Getting Around Sydney:
The best way to see the area is to walk, you can get to most of the CBD and sights within a 20 to 40 minute walk. I know because I walk across the CBD every day to Kent Street to go to work.
Need to travel a bit further? The CityRail train network will get you right around the state, to the airport and CountryLink interstate. You can even purchase Mymult tickets which also include Bus and Ferry travel or a Bondi Beach Link ticket. We're a two minute walk from Kings Cross Station (Zone 1) so checkout the Cityrail website to check timetables and ticket pricing. I'm happy to provide any assistance with purchasing tickets and changing trains, just ask.
Traveling late? It is a $10 taxi ride, depending on traffic, from the Opera House and Circular Quay to give you a guide of price and distance.
Also there are between 2 and 4 GoGet cars within 50-100 meters from our home!
Who I am:
I am a friendly and quiet working professional. I recently traveled Europe with the help of some lovely Airbnb hosts. In fact, I loved it so much I thought I'd love to host some Airbnb travelers too.
This was a cool little place to stay. I contacted Nick at short notice & he was more than happy to accommodate me. I wasn't in the house a lot, but it was very nice & clean, with everything you need for your stay.
Accessibility was easy with the keys, and it's in a great location. I was a big fan of the Cichlids just quietly ;-)
The lads were very nice and friendly even though I rarely saw them really! They were very laid back and I was left to myself. The bed was comfy and it was nice to have a balcony to sit and have breakfast on.
The apartment is very near the botanical gardens and a beautiful wharf which was lovely, although I will say there are slopes and steps so if you are a less able walker this may not be the area for you. The street was quite noisy at times and there was quite a bit of rubbish about, but it's still way better than staying at a Kings cross backpackers! It was simple accommodation but nice to have my own space at the end of a busy day out.
Also don't stay here if you're squeamish about the slightly dodgy Kings cross area as its pretty near. Would be good for young and funky travellers who don't want to stay in a hostel.
Perfect uncomplicated communikation with Mat and friedly great talks with Nic. The flat is modern and tidy, we felt us home. You can easilly walk into the city, go shopping... and you will get tips what is worth to see and do around. These guys really know what airbnb is! Thanks for the awesome time in Sydney!
The location is good for city centre access, but the neighbourhood is a bit run down, quiet a bit of noise at night from the neighbouring developments. Would not be very comfortable walking around at night on my own.
We had a great stay at Matt's place. The house and the room is nice and clean. The appartment is well situated near Kings Cross station, you can also discover Sydney by foot.
Mathew was very friendly and his appartment was so lovely and very clean. It was really close to everything, walking distance to the CBD. We'd recommend, with no hesitation, Mathew and his apartment ! .
We had an excellent stay at Matthew's. We arrived quite early, but he was happy to accommodate us and to answer all of our questions. The room is located close to the city center (only half an hour walk to the Opera House) and public transportation was also near. Both Mathew and Nick are great people to hang around with and my wife and me had a number of nice chats with them. Definitely recommended if you want to discover Sydney!
Matt and his room mate are cool, friendly, laid back guys. My husband and I had great conversations with both of them. They were both very accommodating and made check in and check out very easy for us.
The house is just a few minutes walk from the King Cross train station. Depending on how far you want to walk, it's walkable to CBD, Botanical gardens, parks and harbors. We were able to explore the city on foot since we enjoy walking. It was interesting to find that the house was on a quiet street and the night life is just a couple of blocks and streets out. So there were lots of pubs and restaurants nearby. I would recommend the hosts and their place.
it was a great Location, you can walk almost everywhere by feed. we didn't not meet Mathew but his flat mate Nick was a very helpful and friendly person. the room was tidy and the whole flat was very nice. we had a few funny conversations with Nick. if we ever come to Syndey agian, we would love to stay there again!
Amazing location. So many places to eat close by and being so close to Kings Cross Station made the rest of Sydney very accessible. Although walking everywhere is a great option also with CBD being so close. Didn't have the opportunity to meet Mat in person due to him being away on business, but he was incredibly helpful prior too my arrival and was kind enough to make sure I had arrived and that there hadn't been any issues trying to get into his place. His place was clean and tidy and perfect for my visit. His housemate Nick was a gem. There are not enough ways to thank both for everything. When I return to Sydney I will definitely be booking with Mat again.
