Among the architectural features in Balvanera are the neo-classical Congress building and the statue group in neighboring Plaza Congreso. The El Molino tea room is located across the street in a building that has seen several rounds of restoration since its heyday.
The café Los Angelitos in the corner of Rivadavia and Rincón was a meeting point for poets and musicians. It features a relief of angels in its façade, which is one of the landmarks of the barrio. After extensive restorations, it was reopened in 2007, with plans to offer live tango and become a tourist landmark much like the Tortoni and Ideal cafés.
I hope you like the place. Don't forget to check up the photos of the house.
See you soon.
Can't imagine any better place to stay in Buenos Aires! Ignacio is an amazing person, makes you feel at home from the first minute on, provides you with lots of information and local tips, keeps the house clean and well organised, and always has an open ear for all your needs. The house is beautiful and located in a nice neighbourhood.
The only "negative" point is that it is such a hard moment once you have to leave and you're gonna miss it that much. But: no fue un adiós, fue un hasta luego. Muchas gracias por todo Ignacio, pasé un tiempo maravilloso en tu casa!
Ignatio is a really nice person, helped me a lot through my stay. The house is big and it's very nice to know other people who stay there. The neighborhood has everything and is very quit, maybe too quiet at night.
I had a great experience during my stay with Ignacio. He was always super helpful with anything I needed or had questions about, he always went above and beyond to lend a hand. It felt like I was a roommate there from the very beginning, his house is your house. I met some great people too! Thanks again for everything Ignacio!!!
i stayed one month in 'mi casa' and i had a very nice time there. iganacio is a very friendly, polite and well-organized host. if you have any question about 'buenos aires' he tries to answer it. he speaks perfect english but if you want to improve your spanish he speaks spanish to you.
balvanera is a very authentic barrio. its safe and the flat is very close to the subte.
THE HOUSE IS AMAZING! for design lovers its perfect.
Ignacio really takes care about his charming house.
i really recommend this place!
Muy muy bueno. This is simply a great place to stay: comfortable, well-designed, quiet, in a typical BsAs neighbourhood not too far from anywhere you may want to go. A nice refuge in a fantastic city. Ignacio was always incredibly helpful, and an excellent host.
I can't recommend this house enough. It's a real home away from home. Ignacio was out of town when I first arrived but his brothers were there to take care of things. Ignacio returned about halfway through my stay. All of the brothers are super friendly and happy to answer any questions you may have. The house is centrally located and in a good neighborhood. Public transportation and/or flagging a taxi is easy from the house. Norma, the woman who comes in and cleans is a gem.
If you stay here you'll have friends to hang out with, eat meals with, and will likely build lasting relationships with those around you.
I'm a host on Airbnb and Ignacio has given me several great ideas of how to improve my place.
I went on a walking tour of the BA street art. It was SO cool! (website hidden)
I also studied tango with Alejandro Gee. Either of these activities I'd do again in a heartbeat.
You should definitely stay here when you come to Buenos Aires. Don't even consider another place!
I have really enjoyed to stay at MI CASA EN BA. It's very well located. Easy to take metro or bus. The house is comfortable and nice. Ignacio is a very good host. I recommend this house. When i go back to Buenos Aires, i'll stay again in this place. Gracias!
This is the perfect home away from home if you want to mingle with a few travellers but not stay in a noisy, crowded hostel. The house (and its host!) has a friendly, easygoing vibe, and there are nice outdoor areas and a lounge room where people eat and watch TV.
I liked the privacy of the single room as I had to work a lot on my laptop during my week in BA, but then I could relax and chat to the other guests in the evenings. It's also a short walk to cafes, supermarkets, laundromat, subway and buses, and a cleaner comes in twice a week.
Ignacio was so helpful, he even took my dirty laundry to the laundromat in the pouring rain AND he crossed the city to return something I had left behind. I don't want to guarantee these five-star services to everybody... but it's an example of how far he goes to help.
Stop looking at all those other listings and just book this place now!
I think that your accommodation can have a major impact on the way you experience a destination, and in the case of Mi Casa in BA, it couldn't have been more positive.
Unbelievably, the first thing I did when I arrived in Buenos Aires was to leave my money belt, with my passports, credit card, iPhone and cash in the back of the taxi from the airport. Ignacio not only spent hours on the phone trying to track it down for me (and, against all odds, actually succeeded), he even went and bought me ice-cream to cheer me up. That's how amazing he is.
The house itself is a fusion of authentic, traditional Argentinian architecture combined with Ignacio's own elegant, modern style. It's airy, cool, relaxed and the perfect retreat from the sometimes hectic streets of Buenos Aires. The neighborhood is quiet, but central, and you can easily catch a bus or Subte to anywhere in the city.
Ignacio also has the knack of collecting great guests - everyone else in the house while I was there was friendly, fun and interesting.
In short, I can't wait to stay there again, and I highly recommend you do too. But only if you're awesome :)
Ignacio is an interesting and good guy and a great host, really made my stay in B.A very comfortable, very helpful and fun to be with, as mentioned in other reviews, he takes his obligations to his guests genuinely and sincerely.
The house is charismatic and has a relaxed yet social atmosphere and is a good place to socialise with other guests, definately a better way to travel than the mainstream hostels!
All the best, Thanks man!
