Hello, we are Giorgia and Michael, and this was our home until march 2012 ... This is our first home together, everything was chosen with love and following our own tastes, or the result of our trips. The house consists of a small but well-fitted kitchen with fridge, stove, oven, microwave and everything you need to prepare your dinners. The living room is my favorite part, has 2 windows overlooking a beautiful garden and a red sofa bed where you can relax while watching the moon ... In the bedroom you find a double bed and a huge wardrobe, which is all at your disposal. We will be happy to share with you our space and give you the feeling of real Venetians life.
As you understand we are not an agency so check in and check out are made by us (me or Michele) depending on our free time from our job. So please be so kind to advise as soon as you can the time of your arrival. We have no problem from 2 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. Should you arrive later we can ask an extra of 30 euros for late check in.
Please note that in Venice we have city tax: 1,5 euro per person per day
The apartment is on the third floor without lift. It can be an hard walking if you have some problem to the legs or if you are not used to it!
NO SMOKING apartment!
You cannot bring extra people during your stay without declaring them at the check in.
Documents (id or passport) are necessary to check in.
City tax should be paid at the check in and it is 1,5 euro per person per night.
Dishes has to be washed at the moment of check out and rubbish should be devided and put outside the door by 8 am.
You are kindly required to advise about arrival time as soon as you can. As we personally come to pick you up in Venice, we need to know flight or train details.
Late check in has an extra cost of 30 euros. Please advise in advance about this possibility.
We really loved our stay at Giorgia and Michele's apartment. Anna met us at the station, showed us to the apt., and spent a lot of time with us giving tips on places to eat and drink in Venice. The apartment was clean and well equipped (dishwasher, dishes, hairdryer, some maps and books from previous visitors, internet, etc), and we especially loved how comfortable the bed was! The view from the kitchen window was also beautiful, and I loved looking out early in the morning and later at night, watching the neighborhood go about its business.
The location is truly the best part about this apartment. It was so close to the train station and the vaporetto, but in a neighborhood (Santa Croce) where it was easy to get away from touristy streets and feel like we were in another world, the real Venice, not the Venice that can feel like Disney World. We walked almost everywhere, and when we were finally exhausted or needed to go somewhere a little further, the vaporetto was right there. Our goal is always to travel like locals, so this really was a great apartment for us. We loved being so near the Conad grocery store and feeling like we were going "home" at night instead of to a hotel.
Being able to do a little laundry was also a plus, and one of the specific reasons we chose this listing as it allowed us to travel very light. We didn't need to use the A/C but the heat worked well.
Note: The apartment is on the third floor and there are only stairs, which was no problem for us at all, but anyone with mobility issues should take note.
We have already talked about returning someday!!! We loved Venice and loved this apartment. Grazie mille!
It was my first Airbnb experience and it was wonderful.
If you want to have a memorable vacation in Venice I recommend you to stay in Giorgia&Michele's apartment.
Very convenient location (2 min from the train station), amazing view, cozy atmosphere, comfortable bed, well equipped kitchen, quiet in the nights and everything good that the other guests have written.
We were met by Giorgio(& her baby) at the train station and brought to her apartment. We knew that the apartment was on the 3rd floor with no lift but it looked inviting in the pictures as well as in real life! It was not far from the train station (about 3 mins). The apartment was big and good for a couple with plenty of space. It didn't smell and was bright and airy. Giorgio and Michele made us feel at home with juice/milk/bread and all the available kitchen cutlery and equipment and of course the whole place at our disposal.
They gave us tips on where to dine and places to visit. We found that it was helpful especially for our trip to Murano and Burano - we didn't book with a tour agency, but took their advice and explored via the water buses (20 euro for 24 hrs) that plied between the islands and Venice. We didn't need to follow tour schedule but was able to decide on our own when and where to go. So we took our time to explore and bought the glassware and laces from the two islands. Venice is not a huge place but walking can be confusing and tiring. The apartment is not near the tourist places which is good because it was quiet and safe. There was a small supermarket close by with many eateries and gelato places along the waterfront.
I would recommend to bring slippers as it can be quite cold after a shower. Also, the TV keeps resetting which can be disconcerting. Don't expect too many English channels. We were kept enthralled on re-runs of Law & Order & Knight Rider on the 2 available English channels when we made it 'home' after a tiring day of exploring! But you are usually not always in the apartment so it is not a big problem.
We would recommend GIorgio & Michele's place but you need to take note and be fit and able to bring your luggage up 3 flights of stairs (even if there was help). :-)
A very nice first Airbnb experience. I greatly appreciated that Michele took time to provide me with information about attractions and restaurants custom to my needs and interests during check-in and he was patient waiting for me at the bus station when I ran late after the airline lost my luggage. Michele is clearly passionate about Venice and visitors having the best exeprience possible. The apartment is very well located - close to the bus and train stations and vaperetto with groceries nearby. Very reasonably equipped with everything you need. When we realized during Michele's review and tour of the apartment during check-in that there was no dishwasher detergent he was also kind enough to drop some off a day or two later - that was also appreciated. Also the pictures and description of the apartment were accurate. Finally, I greatly enjoyed the brightness (it's a very bright apartment by any standards and I suspect very bright by Venice standards) and open outlook of the apartment over the canal to a courtyard.
Giorgia thanks so much. Your apartment in Venice was amazing. Great location, great view, clean and easy to find. Look forward to staying next time. Thanks again Patrick & Nicola
The apartment is extremely close to the station. The hosts are very nice, good communication and very helpful. They provided us clear routes to restaurants and the sceneries. They took us from the station to the apartment. It was great to staying here.
The only bad thing is that the apartment is on the third floor. We had to moved our luggages up. But Giorgia helped us alot! And the view on the third floor is great! You can see the canal.
Thanks Giorgia and Michele! :)
