Overall Guest Satisfaction

Check In

  • Zoe's Lemon Tree Patio is a little slice of heaven in one of the prettiest white villages in Andalucia. We booked an entire month and could not have been happier with our accommodations. Her home is spacious for a small family and equipped with everything you might need for a comfortable stay. The rental price was also very affordable in my opionion. I spent many hours on the patio enjoying the spectacular view of the cliffside. We were unable to meet Zoe personally, but her friend Anne-Marie met us at the bus stop upon our arrival, gave us advice about the town, and was always available for any questions we had. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

  • Actually we didn t stay at Zoe place because a double booking. She kindly arranged another place for us to stay at Stairway to Heaven, a lovely little house with fantastic wiew from the high terrace..at Lynda .
    highly recommended.
Olvera is a beautiful white village far from the crowd of tourists and it is perfect that way. Lots of walks around and Ronda acessible by bus,and very friendly people in the village. We recommend the charming restaurant with great view :El Tapir Despistado run by a very simpatico couple from Belgium.

    Response from Zoe:

Thank you for being so fantastic! and Next time Lemon Tree will be waiting for you ! So glad you had a great week in Olvera - Its pretty special :)

  • We enjoyed our time in Olvera. The Lemon Tree Patio is situated close to the town center in a residential area. It was a bit busier on that corner than expected due to the nature of the hillside city and one-way streets. We enjoyed being a part of the day-to-day world of this village - also - the Via Verde cycle trail is great (it was our primary draw to Olvera)

I hadn't realized when I rented this place that Zoe actually lives in the UK. From some of the communication, it sounded like she was local. She does have a business in Olvera and employees who assist with the connections with Lemon Tree Patio. Annemarie generally handles this, but was actually out-of-town unexpectedly so we were warmly welcomed (at the bus station) by Ian. He walked with us to the apartment and made sure everything was working and we were fine.

We spent most of seven weeks in AirBnB apartments in Spain. We found that we most enjoyed the ones with more personal contact - whether we shared an apartment or it was attached to the owner's home. Lemon Tree Patio was run more as a business - we had no personal contact during our stay other than email (thanks to Annemarie for help with the bus information).

I would recommend Lemon Tree Patio in general - it's nicely situated, well equipped, enough of the old to have the ambiance of the historic in an updated apartment.

    Response from Zoe:

Thanks for your review Karen and glad you enjoyed your stay at lemon tree, i'm sorry my best friend who meets and greets Annemaire was out of town when you arrived but glad Ian personally looked after you. As well as furnishing you with Eileen's and Ian's contact details and also the neighbour who is lovely and takes care of the the house if you needed anything our Olvera family were only a phone call away.
I do consider myself a local very much so, my heart is defiantly torn between Olvera and my other home Wales which we had to return to just a few years ago, family comes first but we try to spend as much time with our "Olvera family" whom we have known for nearly 10 years.

  • Olvera was a great place from which to explore the Pueblos Blancos. The Lemon Tree Patio apartment is in a great location in Olvera. We didn't meet Zoe, but her friend who opened the house for us was extremely helpful in accommodating our late arrival and helping to orient us to the area. Zoe was prompt and clear in her communications with us. The weather was colder than usual when we arrived so the house was chilly, but it warmed up after a day. It was very handy to have a washing machine and clothes drying racks. Overall we had a comfortable stay.

  • The entire month of March 2013, I was a guest in Lemon Tree Patio in Olvera the house of Zoe Males.
I've had a wonderful time there, the house was perfect and very atmospheric. Especially the wood-stove was extra nice atmosphere and very functional.
Despite the "special" weather in that month, I enjoyed the patio and the large roof terrace with stunning views. The hospitality and helpfulness of Zoe and Annemarie was also fantastic, in short, it could not be better, I'll definitely be back, this year! Karel Boonzaaijer Netherlands

  • We arranged to stay at Lemon Tree Patio for 5 nights in mid October, and we weren't disappointed.
Olvera is a stunning town, and the house was well placed amongst the winding streets.
On our arrival we were greeted by a friend of the host who provided us with keys and was kind enough to tell us everything we needed to know, including advice about local bars and attractions.
The house itself is the perfect size, with a lovely patio and living area.
Zoe was quick to answer any queries we had, and made sure our stay was hassle free.
We hope to return one day!

  • It was great to stay at the apartment which is in a good location in Olvera. The apartment was large enough for the 3 people and it is great that there is another couch in addition to the sofa bed. The house is well equipped for cooking and washing etc. DVDs and CDs and books available etc.

  • We had an amazing time at Zoe's charming little house in the town of Olvera. Zoe was very prompt in her communication, and made arrangements for us even though she was out of town. Frank, who helped us to settle in, was very helpful as well. Despite reports to the contrary, we encountered no problems whatsoever with the Wi-Fi connection. Recommended if you want to get away from it all for a couple of days and succumb to the tranquility of Spanish countryside life.

Zoë's love affair with Spain started when she was an au-pair in her teens. After having a awful experience, being rescued from the family by a old family friend she spent the next few years trying to get back to Spain. She even told her husband when they first met that one day they would live in Spain ! In 2002 they finally sold their house, bought a VW camper and set off for Spain. After a few months searching (and making a few mistakes!) they found Olvera. After driving through sunflower fields to Olvera, they were dragged round by umpteen people and shown in the blistering sun 9 houses. They couldn't remember what they'd seen, but decided to go with the first house they saw (maybe the only one remembered?!) Since that first home in Olvera, Zoë and her husband have bought and renovated houses in Olvera and Pruna and continue to love the area and the people here. Everybody is so friendly and welcoming! Zoë's love of old houses, architecture and photography are evident in how many photos she takes of the area. Her dedication to her clients, neighbours, family and friends is evident throughout the town she has made her home, Olvera, She now divides her time between Olvera and Wales, and when she can get there Morocco :O)
