Guest access

The house has been fully renovated merging its architectural identity with modern elements and design furniture.

The wide spaces, high ceilings and large outdoor patios create a tranquil atmosphere perfect to relax feeling like at home.

The breakfast area and the living room are perfectly connected to a large shared kitchen room where food lovers may use all the utensils to cook in a large gas kitchen.

This property has two large patios which serve as common areas for relax, recreation or simply rest in the sun.

Interaction with guests

Sara and I live in the house. We are fully available all day and night. We like to share time with our guests and make their stay a great stay.

The neighborhood

Neighbourhood Highlights:

Among the architectural features in Balvanera are the neo-classical Congress building and the statue group in neighboring Plaza Congreso. The El Molino tea room is located across the street in a building that has seen several rounds of restoration since its heyday.

The café Los Angelitos in the corner of Rivadavia and Rincón was a meeting point for poets and musicians. It features a relief of angels in its façade, which is one of the landmarks of the barrio. After extensive restorations, it was reopened in 2007, now it offers live tango shows and it has become a tourist landmark much like the Café Tortoni and Confitería La Ideal.

I really enjoyed staying there. Juan and his wife are excellent hosts. It's not a five star hotel, but authentic and offers you an insight of buenos aires away from the touristic barrios like palermo.. yet I still felt safe, also alone in the night. And despite being not veeery central, you can reach with busses the metro, taxis or uber almost everything within 30, 40minutes. Price per value is excellent, and although some items in the kitchen or bathroom are a bit old in the house, everything worked perfectly! So, thanks again for the nice stay :)

Although I hadn't the chance to meet Ignacio. I met his brother Nicolas, he is a great host, he was always thoughtful all the time whatever thing that I needed. The house "MiCasa" is cozy and comfortable. I'll recommend this place when you want to visit Buenos Aires. The neighbourhood is located close to the subte or underground and there are supermarket and cafes surrounding the area.

My time in Buenos Aires was great. Nicholas, Ignacio's brother, and his girlfriend, Ashelyn, were my host. Nico was very friendly and helped me navigate my way around the city. He speaks great English. This was important to me since my Spanish is not so good. As a solo traveler, I enjoyed feeling safe walking around the neighborhood by myself. The house is very close to several grocery stores, restaurants and public transportation. This is also a great location for solo travelers because Nico and Asheyln create a family environment in the house. Solo travelers can have company or privacy if they like. I greatly enjoyed my stay!

I extended my stay here for an additional month after my first week staying here. The metro is conveniently close by and there are a number of restaurants and stores near by. The host Nicolas was great and answered any questions that I had. The house and the room itself was perfect for what I needed during my stay in Buenos Aires. I would definitely stay here again!

Ignacio and Nicolas were extremely helpful with providing information for the area and to my questions. The house is close to a metro station, a grocery store and in a very quiet neighborhood. The room has everything you really need for a short or extended stay. In all, had a great time staying here!

Hi, my wife Josefina and I, Juan, will be your hosts. There will always be one of us to welcome you, solve your problems and make your stay as pleasant as possible
I’m an architect and I personally restored and decorated the house with the help of the whole family, my wife Josefina and our three sons. There is a part of each of us in every room, because we developed the family and the house at the same time. So, we are inviting you to our place and hope you will feel at home during your stay in BA.
Our eldest son, Ignacio, started the project “Mi Casa en BA” back in 2011. He lived in the house and made it a home for visitors from all walks of life. He also has the credit for making us superhosts with Airbnb, status we have kept throughout the years.
A bit about our family: Josefina is an English teacher, Ignacio is a crossfit coach who is now living in Sweden, Hernán is a graphic designer and Nicolás is a cook for an international cruise ship. And there´s another member of the family, our dog, a boxer called Don Vito, who may sometimes pay a visit to the house.
We love our city and we can help you get to know the city and its people, the Porteños.
If you have any questions or would like to know more about us, please don't hesitate to send us a message.
We’re looking forward to welcoming you as our guests!
