rented a house to 4 students attending Johnson State College. A few years went by only to learn that the students had formed a band and named their group after their landlord. The band is called: "Lendway"; some of their music CD's can be purchased or downloaded on ITUNES. By the way, there was even a "Lendway Pizza"; for awhile named after the band which of course is name after Kevin, the inspiration behind the (website hidden) a restaurant, in Vermont's largest city Burlington. Vacations were the highlight of our summers. I realized that vacations mean a lot to people no matter who they are or where they come from. That was the ticket, I thought, to give people something memorable-an exciting Vermont vacation they will never forget. Though my Dad thought I cracked up, we worked hard on this endeavor, we dug and we researched town after town, village and village for something that was highly educational, informative as well as entertaining with fascinating Vermont history, folklore, legends and tales whether it be maple sugaring and covered bridges to the buried mummy in a Middlebury graveyard and the lost diamond ring in a small Vermont town owned by Buffalo Bill while hunting.. Or how they got the name Camel’s hump (Vermont’s 4th highest mountain) from Camel’s rump? Kevin has something for everyone. Why Kevin’s Father, a long-time Vermonter passes on many of the intriguing stories such as the name “dunder rock” that resembles a ship on Lake Champlain. What a great story that makes on a Burlington city tour!. Unlike most Vermonters who prefer to stick close to home like Kevin’s father who barely left his living room chair, Kevin, strikes a common cord with most travelers. That is because he himself is also a tourists and a world-wide traveler who loves to take local tours. For “Mr. Vermont”, of Mountain View Tours working for the number one industry, tourism, has definately paid off. Ideally, tourism is a win-win arrangement. The consumer escapes his normal routine and is pampered, entertained, or educated. What better place to offer that than to visit scenic and historic Vermont? There is more to vacations than fine dining and plush resorts. Tour Operators are thus challenged to make an actual visit an outstanding experience while resorts provide the comforts of home. That’s where Mr. Vermont “ of Mountain View Tours enters the picture, “Of all the factors which determine real pleasure and enjoyment while traveling, there is no other factor more important than the way guests are treated by the local people and the feeling of security which they experience.” But it is very challenging to be outgoing, pleasant, and smiling on the job all the time. That is why “Mr. Vermont” instills the need to approach whatever the role we play with the same professionalism that would characterize a doctor, an attorney, or an insurance agent. We use uncompromising standards for every function that makes up the overall tourist experience. The harder we work as a Vermont tour guide in achieving these standards, the more seamless and consistently higher the level of performance will be.” So, the next time you decide to get away from it all and unwind.. Remember that Vermont has plenty to choose from. But if you want to have the complete Vermont experience, check out the cabin at 415 Lendway Lane in Johnson, Vermont. it may just be what the doctor has ordered…. -end-
