Thanks for checking out my listing :)
I have a room for short term stays in a beautiful modern apartment in a secure gated compound in Nairobi's leafy Riverside neighborhood.
It has two en suite bedrooms so I'll have one and you will be renting the other. I think they are the same size but yours is nicer :)
You will have your own hot water shower, toilet, small balcony and ample closet space. The room has two comfortable 3'6 x 6'3" beds so you are welcome to bring a friend at no extra charge if you like.
Food and drink is not included in the price. But worry not, you will also have access to a modern kitchen for your use which includes a cooker, oven, fridge, microwave, coffee maker and toaster.
I travel out of town quite a bit - every other week for about a week - so for the most part it's likely you will have the whole apartment to yourself to enjoy. But should your stay in Nairobi coincide with mine worry not, people say I make a pretty good housemate. I'll arrange to be around to meet you when you first move in to help you get settled in and provide as much info you might need about the apartment, neighborhood and Nairobi in general.
The apartment is truly ideally located; only 2 km from the bustling, hippy and trendy Westlands area full of restaurants, bars and malls, a mere 4.5 km from Nairobi's central business district and only 4 km from up-market and happening Lavington Green. Ask anyone who knows Nairobi and they will confirm that this isn't false advertising, you would find a hard time picking a better spot to pitch camp while you are in our beautiful city.
Security unfortunately has become a major concern in Nairobi but you couldn't feel any safer here. The apartment complex is under 24 hour security surveillance by Radar Security, one of Nairobi's top reputable security firms. The area is also home to a number of foreign embassies and consulates including the Australian, German and Japanese embassies and their residences, which makes for an even safer neighborhood.
Do you have a car? No problem, the space comes with ample secure parking. Do you need access to public transportation? There is a bus stop just a 3 minute walk away. Do you prefer to use cabs? I can arrange for a reliable and trustworthy taxi driver to be a phone call away when needed
Nothing major, just a few:
- Please no smoking in the apartment. Don't panic though, you can always step out on one of the the balconies and enjoy the cool breeze as you puff away :)
- No Parties
- Please be mindful of the neighbors by keeping noise levels down, they are really cool people
- There is a KES 1,600 fee for lost keys
- No shoes in the apartment, house slippers will be provided to keep it clean
- No pets. I looove animals but unfortunately the apartment just isn't pet friendly :(
- And one last thing, please treat the apartment as you would your own. I love it and it's my only one :)
I hope you do pick to stay here and I look forward to hopefully meeting and hosting you
We had a fantastic stay with Martin. His place is exactly as described--it was spacious, modern, clean and comfortable. Martin went above and beyond to make us feel at home from the moment we arrived on his doorstep. He described everything we needed in detail when we arrived, and he went out of his way to ensure we were comfortably set up. He was a real pleasure to meet and talk with every night. It felt like meeting a long-lost friend, right from the start, simply because of his warm personality. He is engaging and gracious and has a great perspective on local Nairobi hot spots. In short, you owe it to yourself to consider staying at Martin's place in the very heart of one of the best parts of Nairobi...close to all the great hangout spots. A fantastic stay! I wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else on my next visit to Nairobi. Top notch!
I fully agree with everything that Martin's prior guests have said. He is a super helpful, friendly guy that lives in a beautiful apartment near to everything that my friend and I wanted to do in Nairobi. You should stay with Martin while you are in the bustling city of Nairobi.

Martin is by far one of the best hosts have encountered in my travels. He was very hospitable, king hearted and more than willing to assist me with settling in upon my arrival to Nairobi. He was very patient and kind enough to show me around Nairobi. His unit exactly as portrayed online. Very clean, spacious and quiet. On my next trip to Kenya, I wouldn't think twice about reaching out to Martin again. His unit added a great deal of value to my overall trip to Kenya. Many Thank
Martin was an exceptional host! He made sure our arrival was easy and smooth, and was very welcoming. We felt right at home in his beautiful, comfortable place. He'd thought through everything, and we felt very well taken care of. He was also great company--we ended staying up watching the World Cup game and discussing culture. I highly recommend a stay with Martin for anyone who wants a soft landing and a warm welcome in Kenya--I'll definitely be back. Thanks Martin!
My experience at this place was a nice one ! Beautiful, big and clean place! Close to downtown nairobi! The host was friendly and exceedingly helpful....there was a slight taint in the water but that was more a city problem than was an apartment (website hidden) was ok to bathe with (...just don't get any in your mouth....not good lol) All besides that...a great place to stay for a budget price! When I'm in Nairobi again Martin will definitely be getting my business again!
