A characterful, light-flooded 850sqft maisonette apartment only minutes' walk from the centre of London's West End and right next to 3 tube stations with 5 lines between them (and dozens of buses). 2 double bedrooms, 1 bathroom with tub and shower attachment [Note: NOT a proper power shower - but works in its own way for people of average size and height - otherwise baths recommended!], spacious living room, eat-in fully-equipped kitchen that opens out onto a large planted terrace. All bills included, with hi-speed wi-fi and cable tv, but no phone. Near to Euston and Fitzrovia, as well as Regents Park, this is the perfect base for exploring both central and north London. On top floor of converted 18th century house, this home is packed with beautiful antiques and books, and is surprisingly quiet despite its location. No good for people with bad knees however. Owners (British, Australian and American - and fluent in several European languages) are usually near at hand if you need anything. Note for fans of the new Sherlock Holmes series: it is filmed directly across the street!

We had a great stay in London for around a week, the apartment was very nicely decorated and full of books (love that), the bedrooms were perfectly fine for 2 adults and 2 kids, the kitchen was working fine and the balcony was lovely. We were not far from the centre, the next planet organic shop, the tube etc... Ophelia was very helpful when needed and we would love to stay there again.
The apartment was in a great location, very close to several tube stations making it wery easy to see London. It had everything we needed to stay for nearly 2 weeks. Very comfortable, clean, well equiped and safe. The owner was very helpfull and accomodating. We really enjoyed our stay, I would absolutley recommend to others and would definitely stay again!
We had a very nice experience at Ophelia's place, the house was so nice and clean that we couldn't believe it! Everything went fine, very central, just 1 minute walk fron the tube station, very quiet... I would strongly recommend it. We will probably get in contact to you Ophelia to stay again during the summer. Thanks!!
great location. home well decorated and clean. hosts very kind and helpful. We would gladly stay! Thank Ophelia!
This was everything we expected, thank you to Paul and Ophelia. They say it is all about Location, Location, Location and this unit was perfect, right next door to Euston Square. We were met by Paul and given a rundown on 'what to do and what to expect. The rest of the time was ours to enjoy. We were a family of 4 who juggled sleeping arrangements between 2 double beds and an odd night on the floor. Great layout (up a few flights of steps - which we were prepared for), great kitchen, 2 bedrooms, good lounge and balcony.
We hit the streets, the shopping, many musicals, and lots of restaurants, with a marvelous eatery across the road. We will be back to this gem.
Had a great experience. The apartment was clean and nicely decorated. We were received by Paul's warm welcoming. Also enjoyed the location.
The stay at Ophelia's Apartment was great. The pictures show exactly what you get. The location can't be much better and I'd be happy to come back any time.
Beautiful well appointed and well located 2 level terraced flat (kitchen/deck and sitting room on one level; bedrooms and bathroom on upper). Kind and helpful owner. Comfy beds, bright and spacious kitchen with lovely deck. All crockery/cutlery/linens etc provided. Digital radio in kitchen and cable TV in sitting room.
Neighborhood - Convenience store across the street and larger one around corner on Drummond. Sainsbury & Tesco on Tottenham Court Rd as well as one in ground floor of Euston Tower (corner of Euston Rd & Hampstead Rd). Indian & other Asian restaurants on Drummond. Crown & Anchor pub on same block.
Transportation - Euston Square tube is on same block; Warren Street about 1-2 blocks away. Euston/St Pancras/Kings Cross train stations all within walking distance.
Bonus - The BBC's Sherlock uses the flat across the street as 221 B Baker Street. Speedy's sandwich shop open for breakfast & lunch, Monday - Saturday I believe.
Suggestions for nearby excursions on pretty summer days: Regent Park and London Zoo. Walk along Regent Canal to Camden Lock markets. Take Northern Line to Hampstead/Hampstead Heath/Highgate (Public lawn bowling green on Hampstead Heath on Highgate side). Dinner at Sardos (45 Grafton Way Fitzrovia), gelato at Polka Gelato (45 Fitzroy St Fitzrovia) - take and eat on one of the benches at Fitzroy Square.
Pros - everything! Loved this flat and location and would come back.
Cons - very minor and beyond the owners control. 2 nights the neighbor's smoking was a bit much and had to retreat to bedrooms to try to escape the smoke smell - otherwise never noticed and I am particularly sensitive to the smell so I would have noticed. Hospital across Euston Road means constant stream of ambulances so if you are a light sleeper might be an issue but this is London and there will always be some kind of noise. Didn't bother me - just became "background noise" to me.
We stayed for over a week on a recent business trip. We were very busy and found the location to be perfect for everything we needed. Walking distance to a few different tube stations, supermarkets etc.. The flat itself is immaculate, super comfy beds, great kitchen and Ophelia is an absolute delight to deal with. Highly recommended!
This was our second time staying at Ophelia's flat, which supports how special we think her place is. It's big, toasty warm in the winter, the kitchen is marvelous, and bedrooms are super comfortable. The flat is perfectly situated. I can't begin to express how grateful we were to Ophelia, we coudn't have asked for a nicer hostess or a better place to stay. Just wonderful!
Thank you very much indeed.
