All the best
I stayed at Kimberlys place for 10 days. Kimberly was a great, welcoming and friendly host. If you have any questions she will love to help you and she is a very interesting lady to chit chat with. The other two guests in the apartment were quiet and I almost didn't see them while i stayed. The apartment is perfectly situated for getting around with both the subway and train. Harlem is full of stores, delis, restaurants and seightseeing spots like the Apollo theatre and the Abyssinian Bapist Church. Since this was my first time in New York, i must say i was surprised by the noise coming in from the street (the apartment is in a historically old building and closing the windows doesn't block out too much of the noises - and the city NEVER sleeps). A very simple & oldfashioned interior which is cute, but it could have been a bit cleaner, especially in the kitchen and bathroom. But that didn't bother me too much, since i mainly was out and about my whole trip.
My experience was great with Kim. She is cool and her home is welcoming and artsy. I feel like I got the full NY Harlem experience. Kim is always smiling and ready to help. The other roommates in the apt were quiet, so didn't get much disturbance.
Echoing everyone else's comments: location is ideal. It's right night to the subway. I felt relatively safe walking around and traveling at night. But man, literally the subway entrance is right in front of her apartment. Also there's some cool cafes walking distance. Community is live out there.
The apartment is cool as well. It's an old building that looks like and feels like NY. The floors were in process of getting cleaner, but no big deal. I bought house slippers which were like a dollar. The bed was comfy! Twin size. The room was real cute and had furniture.
Also she has a cat. I'm usually hyper allergic...but all I got was a stuffy nose! :)
My stay at Kim's was nice, I had my own bedroom what was really nice and had to share the kitchen and bathroom. The neighborhood is also nice and it's perfect that the subway entrance is literally in front of the building, grocery store is around the corner and so is also the Starbucks!
I had a great stay for a few nights in Kimberley's apartment, it's really conveniently located and Kimberley is a great host.
Kimberly's apartment is wonderful. The bathroom and the Kitchen are bright and spacious, The room was very comfortable, especially the bed, I stayed for 6 nights and it was perfect. The metro station is downstairs as are grocery stores, pizza shops and a fruit stand.
I had no trouble getting around all of Manhattan from Kimberly's apartment and its really easy to get to and from the airport on the A line.
Would recommend Kimberly's place and Harlem to anyone traveling to New York.
This was my first experience with Airbnb and overall I am satisfied with that. I would recommend Kim’s apartment.
Kim replied to my messages super quickly and was very nice. Kim and the other guest – who was staying in the room next to mine – were very considerate and did not disturb at all. The apartment is located in an historical building on a very busy intersection so you might hear some noise from the streets. The location is really convenient for the subway: the express A train will take you to Columbus Circle in 10 minutes!
