Interaction with Guests
Welcome and introduction by me, or my family .
I cook the breakfast , clean the rooms and do the shopping, so I am round about the house and farm or off shopping etc. each day
Having guests stay with us for the last 30 + years I interact with guests in a sensitive and unobtrusive way.
I was born and raised in this village as a farmers daughter, with my childhood spent exploring everywhere on my bike or on my white Connemara mare. This special and hidden area of Cumbria is truly rural with lanes and footpaths that lead you off in all directions , quiet and largely undiscovered. Yet only 10 minutes from the M6 or A66
Crake Trees Manor is easy to reach from the M6 motorway or the A66 trunk road. 30 minutes by car from Penrith mainline station. Bikes can be hired and booked with train tickets at (website hidden)
I can also pick guests up from Penrith or Appleby station.
It is very easy to come and stay at Crake Trees Manor without a car from a few days.
Guests are required to let me know by email, phone or text there expected arrival time. Also to update me if they are running late or early.
No eating in bedrooms , if guests buy a takeaway I will provide plates etc and it can be eaten in the dining hall.
No dogs allowed in the house as we have our own jack russells.
Stay here and you could give this host their first review!
I am a mix of traditional , farmers wife, and non traditional host to the many guests who stay with us.
Whether B & B in the very modern conversion of field barn to farmhouse, or cosying up in one of our romantic Shepherds Huts, I work hard at creating and maintaining the perfect relaxing bolt hole, deep in the beautiful Cumbrian countryside
We live and work at crake trees, my family is round about, extended but not intrusive, no time for our own holidays, but I learn about other folk's adventures all the time. I explore and experience of own wonderful area, and I have the intimate knowledge of a lifetime to help my visitors explore their particular interests.
Food is major, its local provenance and how its served, style of my surroundings is my great interest and a passion for exploring churches, remote abandoned farmsteads, roads to new places, outdoor swimming, all by bike ....so I suppose that's what I do if I have any spare time.
