A bright room with balcony and double bed. The Boutensgaarde lies between forest and the river IJssel, a great starting point for hiking and cycling trips. Not far from the historic city center, ideal for visiting events like "Deventer op stelten"!
The balcony room is quietly located on the north side of the house. In nice weather, put the balcony door open and enjoy the fresh air. Of course you can sit on the porch swing in our garden or cross the road to walk to the woods nearby Diepenveen or to the river IJssel.
You can use of course our bathroom and toilet on the first floor.
Interaction with Guests
We can put breakfast ready at an agreed time or bring it to your room. But you can also join us between 7:30 and 8:00 hours. When it happens, we drink coffee or a glass of wine in good company, and we'd love to hear your (travel) stories.
We love to the follow the LAW 3, which runs past our house, into the woods to walk immediately. Or just to watch the river IJssel flows past at 1000 m from our house.
Opposite the Boutensgaarde is a bus stop. From here every 10-15 minutes, a bus takes you quickly to the city center / railway station.
Other Things to Note
We have a large vegetable garden and Frank is active beekeeper. We love to share fresh vegetables and homemade honey with our guests!
If you wish to bring pets, we need to think about the possibilities. Our own (young) dog is only allowed to enter part of the house and sleeps in the pantry. Smoking inside our home is not possible, but we have a spacious garden.
Everything went perfectly fine.
The room and bathroom are great, nice house, very nice host - I even got my bicycle tyres inflated ;) and wonderful breakfast!
Frank and Jessica are a lovely and welcoming couple. They are really interested in their guests and are always in for a little chat. The room they rent out is clean, light and it has a huge balcony. If you do not want to use the balcony, you can sit in their lovely garden. We also had dinner with them and were surpised by all the homemade dishes. Homemade apply wine, plumjuice, icecream are just a few things we enjoyed.
The house is located a little outside the city centre. It is about half an hour walking towards the Brink but you can also take the bus, which leaves very close by. You are also very close to the river and the forest, so very good for walking and cycling.
I would certainly recommend. this place and I hope I will be able to come back in the near future!
