The Reindeer Haus is perfect for one or two people who enjoy the peace and quiet of staying in a private chalet. Our cozy house has a full living, dining, and kitchen area on the main level with a full loft upstairs complete with sleeping and sitting area.

Situated on a four-acre parcel, and connected to our reindeer ranch, in a beautiful neighborhood in the hills of the Goldstream Valley. This is a perfect place to relax and enjoy the quiet nature that surrounds this darling Chalet.

The space
The Reindeer Haus is a darling one bedroom cedar chalet that sits adjacent to Running Reindeer Ranch. Its reindeer theme adds to the charm of the place and accentuates the birch and spruce forest that surround this charmer. This cozy, cedar home has beautiful views of the Alaska Range and the magical forest surrounds you. Enjoy a warm fire in the outdoor fire pit or inside with the wood stove, explore the 13 acres of birch and spruce forest that surround the chalet by foot or snowshoe. Watch the wild birds visit the feeders and perhaps there will be a reindeer or two or eleven that wander within view! Our husky, Garnet, is always happy to greet you and to keep you company! Perhaps you will see the moose, fox, lynx or porcupine that wanders through the property or the aurora borealis dancing above on a cold winter night! But rest assured you will not have to worry about bears!

Guests have access to the full house but share the kitchen and lower level bathroom during our reindeer tour and reindeer yoga times. Times vary by season, please ask for specific details of when you will be traveling. We take COVID protocols seriously and the shared space will be cleaned and sanitized before and after our tour. Guests will need to share the common space during that time. There is a half bath and a sitting area, besides the bedroom, upstairs, for the exclusive use of our B&B guests. No one, except you, will have access to that space during your stay. We hope our Reindeer Haus guests will join us for our award winning Reindeer Walk tour so you can learn to love and appreciate reindeer as much as we do! Please see the Running Reindeer Ranch website and reviews on Tripadvisor. Tours must be booked in advance and separately from our B&B experience.

If you have any questions, please contact us before booking. A phone call is usually most efficient. Our phone number cannot be given here (Air BnB rules) but can be found on the Running Reindeer Ranch website or Facebook page.
We, Doug and Jane, live right next door with our 13 reindeer and our husky, Garnet. Doug has lived in Fairbanks over 40 years, Jane is a life-long Alaskan, and we truly love our community and enjoy sharing it with others.

Thanks so much! We truly hope you will enjoy your stay in Fairbanks!

Where you’ll be

Fairbanks, Alaska, United States

We live in rural Fairbanks just 10 minutes from the University, 25 minutes from downtown. The Reindeer Haus Chalet sits on four acres of boreal forest and is part of a 13 acre parcel owned by Doug and Jane. View the Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights) from the Reindeer Haus during the winter months! Reap the benefits of our organic garden during the summer months but whenever you come, be the guest of this warm, welcoming Alaskan family and discover why we would never want to live anywhere else!

There are several restaurants within a few miles and if you wish to really want to get to know the local flavor then you can visit Ivory Jack's, a unique local bar-Fairbanks style!

We are at the base of Moose Mountain, a fun, local, alpine ski area. Hiking, snowshoeing and Nordic skiing abound in the area. Aurora viewing, sledding, berry picking, and mountain bike trails are all very close by. Situated in the Northwest part of Fairbanks we are just ten minutes from the University, twenty-five minutes from downtown and twenty easy minutes from the airport. We invite you to come love our ALASKA the way we do!

I have lived in Alaska my whole life and love it here. I am an avid gardener and love to be outside! I also love to travel to places all over the world to explore the unique nature and cultures of other areas.
