Clean, quiet and comfortable, our renovated, self-contained flat for two has everything you need to relax or as a base of exploration for the stunning north-west of Tasmania. Equally comfortable for a couple or two or one singles, you will delight in the breath-taking and ever-changing views from your flat. Savour your breakfast while overlooking fields and Bass Strait from our stunning location or enjoy local tastes and wines from this pristine area of Tasmania.

The space
Your flat has a separate bedroom with queen bed, an open living area next to the kitchen for eating and relaxing as well as a sunroom to enjoy our views. In the kitchen you will have the use of an electric 4-burner cooktop, a microwave, small fridge and all equipment. Heating and cooling is provided by a reverse-cycle a/c as well as good insulation and double glazing on the north facing entry to the flat. Please note the second bed space is a futon that converts to a three-quarter sized bed.

Being set high and only 3km inland from the picturesque township of Penguin, our property has expansive views. We see Bass Strait to the north and the daily sailing of the Spirit of Tasmania. While in the east we see farmland, forests and lights at night as far as Low Head at the Head of the Tamar river. In the south, we see rolling hills and, our favourite, Mt Roland, with its enticing mood changes according to the weather. We often see a family of Wedge-Tailed Eagles soaring nearby. On the ground we host at least 39 species of birds, while in the evening our property is home to pademelons, wallabies and the occasional echidna.

We were part of a seven day makeover of Penguin (a short video is available on internet and gives a great viewing of our town). We helped paint the Penguin bins! Penguin is only a two-minute drive away for walks, swims, cafes and restaurants. While the Bass highway is down the road and round the corner for ease of access to other areas of the northwest. Alternatively why not explore the back roads which will show you both the variety of crops grown in the area and give you stunning views. The first Coles store is a half hour rural drive in the picturesque township of Wilmot. You will have ease of access to explore the coast line of the north west, and other little towns, or go further afield to some of our favourite areas at Cradle Mountain or the Tarkine.

We love and are committed to protecting this unique area so our property is on tank water, has a bacterial sewerage system, double glazed windows and solar power to help sustain our stunning environment.

My partner Erik and I have travelled and worked around Australia for the past ten years until we house sat at Penguin in July 2018 and fell in love with it. I am a yoga therapist, who trains yoga teachers in yoga therapy, a yoga and Pilates teacher and also do online marking for students of English for Speakers of Other Languages for TAFE digital. Erik is a retired university lecturer in French and French cinema.

We love bushwalking, bush regeneration, flora and fauna, cinema and reading as well as time with family, friends, and meeting new people. Our property has many native trees and shrubs, birds and little animals such as echidna and poteroos. When travelling, we prefer airbandb accommodation to hotel accommodation, whether for work or holidays and so decided to renovate the flat in our newly bought home and make it available for accommodation to our beautiful little area of the world. We really love this area and our community and can't wait to share it with our guests.

I am also able to offer as an extra yoga or Pilates sessions or a full yoga therapy session.
