  • This is the second time we have stayed with Ketsuda and Steven and it was wonderful being with them. This property/apartment is further from the central Chiang Mai and we liked that. It is a more typical and normal neighborhood, but you will want to rent their moped or bicycle to get into the city. They are such nice hosts and always friendly and there to help. Now there is a nice cafe on the ground floor so you do not have to go far to eat some wonderful food! We will continue to stay here when we are in Chiang Mai!

  • Staying with Stephen and Ketsuda (and the three nice dogs) was a very pleasant experience. The place is located in an authentic Thai neighborhood but still very close to the old city. The room was as described in the internet and certainly worth its price. Stephen and Ketsuda were great hosts, directed us to truly interesting places and events and helped whenever we needed anything. We highly recommend this appartment.

  • Ketsuda and Steven were very welcoming and full of information. They helped us get oriented and get around. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Recommend you get the one with air conditioning in the hot weather. Lovely people.

  • This was a special place to hideaway. I stayed with Steve and Ketsuda in Chiang Mai for a week. It was a relaxing and quiet location where I was well cared for during this time outside the confines of the city walls. It took a few days to get acquainted inasmuch as this location was not festooned with English signage as in the city center but it was worth the extra effort to me in that I could feel a truer presence of Thai culture surrounding me as I found places where I could eat and revel in the spirit of my easily made friendships. I do heartily recommend this Airbnb site.

  • I had a great stay at Stephen and Ketsuda's place. They were both very kind and went out of their way to make me feel comfortable in Chiang Mai. The room itself was very clean and spacious. The room was a bit out of the way from the "touristy" area, so I felt like I got a better feel for what it would be like to live in Chiang Mai. Highly recommended!

  • Ketsuda & Stephen were great hosts- really helpful, knowledgeable & warm. This is the second time I've stay with them. This room is a hidden gem. It is huge!! The building has a great balcony where you can watch the world go by, stare the stars & the moon, see the regular fireworks or watch the sunset and the mountains. You get to hang out in real local neighbourhood here. Bonus! There's a food store across the road where they make the best fried rice! It's close to the Airport Plaza (big shopping centre) and the Saturday street market (great food).

  • A nice place to stay off the beaten path of Chiang Mai. Ketsuda and Steve were very attentive hosts. They presented me with a list of things to do in the area upon my arrival. Also, they made reservations (email hidden) school, before my visit. The place is clean, quiet, and very comfortable. If I'm in the area again, I will look them up again. Thanks for everything.

  • Ketsuda and Stephen are wonderful hosts and were keen to be sure we had everything we needed to be comfortable. Ketsuda even helped with getting a haircut and having some clothes repaired, going well beyond the call of duty. The property itself was clean and tidy, cozy, secure and quiet. And being in the 'hidden' neighborhood offered a real chance to experience local life while being within easy reach of shopping, sites and restaurants. We recommend them wholeheartedly and look forward to staying again.

  • Ketsuda & Stephen were really really warm and welcoming. Helpful also when it was to go to the temple (Stephen gave me a ride)
I really appreciate the (short) time spent there
Looking forward to come again !

CMStay - Website Owner
Hi, I'm Ketsuda, but most people simply call me by my nickname, King. I am a born and raised Chiang Mai(-ian) married to an American ex-pat. We raise three dogs and are soon to welcome our first child into the world! I started the business now known as CMStay in 2010 to fill a obvious gap in the local hospitality market. Nobody was catering to the real travellers and digital nomads of the day. Your choices were the big hotel with big hotel prices or cheap hostels with no privacy and dicey internet. Both were only prepared to take your payment, hand you the keys and that was it. At CMStay, our goal is to give you a running head start from the moment you arrive in Chiang Mai. We have spent the last three years doing our best to convey our local knowledge to new arrivals. From the best local eateries, where to get freshest fruits/veggies, places that cater to specific diets, different schools for Massage/Yoga, how to get around our city like a local, to setting up tours/drivers at non-tourist prices. The list goes on.... All units include STABLE, HIGH-SPEED WiFi, Cable TV, AirCon, working desk, Western style toilet, among other basics all travelers would appreciate. CMStay currently has two locations: CMStay @Baan Ouikum is inside the Old City walls and moat. Close to the Sunday market and the tourist center, but far enough to be outside of the noise. CMStay @Sethee Court is near the Saturday night market, Old Medicine Hospital, and SVG massage center. This location is close to the Old City, but set inside a local Thai neighborhood. I like to believe that we are great hosts, we are multi-lingual and have a strong knowledge base of Chiang Mai which can help with the nuances of traveling in a new country. We're always looking forward to meeting new people and maybe even being able to help a newbie find their way around. Most of all, we are always willing to try and help. If you have any questions/needs we are always happy to help!
