Location is the big draw here: Situated where Downtown meets the Old West Side, this bottom half of a Victorian house on a quiet street is just three blocks from Ann Arbor's bustling Main Street restaurant scene, shops and nightlife. The YMCA and several yoga studios are a two-minute walk away, the University of Michigan's central campus is a 10-minute walk, and the bus to/from DTW Airport and other points is a five-minute walk.
The small bedroom features a queen bed with a high-end mattress. You'll have the run of the kitchen, dining room and living room, in this beautifully remodeled house with wood floors.
Also offered: wi-fi, parking, laundry facilities, dishwasher and all appliances.
At times when I am out of town (often), I can accommodate up to four people. Adults or kids can use the second bedroom's futon and two loft beds.
I'll also lend you a bicycle (SPD pedals) and a bus pass, if you like.
I don't offer weekly rates, except possibly during the months of July/August 2014, when I will be traveling much of the time.
Feel free to help yourself to anything in the fridge or cupboards...
The host was very accommodating and happily made his mountain bike available to use, which is GREAT for getting around Ann Arbor. (Note: It has SPD pedals.) There is no A/C but the fan was a suitable substitute even with high humidity one night. Nice to have washer and dryer available if needed. Location is excellent; short walk from bus station and downtown and half a block from the YMCA.
Tom was a fantastic host, and his boys were great and have excellent taste in science fiction! The space was comfortable, homey, and extremely conveniently located. Staying here can only add to your adventure (in the most positive way).
I spent 4 days at Tom's and it was great. The neighborhood is really charming and the house is literally 10 min walking from the U of Michigan.
I would definitely recommend to stay with Tom, when I arrived he was on a trip but he left everything I needed and I felt immediately at home. We met on my last day and I really appreciated Tom's kindness.
Overall, a nice and friendly address to stay in Ann Arbor.
Tom was a great host. This was our first airbnb stay. Tom made us feel welcome, and checked in with us to see that we had all that we needed. We really enjoyed talking with him about his work and his travels. It was also nice to be within walking distance of downtown. We would be happy to stay with him in the future, and would recommend him to others.
Tom was a gracious and responsive host. His cozy and tidy apartment is well-located near the numerous bars and restaurants along Washington and Main Street in downtown Ann Arbor. My only (very minor) complaint was the shower's low water pressure. Nonetheless, I would happily stay here again!
Tom was a very warm and engaging host. His apartment in
Ann Arbor was wonderfully centrally-located, and I could
easily walk to all points downtown and to the UM campus.
Highly recommend for a great Ann Arbor experience!
Tom was a great host! As a first time airbnb user, I was a little wary, but he was very responsive and communicated with me throughout my trip. His stories were also captivating and it was great to be in such a central location. Coffee shops and restaurants are within walking distance. The room was a perfect size and the house was also nice.

Tom is a great host! His stories are fascinating, and his place is very convenient to the university.
