About this listing
Hi, I rent my little house in my little town, Peschici (Apulia). I offer this accommodation for short period during all year.
The accommodation is perfect for two persons, it is composed by one bedroom with a bathroom but the very surprise is the location, in front of Adriatic sea, into the mediterranean vegetation that we call "macchia mediterranea", a fantastic location above the cliff. The apartement is in my private property, near my house. The location is suitable to reach the center of town in 10 minutes walk . The closest beach is S.Nicola bay. There isn't a kitchen but I provide an espresso electric machine and a little fridge. You could taste the typical food in more restaurants of town and I can offer you a special price in the resturant of my family, it is not so far from the accommodation and with 15 euro you can taste all specialities of Southern (email hidden) in front of the sea is the best place to discover that "the life is a wonderful thing". Try to come back.
We had a lovely time. The view is amazing! Absolutely stunning. It's a bit of a walk to the center of town, but easily done in 10 minutes. Carmela was lovely, and the room was just as pictured.
We loved this room on the edge of the cliff! The sunsets were fabulous, and we enjoyed eating our breakfast on the patio overlooking the sea with the two friendly cats. Although it is attached to Carmela's home, it is very private and feels like its own little house. Carmela is very sweet and even picked us up from town one evening when we were caught there in the rain without any umbrella or raincoat!
There are only minor things that could be improved, such as providing more comfortable lawn chairs for the patio so that one could enjoy laying out in the sun, and perhaps providing some coffee and milk (there is a fridge, hot plate, and a moka to make espresso) because there are no cafes right nearby. You'll want to bring some food for breakfast. One thing to note is that it is a 15-20 minute walk to the center up a steep hill through a quiet residential neighborhood, and at night it is very quiet. I'm sure it's very safe, but you may want to drive in and out of town.
We enjoyed eating lunch at Trabucco da Mimi on the San Nicola beach, and we also loved the Cala Turchi, which is a beach that you reach by hiking over the cliff from the Baia Calalunga (we had it all to ourselves!). Eat gelato at Pina Gel in town, and go to the cute Enoteca next door. We also liked the simple and cheap pizzas at Pizzeria la Piazzetta and Pizzeria Padre Pio. Some of the other restaurants in town were overpriced and not that great. We didn't make it to Carmela's sister's agriturismo (Pane e Vino), so we will have to try that next time!
Carmela nous a accueilli avec beaucoup de gentillesse, et de gaieté qui a compensé le barrage de la langue. Sa maison est située dans un endroit extraordinaire tel qu'il est décrit sur le site.
Carmelas place definitely is worth a visit. The view and location are spectacular. (Having a car to get there and around Peschici seems necessary though). Although we had some "linguistical-challenges" due to our nonexistent Italian, we managed very well to communicate and also got to know Carmelas huge helpfulness: when we arrived we had - or at least so we thought - some trouble with our car. Without hesitating Carmela offered to call a mechanic she knows very well who would stop by later in the evening to have a look. That was incredibly nice of her. The room itself is absolutely fine and when we wanted to prepare e.g. a salad we could always ask Carmela for a bowl or other things we needed. I loved having the cats around, which were always alongside of us when we were outside the room on the terrace. So you shouldn't feel disturbed by the presence of cats there (although both of them are the loveliest ones ever!) mille grazie Carmela!!!!
Carmela was a lovely hostess. She lives in the flat attached to the bedroom and en suite bathroom we stayed in right at the edge of the sea. Her cartoon picture of the site is a real understatement. It is a stunning location and you can hear the waves crashing into the rocks below all the time. She also has two lovely ginger cats, one of which I wanted to put in my suitcase and bring home as it was so affectionate. A really lovely airbnb with its own lengthy drive and pretty little garden.
Una casetta a a picco sul mare con un paesaggio stupendo! Siamo stati un giorno a maggio e ci siamo trovati molto bene! Carmela e Antonella sono state molto disponibili e garbate. Camera e bagno pulitissimi! Consigliatissimo!
Carmela was very welcoming and helpful. She proposed several times to give me a lift by car to the city centre.
Her house has a wonderful seaside view !!
