  • We very much enjoyed our stay at the design apartment. The apartment has everything and we think Trastevere is the best neighborhood of Rome.

  • All I can say is W-O-W. As a first time visitor to Italy and Rome – I could not have asked for a better location and place to stay than Maria's Design Apartment. She was so hospitable and friendly before our arrival and made us really feel like locals.

The location is perfect, just off the main street and walking distances to all attractions. We did not take a taxi or bus once!

Thank you again, we can't wait to come back.

  • We were very happy to stay at Maria's apartment. The apartment was clean when we arrived and everything worked fine. The only downside was the waterheater at the bathroom which only leaved room for very short showers. But that is the only negative issue we can adresse. Maria was quick to reply on our messages before we arrived and also during our stay. The check-in went smooth, meeting the housekeeper in the apartment. The apartment is placed very central with all tourist attractions within walking distance. The area is very nice with lots of good restaurants and bars.

  • A very comfortable apartment close to the city centre. We stayed for a week and we felt right at home. We cooked dinner a few times which was possible in the well equipped kitchen. There is an organic food shop close by. Maria has a booklet with all helpful information also on shops and public transport.
If you are a light sleeper or are very sensitive to noise: all movements from the upper floor can be heard, but for us, after a long day of walking we slept right through it.
When you are there on a Sunday: try the extensive market near Porta Portese to catch a glimpse of every day Rome.

  • Maria's flat is fantastic. It is well situated in Trastevere down a quiet street, so you can enjoy all that Trastevere has to offer without the noise. It's then a short walk across the river to Piazza Navona, Campo di Fiori, etc. The place is fairly spacious - I never felt cramped. It's newly renovated, so everything is in good working condition, such as the washing machine and dishwasher. The wifi connection works well too. And as a host, Maria is very welcoming and a pleasure to deal with. She runs things well.

The only catch is the electricity bill. If staying for a longer period, you should budget extra money. There is a built-in allowance into the rate. However, it is only appropriate for shorter stays. I was an extended stay guest, was out of Rome for half of the time, did not use heat over the winter, and still ended up with a chunky charge to pay last minute.

  • We had a wonderfull week in rome. Marias apartment was exactly as described: modern, nice and with all you need for a pleasant stay. It is perfect located - quiet, but only a few minutes away from trastevere's buzz. taxi and bus stop are 1 minute away, although the most popular attractions are in walking distance.
Maria was always available for us and verry helpfull. Our expectations have been met. Highly recommended.

  • We had a very nice stay at Maria's Trastevere apartment. The apartment is very well decorated with unique pieces of art hanging on the wall and well-furnished which makes you feel at home (hair dryer, iron and iron table, lots of plugs, dish washer, microwave, dishes and cutlery and even a small authentic Italian coffee maker, etc. etc.) and contains a lot of storage space for clothes. Trastevere is a very convenient location both from a leisure (bars, restaurants, local Italian food stores) and cultural (monuments, museums) standpoints as everything is really at walking distance. Maria was a great host as she helped through the whole trip door to door and answered very quickly to all our messages. We highly recommend this place for a stay in Rome and will definitely go back for our next visit.

  • Incredible apartment. Comfortable big. Felt like home. It's right smack dab in the middle of trastevere you feel like you're living in Rome! Maria was prompt in her responses and always available. It's worth every penny!!

  • The apartment was a beautifully laid out environment with a rustic feel which added to our stay. We were visiting family who live in San Felice and stumbled on to this shortly before coming! Even though we didn't physically meet Maria we had a real pleasure of dealing with Moina who was an attentive and helpful host! I would reccomend this apartment to anyone wanting a relaxing break in the heart of Terracina and on the beach!

I believe that travelling has the power to heal, energize and improve the world, and I’m proud to be a part of this community. I was born in Rome and raised in Pompeii as both my parents are archaeologists. I moved back to Rome 15 years ago. My interests are travels, food, photography, foreign languages and my favorite hobby is home design and interior decorating, I enjoy anything creative! I love Italian, Japanese, Russian and Greek food, I also like to cook. Travel is definitely my biggest passion and it has taken me and my long time boyfriend Federico to about twenty countries along the five continents. When I travel, I look for places that are not ultra touristy. I want to experience the restaurants and bars that the locals know and love. I'm hoping that you seek the same. I can recommend some really cool places and things to see/eat/do if you'd like. I absolutely love Rome and I am the biggest ambassador for it. I love to welcome people from all over the world to this great city so they can share the love that I have for it as well! I've had some amazing people from all over the world stay at my place and look forward to hosting you. See you soon in Rome!
