Tucked away a leafy corner of the North York Moors National Park, our hand crafted shepherds hut at Gumboots & Wellingtons is comfy & cosy, with beautiful views across the garden & farmland.
It has en-suite shower room, central heating, a small kitchen & cute log burner.
You can stroll into Thornton le Dale or enjoy the Dalby Forest walking/cycle trails from the doorstep, venture to the coast or explore local market towns.. Malton 'food capital of Yorkshire', Pickering or Helmsley.
The space
The Hut itself is a real gem, well proportioned and surprisingly spacious. Accessed via steps, The Hut is open plan with a full sized double bed, a small but well stocked kitchen space, dining table and wood burning stove all in one space.
The shower room is accessed via a door next to the kitchen.
There are lots of well thought out details which make it extra special. Books, playing cards and a set of binoculars are provided to help you enjoy your stay.
Outside you’ll find a fire pit | barbecue (extra wood can be purchased from your hosts).
Located in a Dark Sky Reserve, the star gazing here is spectacular.

Guests are welcome to enjoy the garden space around The Hut.
Other things to note
We include breakfast supplies to get you started.... usually home made granola, yoghurts, locally pressed apple juice etc. Tea, locally roasted coffee, a small bottle of milk & sugar are also provided. Please let us know any dietary requirements or requests.
We ask guests bring their own toiletries and bath towels (you’ll be helping us meet our sustainability aims by bringing your own - reducing our water consumption and use of single use plastic). We provide a hand & tea towels.
WiFi is available near the cottage, it may be sporadic in The Hut due to the distance from the hub.
Mobile phone reception can be limited, depending on your network provider. We see this as a bonus, it gives our guests the chance to properly switch off and unwind.
