Interaction with Guests
i'm always available on the phone, or of course via email, my wonderful friends Annemarie, Eileen and Ian are always on hand if I'm not in Olvera, as is my wonderful change over lady Rosario and her husband and lovely daughter Angela who live next door, Angela loves to practice her english, and Rosario knows the house best.
I love that when you wake up in Lemon Tree you can hear the birds singing, although you are in the middle of town, its lovely to hear the birds from the hill behind, I love that feeling of being in the countryside but in the heart of the village.
No-where is far to walk from Lemon Tree, and you have a number of great shops and restaurants within easy access,
You can usually park close to Lemon Tree, and can always pull up outside to drop bags or shopping off, the bus stop is short walk from the house, and there is a large car park on the street below.
We can always arrange lifts from the airport if needed. so please just ask.

And No.1 Rule is have fun and enjoy our home!
Both myself and Danny really enjoyed staying at 'The Lemon Tree'. It is priced just right for the accomodation. The flat is cheery, characterful and has everything you need. We feel we had a full on Olvera experience as the flat is tucked in amongst the homes of the folk who live there, so lots of folk out chatting on the streets and kids playing, and we got cheery 'Holas' which was good.
Zoe's next door neighbour gave us the key as pre arranged so that was easy.
Really nice place, had breakfast on the patio and sat out there in the evenings.
We did both have an 'Oh no' experience when we arrived as directly opposite on the street(which is about the width of a car)there is a house being built. The work on it was intermittent but one day was pretty awful with power tools, vehicles, workmen's calling out to each other because it is literally only a few meters away facing the bedroom! But most days were ok.
We definitely recommend The Lemon Tree and would happily give it a 5 star except for the building site opposite, but this will just be temporary....
Zoe was a wonderful host and her apartment was beautiful! She had plenty of multi lingual people around to help us and she was constantly available for questions. She also had lots of contacts in the town for things we needed!
The flat itself was perfect. Very large, 2 floors, 2 full bathrooms, english channels on TV, and very comfortable indeed. The patios were gorgeous! It was so pleasant to sit upstairs outside in the evening and read a book. The location was wonderful, a nice side street with great neighbors and close to everything.
We really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend it to anyone looking to stay in Olvera, or anyone looking for a nice quiet, relaxing, mountain getaway to the "real" Spain!
My husband and I stayed five wonderful days in Zoe's cosy and romantic house. We spent the afternoons reading on the shady terrace and went out in the mornings and late afternoons for biking the Via Verde de la Sierra, visiting the local cultural highlights and climbing the steep narrow streets of the town.
Communication with Zoe and Annemarie was perfect. Good information and immediate reaction on questions.
Shower, towels and bed, internet, everything fine. The house is on walking distance from the bus station and the Via Verde.
Zoe's place is simply great. Staying there will give you a taste of what life in Olvera is like. Friendly neighbours, laid back experience, convenient to shops and bars. The little courtyard and terrace is great for relaxing at the end of the day and early morning. Every care is taken to ensure that you have a smooth check-in and out. I would highly recommend Zoe's place in Olvera.
This is a cosy little house right in the middle of a very nice town which gives perfect opportunity for enjoying original Andalusian atmosphere apart from the beaten track. We did not meet Zoe, but were welcomed warmly at the house by her friend Annemarie, and husband Marc also helped to park the car in the pretty narrow street. Generally, one will have to park elsewhere and walk to the house, which was no problem at all for us. Clean and well-equipped. The table on the upstairs terrace enables nice open-air breakfasts. This is also the only table in the house fit for dining, and a Spanish dinner after sunset will be a candlelight dinner since there is no lamp.
Thanks for your review and glad you had a great time. I will look into getting a light up on the terrace - the town hall used to light up the rock at the back - but I dont think the light is used (or maybe not working) so will check that out thank you :)
The dining table downstairs in the house extends out into a good sized dining table, Sorry we should have show you this extended. x :)
Warmest Wishes, Zoe

About the Host, Zoe
Zoë's love affair with Spain started when she was an au-pair in her teens. After having a awful experience, being rescued from the family by a old family friend she spent the next few years trying to get back to Spain. She even told her husband when they first met that one day they would live in Spain ! In 2002 they finally sold their house, bought a VW camper and set off for Spain. After a few months searching (and making a few mistakes!) they found Olvera. After driving through sunflower fields to Olvera, they were dragged round by umpteen people and shown in the blistering sun 9 houses. They couldn't remember what they'd seen, but decided to go with the first house they saw (maybe the only one remembered?!) Since that first home in Olvera, Zoë has bought and renovated houses in Olvera and Pruna and continue to love the area and the people here. Everybody is so friendly and welcoming! Zoë's love of old houses, architecture and photography are evident in how many photos she takes of the area. Her dedication to her clients, neighbours, family and friends is evident throughout the town she has made her second home, Olvera, She now divides her time between Olvera and Wales, and when she can get there Morocco :O)
The Via verde is 38kms of unspoilt green walkways, suitable for any age, you can also cycle from Olvera, thought the old train tunnels. perfect for walking or cycling or even horse riding.Zaframagon 11690
