Welcome to Birch Island,
Here is some helpful information regarding your stay:

•We have left the key for the camp on the table and you may leave it on the table when you leave.
•Please don’t be alarmed at the running of the pump. It is pumping water from the lake.
•We do not drink the lake water, although it has been tested and is safe, but it is preferable to bring and use bottled water. We do brush our teeth, shower, and cook with the water, etc.
•We have left some spring water in the refrigerator.
•You are welcome to use the paddle boat and kayaks only at your own risk, of course. We do have life jackets in the shed. Please put all equipment back when you are finished. All boating and swimming is at your own risk.
•On the porch is a gas grill with a side burner. The propane tank is full.(URL HIDDEN)Sometimes the igniter does not work, but you can light the grill using the directions on the grill with a propane lighter that is provided. Please put the grill cover over the grill when you leave.
•The oven has a pilot light but the top burners need to be lit by a match. Please do not deep-fry foods!!!. There is not an exhaust fan for the stove and the grease goes everywhere.
•Track lights over the counter area are on a dimmer. Please make sure you PUSH them off… just turning them down does not do it.
•When you leave, please strip the beds and place all sheets, towels, etc. in the black plastic trash bags (provided) and leave in kitchen.
•When the trash bag is full of trash, tie it and place it in the little shed. We do have redemption, so place any bottles that have a deposit also in the shed.
•The futon and sofa are beds and the linens are in the green dresser.
•If you take out games, books, puzzles please put them back where you found them.
•When you leave just place the key on the table and please make sure all the lights and appliances are off.
•Monitor heater-to run the heater you need to pull flap open on the front of the heater then use the up/down arrows to set to desired temperature then press set or it will revert back to previous temperature.
•When you leave please put temperature back down to 55 and then press set.
•If you have pets, please treat our cottage and the island with respect.(URL HIDDEN)Dogs do need to be on a leash. We ask that you do not have them on the furniture or have them scratch the screens or doors.
•Our names are John and Elaine Seavey and we are the owners of the camp and our phone number is (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN). If you have any questions or problems please don’t hesitate to call. A copy of this will be left on the table with the key.

We hope you have a wonderful time at our cottage and thank you for being thoughtful guests!!!!

I am a retired history and government teacher from Oklahoma. Originally from Maine, lived in Oklahoma for 34 Years and retired back to Maine with my husband. We also have children and family in the area-which is wonderful. We have such a cute cottage that we wish to share with others although we take every opportunity to enjoy it ourselves with our family. I love being with my family, movies and enjoy traveling.
