The Space

Walking distance to restaurants, 2 miles to beach. Bikes, boogie boards and double kayak for use during stay. Within 5 miles to numerous wineries and many tourist attractions. I can help you plan your way around the area while here. Wireless internet and free parking at home. Coffee and pastries in the morning. Well travelled hosts.

This area has many things to do and see and our home is centrally located to Los Angeles and San Fancisco as you travel the hwy in either direction. One of the only beaches in the United States you can drive your car on is located within 5 minutes. Our home is located just on the out skirts of town making it the best of both the country quiet and the ease of walking to town.

Email me and I can advise on local festivals and weekend events you might want to check out when your here..Also if you let me know which direction you are coming from, either San Francisco or Los Angeles I can make recommendations on things to look at on your way here that most tourists miss.

None smoking home and 2 small dogs at home but they do not shed if allergies are an issue.

Our home is quiet and the room allows for rest as well as its location is perfect and centrally located.

Things to do nearby include the beach, kayaking, surfing, boogie boarding etc, Numerous hikes in the area that are magnificent. Wineries all over nearby!! Farmers markets, lakes for boating, skiing and fishing. Don't miss the elephant seals if your coming from hwy 1 and the Big Sur area!!

Guest Access

We have beach equipment, boogie boards, towels, bikes, and a double kayak.
Backyard has a BBQ, patio, firepit and lounging area.

Interaction with Guests

We are home quite a bit but respectful of the privacy of our guests.

The Neighborhood

Our home is on the outskirts of town but close enough to walk to. We get the wildlife and country feeling without the extended driving of living out of town.

  • Only stayed with Michelle for one night but was exactly what we needed. Additionally, she made us the recommendation for checking out the SLO Thursday Evening Farmer's Market, which was great and would have never known about otherwise.

  • We had a family wedding and needed a place to stay for just one night. We were very happy with the location, the cleanliness, and the owners. They were very accommodating and helpful. Their bed was very comfortable too!

  • We had a great time with the Cotas. The room was clean, peaceful, and comfortable and had all the amenities we could have wanted. They were very friendly and welcoming, and were more than happy to give us advice about hikes and other activities in the area. We would've loved to stay a couple more days, and will definitely stay again if we're back in the area.

  • Michelle and family were very accommodating and the room was ideal, positioned at the front of the house and with an ensuite.

The neighbourhood and house were lovely and Michelle recommended us a great restaurant just round the corner. This is an ideal stopover for anyone travelling along the coast.

  • Michelle was able to accommodate my last-minute request (2 days out) for a 2-night stay. The room was comfortable and she even shared some wine, which was a nice, unexpected bonus. The location couldn't be better, providing a quiet neighborhood fell not far from the highway & access to lots of things. I felt like the price was right too, which really helped me out. As a woman traveling alone, I'd recommend staying here, but even if I get the chance to travel back here with my husband, I'd feel comfortable staying here.

  • Michelle and family were very friendly and even provided breakfast! The bed was soft and super comfortable. The room was clean and has easy access to the front door.

The only warning I will leave here is the Cota house uses soft water which is a very strange experience if you're not used to it. This might be a Pismo thing - we're not sure. Beth and I enjoyed reading about soft water and left with the feeling that we learned something new. We're looking forward to telling our friends, family, and anyone that will listen really, about the science behind soft water, how it feels on your skin, and the positive affects on the pipes in your house.

    Thanks Cota's!!

  • We enjoyed our time at the Cota's. The room was comfortable with all the amenities. We had the opportunity to met her and some of her family and they all made us feel right at home!

  • We were driving down the pacific coast and Michelle's house (email hidden) to stop.
We sent her a message a couple of days before our stay and she promptly replied and sent some tips that helped on our trip.
We arrived very late on a Saturday but she received us and shared some tips on places to dine.
The room was very comfortable and clean with a nice shower, a frigobar and a coffee maker (she also provided some coffee and tea). The room is very close to the house entrance, so we could easily go in and out and it provided some privacy.
In the morning the family shared their breakfast and also some tips for the rest of the trip.
If you happen to be around we would definitely recommend Michelle's house.
