Our eclectic 1940's Old Austin house typifies the character that made Austin the Live Music Capital: inexpensive and relaxed. Located in a walkable, livable neighbourhood close to UT and downtown.
My daughter, and my partner and I share this space; she attends UT engineering, he's in the music industry, and I'm a therapist. I have enjoyed Airbnb so much, both as a host in Ireland and a guest in various countries, that I make my room available when my partner and I travel-- it's our small contribution to affordable accommodation, which is getting harder to find here in Austin!
Sitting room, kitchen, and private bathroom.
We have a vegetable garden out front. Feel free to harvest food!
Interaction with Guests
The front section of the house is virtually yours, as my daughter lives in the back addition.
Hyde Park is a livable neighborhood. There are restaurants, markets, coffee shops, bars, and more within strolling distance.
We are located just a few blocks away from major bus lines and are within the car-2-go home radius. There is ample street parking.
Other Things to Note
The house is old and has not been significantly modernised. There is no central a/c or heat. What the house (both exterior and interior) lacks in updates, it makes up for in character.
Traci has been a pleasure to work with, she is very prompt to respond and makes sure that her guests are taken care of. We were greeted by Traci's daughter who showed us our living space and some guidelines around the house. If you're looking for an experience resting in an Austin-vibe home (as the title suggests), I highly recommend her place!

I'm a Massage Therapist and Birth Doula back at University studying Psychology. I am passionate about the arts and love being outdoors; hiking, camping, gardening. One of my biggest joys is exploring megaliths, especially remote and forgotten circles and tombs - well that and Thrift shopping. I love charity shops and rummage sales! :) My motto is, "just say YES!"
